Hey There I accually think it's a lot different with each country cause, what i can remember from the ones that just graduated is that it was helf at old key west hotel and that there was this huge graduation... with Minnie mouse, but it may be different, cause i know the south affricans had a graduation in the animal kingdom lodge!! Trace
The immigration talk is just about things like how to file taxes once you leave the US and how long you can travel for after you leave that type of thing. It was a manditory talk when I was there. Sounds like they might have changed the cermony back which is a good thing as ours was rubbish and seeing as we had the added thing of our managers telling us the immigration talk was not a graduation as there were - and I quote Deborah on this 'No robes in EPCOT' none of us took our mickey ears and so we all stuck out on the photo but never mind. The whole UK pavillion graduated without Disney Ears
I think the South Africans had their graduation at AK cause they all worked there. The EpCot crew had their graduation at EpCot ( along with cast from the hotels, as they were only a few ) and the CP people probably had an own graduation as well. It was all perfectly organized and really cool when I was there. It should really get back to a real graduation. And fuck we walked around the whole day with our Disney ears and some people STOLE a robe ( now you know why they never have enough ). Julia
Hey Gals and Guys,. Hey thats so cool!!! U know it is special to gave a different graduation depending on the country, I wonder how the Mexican graduation is..... : But hey, u know that the graduation is almost the closing part. But how about the beginning???? What do u know about the throw ins??? I know Canadian and British one.... See ya Robb ;D
Well we can't tell you anything about the throw-ins! You guys already know way too much about the whole experience! You have to leave some things as a surprise or you won't be able to enjoy it to the maximum....just sit back and relax and let the year roll over you About the graduation, all of the EpCot crew used to have their graduation together. It would be way too much trouble and effort to do an own graduation for each country. Julia
about the throw ins...is it different for every country then...ie we wont ever get to see a canadian one etc?? xx
Hey Gals, Yeah Julia, we will have to keep it as surprise!!! It will be fun I bet. But it gets really exciting! Hey Lindz, I guess we will be able to see other thorw ins later on our year. It will be fun to see others suffer. Well they will enjoy it when we were the newbies. See ya Robb ;D
Well not every country even has a throw-in. Biggest ones are for the canadians, germans and norwegians ( Mexico had smaller ones, UK not sure ). But hey I have been there 3 years ago, so maybe more countries started with that. You will definitely have to join your own throw-in, it's lots of fun and very exciting. After that you can watch every other countries throw-ins of course. It's always outside, so people just gather around. Throw-ins were always great, I loved the norwegian and canadian ones, just because they put so much effort into them and it was really about traditions, being proud of your country, welcoming new people and remembering those who had left already. Julia.
Hey Julia. Wow, I think that the Mexican throw in will be cool, I think there will be top Mexican music, and food, or the sort. well u know we are a few newbies coming we are about 8. But hey as from Canadians, there are aorund 31 new commers!!!!!!!!! Hey, can u tell us about the Deustcher Throw in??? See ya Robb ;D
NOPE! hehe They have some similar "rituals" so I can't tell you or I have to kill you! See I didn't even know there was something like a throw-in when I arrived, so you already know way too much ;D I know the canadians always used to have a nice dinner together with the newbies and then have the throw-in. Pretty neat! I had four other germans in my arrival group and the throw-in was a huge thing, didn't matter if there were 2, 4 or 10 people arriving. Julia
Okie Julia, Thanks for all the info. Well I suppose I will know everything in 3 days. Hey did u ever witnessed a guy or gal not getting graduated, but never terminated, for poor achivement??? See ya Robb ;D
Hey Robb! I knew a LOT of people that weren't really behaving well during their year ( most of them in the Commons hehe but some also at work ). If they didn't get terminated they got a graduation like everyone else did. Your managers terminate you in a second if you are doing something very wrong or misbehaving in a very bad way, so you can be sure that the people who get graduated either never crossed the line too far or the managers never found out. Julia
Hey Julia, Hey I have heard that there are all types of managers. Some really grumpy, others just relax. How was urs??? Robb ;D
that really does sound cool - cant wait for that, and fortunatly i will be celebrating my 21st when im out there so i hope u brits no how to party lol ;D
Oh brits so know how to party kelly don't worry! I can already promise you that it will be a kick ass party! It will be great to turn 21 there cause you will see the slight little differences ( now YOU can buy the alcohol for the underaged hehe ) Well have a GREAT one and party it up!!! Robb- My managers were just the same. Some were ok and some really stank. I could never take them serious because none of them knew anything about Germany let alone visit our country. They also didn't have a clue about the products we sold and basic working procedures. It seems like everyone in the States can be called a manager without having any real qualifications. But everyone who has been completing their year gets a graduation, that's a fact. You can get repremands but that doesn't change the whole procedure. Maybe your final letter would show in some way, not sure though since I was a good cast member most of the time Julia
Hey Gals,. Hey kelly. Wow u will surely have a great 21st bday here in FL. U will just remember it ur entire life!!! Hey Jules, thanks for the advice, I am about hours to head to Orlando. Hope we can keep in touch via this forum. Thanks for all ur advice and I will be glad to tell u my version of how things go!!! Thanks a lot. See ya Robb ;D
Robb- ENJOY IT TO THE FULLEST! You will soon be able to give advice to others and see for yourself how things run down there! I wish you all the best!!! Julia
I hope they changed the graduation from the Mickey's Retreat/China thing. It was horrible. A lot of people in my group graduated early, so they could be at the last Odyssey one. I wish I had too. Oh well. We complained...a lot...so I'm sure they've changed it. Lindsey...yeah, the throw-ins are different for every country. You will definitely see some of the other ones...or at least hear them. We sometimes had people from other countries at ours, so if you make friends from other countries then you might be able to go to theirs...but it's usually on the same night as your own...but you might not have any arrivals that week. Shan
LOL Shanny I always went to the canadian throw-ins although germans arrived the same night. Back when I was there german throw-ins were pretty boring and so I always preferred partying at the car wash ;D Julia
