You get overtime yeah, and you get double pay on american holidays... Magic hours in epcot is till midnight... In MK I've heard it's until 3 am...

you get 50% extra if you work more than 9 hours (including breaks)
you get 100% extra if you work more than 14 hours, but that is very rare, I think I worked about 2/3 hours with a 100% during my time there.
and as tinktingeling said, you get 100% on american holidays. And if you're off that particular day, but you work either the day before or the day after, you get one days pay, which is pretty neat.
I don't know what it's like in other countries, but in norway you get paid more if you work at night, it's not like that in Disney. It doesn't matter how late you work, as long as its shorter than 9 hours. You could be starting work at 6 PM, and get off at 1 AM.. you would still be getting paid 7,25 or whatever it is..

That's cool that you get paid more for working at night. That doesn't happen here in Canada or most countries I don't think :(

Yeah that's cool! But remember this: Never ever call in on an american holiday, because then you don't get paid at all!! So consider, is loosing twice the pay worth the day off?

I think you're all gonna call in a couple times...
and remember you accrue sick time while working
think you get like 3/4 days or so during your year, so don't forget to use it.
it's basically days you can call in and still get paid..
and use it, 'cause it wont be ending up on you final paycheck, like your personal holidays and other holidays will...

Yeah, please don't keep from calling in sick! I was so stubborn about that when I was there the last time, and I went to work being so sick! It's not worth it! One day or two days here or there won't hurt you. Just don't call in sick often for being hangover!

I hate calling in sick, I always get really nervous and think I'm going to get in trouble lol.
I know it must differ from place to place but are there certain rules for calling in sick? Like it has to be at least a couple hours before your shift and stuff, and are they pretty understanding about it? what about when they're short people, do they call you in if you're needed? I guess you really do need a cell phone then...

They always call the apartment phone if there's anything, like being short on people... When you call in sick, you're calling an answering machine, so no one knows why you're calling in sick. And I think I remember you could call in until your shift ended, or am I wrong?

I was there almost for a full year before I called in, so when I finally did it, my manager was really worried about me :p

but then again, it's sometimes good to call in because of being hungover...
think about working kid cot.. it's NOT FUN...
one time I wasn't really hungover, but I obviously reeked of alcohol, as my manager that day had been going around to everybody else and saying they should keep me away from guests :p
I think she had me do floor stock as well.. which includes minimal guest interaction...

but, yeah, don't call in too often, it'll get you terminated.. especially if you're working food

they have a point system, you get one point every time you call in, you can call in three days in a row.
if you call in separate 3 times in one month, you get a reprimand, you get three of those and you're fired.
you get three points in 6 months you get a reprimand, and 12 in a year, you get a reprimand..
i think that's how it went...

they're OK with you calling in sick, if they know/believe you're sick... people who cal in everyday after a party, they hate, and they will be giving a hard time...
if they need people, they will call you (if it's your day off, or if they want you to come in earlier)... and then they're really grateful if you show up.

why is it always three? haha
that's pretty reasonable I think. Can you put your name down or something if you're wanting to get called in early and stuff?

there's no official place you can put you name down, but you can tell your managers you wanna be called if they need extra people...

for overtime though, there's a huge folder where you write your name and area, and they put you up for overtime if they need it, and it's based on seriority in case several people request overtime

There's no regular days you get off, Disney is open every day of the year! But you have floating holidays that you can request to get when you want. You have two days off each week of course, but not all places have regular days off.
