Holiday/Days off

hey guys!

have just read through this thread and found it really helpful! I just got my departure date recently and due to my parents jobs they have to submit holiday requests around 5 months in advance... so they are hoping to come out to Florida around end of march/start of April. They are more than happy to have a few days poodling around Orlando before we all want to go up to Crystal River together for 3/4 days (to see the manatees!) What do you think the chances are of being able to get 4 days in the week off? Say Mon-Thurs if you put a request in early for it? As they are thinking of trying to book it soon, but odiously I don't want them to do it if there is a high chance I won't be able to see them in CR. xxx

 

you usually get 2 days off in a week and usually they are 2 days together - sometimes you will only get 1 day if the park is very busy (over holidays for example) but you usually get 2. if you wanted 4 days off together you would have to either request a back to back which gives you 4 days off in a row but its friday - monday (basically a long weekend, and they use the friday and saturday as your days off from the 1st week and sunday and monday as your days off from the second week) or you would have to "give away" your shift (s) to another cast member who would be willing to "pick up" shifts (this is all done via the cast member internal website) you would have to wait and see if this request is approved or not tho before you would know for sure.

your really not going to be able to plan for something so specific until your over there and know the rota etc
it is possible but nothing is guaranteed and you may need to try and juggle your own shifts and try and give away some to others and therefore pick up some etc to even it all out....

theres not a lot you can really do until your there and its nearer the time im afraid....
