We dont have to do any of that stuff angelica, don't worry :) At least....I have absolutely no recollection of it.
We have to fill out two forms - DS2019 - I *think* all we had to do was sign the back and we should get it at least a few weeks before we go. And the i-94. Which takes about 2 minutes (unless you fill out the green card instead of the white one like i did!). They don't take our pictures or fingerprints or anything. It didn't take me any longer than usual to go through.

Right...but it still doesn't say anything about getting pictures and fingerprints taken? I forgot about the SEVIS receipt, but you don't fill anything out with that, you just pay it online and print out the confirmation. The J-1 visas for Canadians don't work the same way they do for other countries.

(But you are right of course - they can do whatever they want if they suspect you don't have all of your documents and such quite right. Pictures, fingerprints, whatever. Short of hurting us, we have no *right* to go in to their country, so basically what they say goes.)

Anyyywayyy we're getting way offtopic. Steffie did you decide on a flight?

Why dont each of you just call the airport that you are leaving from and find out the process? Usually how it works (coming from the Greater Toronot Airports Authority) is if you are doing a flight that has connections in Canada you will not be put through US Immigration untill you are leaving the country, for example if you are flying Ottawa to Orlando via Toronto, you would be put through immigration at Pearson because that is the last time you will be departing from Canada. But if your flying Ottawa to Orlando via Detroit you would be put through US immigration at Ottawa because that flight is a transborder flight. I hope that make sense, but I still think checking with the airport you are departing from is the best thing to do.

    Good idea Tyler.
I would just hate for anyone to miss the flights!

nope, still no decision :) I'm waiting til I get my credit card in the mail, then I'll have to decide. I'm a bit of a nervous flyer though, and I would def prefer to be with someone I know, so I might go with Giuli (especially since I actually know her in person and have for a while, though we didn't know we had both applied til right before the interviews... random fact lol) though it is more expensive andwhat if the flight is delayed and you miss your connection or something?? that scares me a bit.... I'm def going to stress about all this!!

    such a worry wort....
