Salut Joelle, As you probably already know, the interviews for Montreal are on the 10th of March (just 2 days after Halifax) and I haven't heard of anyone being called to these interviews yet - I am in the same boat - very anxiously waiting... I did, however hear on one of the boards that Eric is currently in Europe so I expect that may be the reason for the delay in our calls. Glad to hear from another hopeful applicant! Happy waiting! -Derek-
Hey guys, Joelle and Dee, I was told about my March 10th interview in Montreal like three weeks ago, I say be annoyoing at least they will know how much you want the job! Even if he isn't there (in the office) then atleast leave him a message!! Good Luck!! Liz
I just re_send an e_mail saying hope you don't forget mee.. hope he doesn't! so now im more and more stressed out!!! argh! give you new as soon as i have one! byebey :0 joelle
Hey guys, Just thought I would share what I found out about the Halifax interviews: they are March 8th (as the website says) at Mount St. Vincent with the exact room location to be confirmed later. The presentations/interviews start at 8:30AM and it's pretty much an all-day event. Eric said to bring along two photocopies of your passport info page, a copy of your resume, and a photo. Anyway, for those of you looking to get in touch with him I believe he is back in Canada now; I was talking to him on Thursday and he was in Manchester but I believe he was leaving soon. So yeah, I'm super excited!! Hope to see some of you in Halifax! BTW, where is Mount St. Vincent? Is it on the Dal campus? I really am not too familar with Halifax, with the exception of the airport which I know far too well! Cheers! Jen
Hey Jen - I am the same way with Halifax - no clue about MSVU - if anyone knows - please enlighten us! - I am sure it is not hard to find anyhow - Halifax is pretty easy to navigate - I just can't remember where anything is! - so where are you from?
Hey Derek: I'm from Charlottetown - hence being overly familar with the Halifax Airport as when one flies out of the Ch'town Airport it's 95% likely a change of planes in Halifax will be necessary! I found the Halifax Metro System's website but, in my own uneducated opinion, it's a bit messy so I can find only one bus that goes to MSVU, no. 18. It takes about 15 - 20 minutes to get there from downtown Halifax, although I imagine it's longer in the morning rush hour! http://www.halifax.ca/metrotransit/documents/schedules/route18.pdf Maybe, if there are a few of us leaving from downtown Halifax, we can arrange to meet somewhere and take a cab to the uni... It would be pricier, but public transport isn't always overly reliable! Have you heard anything about getting an interview yet? I was rather surprised when Eric said it would be a one-on-one interview; I expected to share the floor with one or two other applicants! Maybe the Halifax interviews aren't as well attended as some of the others? ~Jen
Hi guys! I also got an e-mail from Eric saying he was gonna call me within the next 2 weeks.....I really don't know what to expect so I'm kinda nervous! MSVU is just outside of Halifax on the Bedford Highway. It's not hard to find, and the bus system is pretty good in Halifax, so it shouldn't be too hard to get there! http://www.msvu.ca/directory/index.asp This site gives you directions according to where you're coming from! Hope to see you all there!!!
Hey Jen - I e-mailed Eric to make sure I haddn't missed his call or something and I didn't - he said he would be calling in the next few weeks!?!? So I am really no further ahead but at least he is going to call I guess - So I still in the anxiously awaiting a call stage (Glad to see I am not the only one - Cathy!)... does he say at the end of the phone interview if you are invited to the final interviews or do we get a call later? Are there any other anxious people going to (or hoping to go the Halifax interviews?)
I did my phone interview back at the end of August. At the end, I found out that I was being invited to the Calgary interviews. So, if Eric does things the same way, you will know at the end of the telephone interview. He gave me all the info about location and time and then mailed me the Disney application and all the info about location and time in writing. Good Luck Everyone....
Originally I had rung (uh oh - bad grammer: rang? rung?) Eric over the Christmas holidays and he told me that he would be doing most of the phone interivews in late January or early February. I think the only reason I found out early about my interview was because I put in a plea so I could save myself a couple hundred dollars on plane fare. Regardless, he didn't ring me back in time but I arrogantly booked my ticket anyway He also told me that people who attend the interview in Halifax will find out sometime in April whether they made the cut or not. In a related note, we may all find the rest of March and April to be very, very long Anyway, I'm super excited about the whole thing! It'll be fun trying to out-Disney-nerd everyone during the trivia session (and I mean that in a good way! I feel as though I'll finally be in my element where I won't be the only one that knows Disney-dates, attraction/film histories, etc. ;D). Woo! ~Jen
Trust me... the waiting after the interviews is as terrible as you could imagine. You jump everytime the phone rings and you dread getting the mail. I hated the waiting, but the outcome was really worth it. Although, of course, after you get the anticipated phone call...... more waiting follows. 140 days left to wait........ Sandra
Just wondering.... When Eric says he'll be contacting you, does that mean you have a phone interview? Or does he just call to say "we got your resume but you're not what we're looking for..." I'm just curious as to how excited I should be about this!! Any info would be great! Thanks!!
Hey!! I just had my phone interview with Eric and was invited to the Halifax interviews!!! Yay!! Anyone else hear anything??
I'd say just relax, but I had a really hard time doing that. The only things that I can remember doing a lot of in my interviews were smiling a lot, knowing a lot about the interesting things in your city, and getting excited about both going to WDW and about Canada. My interview was pretty much a conversation. We talked about Canada, Toronto, hockey, these boards, and my jobs at the disney store and the hockey hall of fame. I always hear people say it here.... just be yourself and smile! ;D You'll be fine... Sandra
Congrats Derek!! If you're half as excited as I am, you must be bouncing off the walls! Where are you guys from? Halifax?
Hey Cathy.... I'm from Toronto. Flew all the way out to Calgary for my interview in the fall. Definately worth the trip!! Sandra
Good stuff! I'm from Cheticamp....a small fishing village in Cape Breton...about a small a town as you can get!! I have to drive 5 hours to get to Halifax for my interview!! Fun fun!! I took my first trip to Disney World last June and I can't wait to go back!! Hopefully it'll be as a cast member
