hmm, i dont know the answer to this one, so Ive had a little search and as far as i can tell 'Mickey Mouse world' seems to be the first name, however this according to wikipedia was for california.. so im confused- what park came first? hopefully somone will know the answer properly and ill be enlightened :
Well there could be a couple answers for that one. The name used during the planning of Walt Disney World was the Florida Project. However if you’re looking for the name that Walt Disney planned to call the area now known as Walt Disney World, then it’s Epcot. Now, if you want the name that the company was going to call it after Walt passed away, but prior to opening then that would simply be Disney World. However during construction Roy O. Disney (Walt’s brother) wouldn’t hear of it and insisted (to the point of firing people who continued to call it Disney World) that it be called Walt Disney World. Then again you might be looking for the actual legal names of the area that Walt Disney World resides in, which would be the Reedy Creek Improvement District which is made up of Bay Lake, Lake Buena Vista and today includes Celebration. ;D

No it wasn't EPCOT, but you got in in the first post. I asked for the name the Walt Disney World was going to be called..the answer was just Disney World. This is what Walt Disney originally planned to call it! But after he passed away there was concern about it not getting finished, so when it finally did Roy O. Disney officially changed the name to Walt Disney World. So you kinda answered it mr_tom_morrow...after Walt had decided on the park called then Disney World he decided to open it further to include hotels etc, then he came up with the idea of EPCOT and for a while the whole develpoment was known as that. Then Walt died and it was reverted back to Disney World tehn Walt Disney World. Anyway I think thats right...checked my book again even tho I've read it time and time again hehe.
