Hey guys - I am from New Brunswick and I have about a 4 hour drive to Halifax... I don't mind though - hoping it will be worth it! -Derek-
Hey guys! Congrats! Cathy, I'm from Charlottetown, PEI but living over seas right now. Eric actually called my Ch'town residents last week to give me a phone interview. Guess he forgot that we had already talked and made arrangements when he was in Manchester a few weeks back! I keep thinking about the smiling thing and am being a knob and trying to practice smiling more often :-\ Doing okay at it except when sitting at work waiting for stuff to load on the computers! In the meanwhile, sooooo excited. I practically have my interview answer all drafted up in m head! ~Jen
Hey Jen! Are you doing your interview overseas then? I'm trying not to think about it too much....if I do, my nerves will be shot by the time I get there! But it's really hard not to get excited about going to DisneyWorld! Does anyone know how many people are going to the interviews? *cathy*
Hey everyone. I'm from Prince Edward Island, and im still 17.I have been wanting to live in Florida and work for Disney for ages.I know you have to be at least 18 right? I really want to work for Disney as soon as I am old enough (october).I have tried looking all over the internet on info on how to get into work at WDW.I want to apply now so in October I can possibly get to work(if they accept me that is).I've tried emailing cast-a-way and there has been no response.I am willing to do anything to work at disney. Is there anything I should do?I want to show up in Halifax, but should I?Please any help. . . Thanks
Hey Brodie - I can understand your anxiousness to apply but I am pretty sure they want you to be 18 to apply and be interviewed. If you don't turn 18 until October I would say you will probably have to wait until this time next year to do the interviews unless you are willing to fly to the ones in Western Canada that usually take place in the fall. Hope this helps :-\ -Derek-
Ya,I think you are right about waiting.I don't wan't to waste my own time,or someone elses when I am not even old enough. And I don't think I am willing to gamble away the money to fly out west if I didnt get accepted. Thanks for your help!
Hey - no prob man but don't give up - this time next year you could be going to the Halifax interviews - thats not so bad
Hey Cathy - I'm flying to Halifax to do my interview... I'm pretty sure a few people think I'm nuts! However, I like to put the positive spin on it and hopefully the folk at Disney will see me as "eager" rather than "insane" I'm not that nervous yet, really. It'll come though, I'll probably be off-the-wall twitchy and energetic come interview day! Right now, I'm just beyond excited. If I'm ever in a remotely foul mood I just think about the interview, the job, etc and cheer up! Are you guys heading over the Halifax sometime on Monday? I'll be there on Sunday (didn't want to risk a storm on either side of the Atlantic making me miss the interview!). I want to do my interview nooooooooow. ~Jen
Hey Jen At the moment the plan is to head up there on Monday....but trust me, if there's any sign of bad weather in the forecast, I'll be there before the weather gets there!!! There is no way I'm missing this interview! Too bad the interviews aren't in Florida! Then we wouldn't have to worry about weather! *cathy*
Hey guys: I felt this needed a bump to save our thread from the horrors of the second page Have you guys all found places to stay? I'm staying with a friend who lives close to the LONE STAR. It'll be heaven in a city: fajitas AND Disney interviews! (Ch'town used to have a Lone Star but we lost it to East Side Marios. It's quite possible that I'm still bitter.) ~Jen
Hey guys... I'm staying with my cousin who lives out in Clayton Park...we'll be hitting Boston Pizza! (Funny how we seem to be more excited about the food than anything else!) Have any of you been to the interviews before? Do you know how many people will be there? I'm just trying to get a feel for what the chances are of getting hired! :-\ Only 15 sleeps left!!!
Whoa... it is only fifteen sleeps! CRAZY! I've never been to the interviews before, nor do I have any idea how many people will be there. I would love to have an idea on the numbers as well. Where abouts is Clayton Park? I feel like I *should* know where it is but I'm drawing a blank. In an unrelated note, I talked to my parents last night and I'm pretty sure I'll be seeing these unofficial snowbirds practically monthly once I'm down there. Quite a change from seeing them every three-four months like I've gotten used to! (A good change though ) ~Jen
Oh yeah, and you know how you need to give them a pic of yourself at the interviews? I am almost contemplating giving them one of me at one of the theme parks Not sure if that would fall under "unique" or "an absolute nutter".
Hey Jen - I am definately in the same boat with the parents - they are actually in Florida right now... Being away from my family was not even an issue when Eric asked me as I knew I would see them often! That is a good idea about the photo - I wonder what exactly they are looking for - is this just to stick in your file or could it end-up on some official document (or ID card)? -Derek-
Yeah...I was wondering about the picture thing.... Do they want a full body shot, face shot...casual or profesional picture? I'm so confused!! I might e-nmail Eric at Cast-A-Way to get a better idea!
Good plan - let us know what he says. I think it would be awsome if we can use one of us at one of the parks - but I doubt we can...
I am noticing that there aren't really that many of us on this thread and I can't imagine not being on these board just 15 days before your interviews and we have kept this thread pretty hight up on pg1 for most of the time- I wonder if there are many going to the interviews in Halifax? - maybe there won't be too many and we'll all get it!!! Probably just wishful thinking though - I am starting to get very anxious -
Ha! Yeah, just the three of us - wouldn't that be ideal?! "Okay, we have 15 positions to fill... That gives each of you five jobs each or about 200 hrs of work a week. Welcome to Disney!" RE the photos, I doubt they want a full body shot. I'm thinking similar to a grad picture, mid upper body and up. I also doubt the want a super professional photo, I imagine they just want a picture of your face so they can put a face to a name at the end of the day after meeting dozens of new faces. I wonder if we are, technically, competing with those at the Toronto and Montreal interviews as well or if they predetermine a set number of employees they will hire from each area? My other, other thought is about MSV University, where the interview takes place. Is there anything there to keep us occupied while we wait for our interviews? From reading other threads it seems like we could have a substantial wait between the presentation and the actual interview. ~Jen
Hey guys! I e-mailed Eric, but no response yet. I'll let you know as soon as I an answer. I really don't know how the whole selection process works...I'm assuming that they have a certain number of positions open and will look at everyone individually regardeless of what interview they went to. But then again, we are from the East Coast, so you know we ROCK! As for MSVU...I can't imagine there'e all that much to do while we wait...unless we want to go to a Calculus class or something! I have a friend who went to school there, so I'll ask her for her input on the situation and let you guys know! 14 Sleeps Left!!!! That's exactly 2 weeks....Kinda scary!!!
Me again....this is the response I got from Eric... Hi Cathy, Definitely you can bring any photo, one from Disney would be great! See you there! Eric Hope this helps!
