Nah, you definitely have to do some work in the chippy, whether it be a month or 4 months..

I just can't wait to get there, its not all bad, you'll still easily make enough to live off in the chippy..And not really have to think about the money too much..

Just think of the poor merchies who have to live off that wage the whole year!

They move u up once they think you are ready, depends how fast u progress. You don't go from chippy to tipped position (server) directly, its chippy then like seating guests and being on the podium, then once ur ready u do a servers test thing in front of ur managers. If they judge u to be ready they bump u up to your tipped, serving position. Then those lucky/good enough get to work in the pub. That's obv also a tipped position.

I was working there over christmas and from sometime in November to January, it was really cold, not sure of the exact temp, and it might've been just because i'd gotten used to the heat, but i worked in main st, and we were completely sold out of blankets, people were buying $200 worth of them, as well as wooly hats and gloves to sit and watch the parade at night!! Our managers were giving out hand warmers to us if we had to work outside!
Obviously you don't expect that in Florida, so i only had a thin blanket on my bed so i was going to bed fully clothed sometimes!!
