HRC is a particpant store in the UK Pavilion. It is between two of the UK stores so you have fellow Disney cast members walking through all day. When you work for HRC you do not move from that shop. When you work for Disney, you get moved around all the shops. In HRC you can't really slack off - like you would be able to do with Disney. HRC is all about WORKING. They have frames that need to be made, wrapped, and there's alot of training as there is alot of paperwork to learn. Do you manage to speak to Ellen? I worked on the International Program with Disney from Sept 2003 - July 2004 and then went back on a J1 Academic Program to work in HRC from Dec 2004 - May 2006. I worked with Ellen through that. Unfortunately as you are not part of Disney, your rent is more expensive (which is ridculous - as you live in the same apartment as Disney cast memebers who pay less), you do not get a maingate pass to let your friends/family in. You do however get 2 complimentary passes (once or twice a year), which you can give to family or friends to get in free. Company D sells discount Disney tickets and maybe friends who work for Disney might use their maingate pass to let your family in if they have any spare. I believe your pay is like a $1 more than Disney cast members. You also, don't get Disney health insurance, so I think you have to arrange for your own. Travel insurance doesn't really cover health. Any other questions just ask. Having worked for both Disney and HRC, I know all the differences. There may be lots of partying, but it is your own choice to go to them or not. Downtown Disney has a movie theatre, restaurants and shops. The cast bus runs down there frequently. So you can head down there if you want to. Claire
hi there, thatnks for all that information, it really helps, i cant wait to start working there now, getting very close, as you say downtown disney has a movie cinema, do we (as cast members) have to pay to watch or can we go for free?
the amc is a seperate company so you need to pay to see the movies, they show everything, it's a 24 screen cinema complex. I have an amc moviewatcher card, I recomment people getting them. everytime you go you get something for free. a popcorn, drink, whatever. you also save up points from each movie you see and then eventually get in for free. I have a student one. never told them I was no longer a student, so it gets you the cheaper price, ha!
