He didn't say all that much about it, just that ge was having a brilliant time and he can easily make $200 a day in tips!

It just sounds like so much fun! I'm goingnout again in a couple of weeks so will find out more!

that sounds so good, getting really excited bout it!!!

but am still concerned that am going struggle for money because am doing merch...have just graduated uni so looks like i'll be going back to student living like kate said.

btw kate...did they say how the living was? all in large flats/mixed countries? I'm hoping that will get a flat with lots of people so the rent is a bit cheaper on my meager merch budget.

On your housing form you do get to say that you would live with 8 people, or if you would rather live with 2! CRPs are all in the same places, so you'd be living with people from countries who have pavillions. I worked Custodial for 3 months, made 7.13 an hour and still managed to have an awesome time. I didn't party super hard, but I ate well and was never short of money!

Does anybody here work for Arribas and can tell me (for certain) how high the pay is? I read so many different numbers, I'm totally confused (and also a bit desperate). Can anybody help?

    hiya,
sorry to intrude in your convo there haha but I'm going Feb 16th and so don't really have that much time to save so Im thinking Im going to have about 600-1000 and thats in pounds so does everyone think that'll be enough.....oh and I have loads of people throwing dollars at me that they never spent while they were there!!

advice and other peoples opinions would go down a treat!!!

    thanks:)

Personally, I think you should save as much as you can. And then take as much as you can. It's better to have too much, put it in a bank account, and let it gain interest, than to not have enough knowing you could've had more.
You're going to be out there for a year, you have no idea if you'll need extra money one week for a special party, or to take the family out for dinner (if they visit), so the more you can save the better. That's what my approach currently is, and I don't even know if I'm going yet (re-applying in Jan).

Everyone! Stop worrying!! You will mak money and you will have fun! Yes u may be a bit skint but it'll be fine! Saving a 600-1000 is plenty!!!

A girl I know was on waitlist and had 4 weeks to get there an so didn't get a chance to save! She's doing merch and having a blast, stop worrying yourselves! It'll be fine guys, don't worry!

That's what I told myself today "you'll be making money" so let's not worry about it anymore, just making sure we got enough for the first two weeks and we're good to go!

who did you meet, out of interest?

basically you don't get paid for anything until traditions, which is like $60 and you'll get it paid on thursday, so 9 days after you arrive. then the next week they take two lots of rent, so i got about $70. after that you get more up to the usual paychecks.

do you know if you can pay your first weeks of rent when you arrive so they don't have to take double from your pay?

That would be great (if possible) that way our pay would not be less and less and less...

Nope, they're going to take double. But, remember, they're taking double from a double week of pay, so its really not that bad.

    Ooh... ok then
well, I guess it doesn't really make much diff anyway. You'll have to pay it no matter how!

Do they pay weekly or fortnightly?

Its weekly! The hassle is getting to the bank or to the mall to cash it.

If you set up a bank account while you're there then it can go directly into it. If you're going to be there for the year then it makes sense to do that, it's usually when people are on the summer program that they don't bother setting one up and just cash their cheques instead.
