Well finally i have been allowed on MY computer. Two days to go and the cases are not packed (well nearly) and the dining room looks a mess. I think louisa needs 4 cases! It wont all go in but she thinks it will :-\. Think of me on sunday at 4am driving to the airport and waving my baby off. But hey the good news is im going out to florida in June ;D.

Donna I hope you have plenty of tissues!!!!!!!! Don't worry though she will be fine. We fly out on Sunday for a family holiday, the last one before Gemma goes in March, so we will look out for her to see if she is ok.

 

Well she has finally arrived and seems to busy to chat to me on msn. She said she 'LOVES' it but has only been there for less than 24 hours! Knowing Louisa nothing will change that. The heaviest case only weighed 25.9 k and that was full, so dont worry everyone cos if Louisa's cases can be underweight so can everyones. ??? She did say though she was pleased she took her quilt as it was cold (with the air conditioning). It realy does'nt seem any different at home, it's just like she was still at uni!

DOnna - I'm planning on bring my duvet also, how did Louisa pack hers? Vaccumm bag? or just throw it in a case...I'm not sure how to go about bringing mine without taking up too much room.

I'm sure we have all been reading the threads about the awful time that some people have had working in Disney, i think this is great to have these discussions before our new CM's start their jobs. i hope this drives home that all though Disney is about fun and magic, working for Disney is about hard work. i also know that to be aware of what is ahead is the greatest way to get through it. Getting somewhere is much easier with a road map and knowing all the hazards that you might come upon. A wise man once taught me that although you might feel upset the way someone spoke to you (or didn't speak to you), you are only a smile away from forgetting what was said and feeling good again. This is all done by yourself and not the other person.

 

Countdown continues... Tessa woke up with a goofy smile on her face this morning --and said "I'm going to WDW!" I can see that by next month sleep will be a thing of the past.
Tessa's birthday will be three weeks before she leaves, so we're renting a hall and planning a "Bon Voyage" theme party. Any ideas for decorations and all?
I'm going to miss her so much! Are any other parents hoping to manage a Disney Cruise while our brilliant offspring are getting big discounts off the price?
We're getting anxious because the Disney Package hasn't arrived yet --nor has her passport, and it should have been here some time ago.

Hi there, louisa vaccum packed her quilt in two plastic bags. it has to be done just before you shut the case as the bags are not totally airtight. Also hope that customs do not want to look in your case cos they wouldnt get the quilt back in unless they have a hoover. ;D

Thanks Donna - but I actually went out a few days ago and bought a chealp little comforter (only $18!) that came vacuum packed.
Then if I still want a nicer once I can buy one once I get there but I'll be warm the first night.

 

My first night was freezing! Felt like going and lying outside...hehe...but they had some nice cheapish comforters at WalMart next day, so that was me sorted I liked the comforter...tried to bring it back, but had a *lil'* bit of a problem in fitting all my purchases in the cases...

 

Just wondering if any one has had any experience with the discounts on the admission to the Theme Parks and the hotels as to when they start? Some have said 3 months after start date and some said right away after their ID card is issued. My daughter is on the year long cultural rep program at Epcot and i want to come down for her birthday but that is only 4 weeks after she starts and of course would love to visit the parks with her.

 

Well from what I've heard from various places, we can book hotels and get tickets and everything. The only thing we can't book till after three months is the cruise.

Don't take my word for it though, I haven't figured it all out yet!

 

oy Gibbs - any official word on the Cruise discount we get?
I've heard it's 80% off, but I'm not sure...
Can't wait to take one though!
