Ok, so I was thinking...maybe if we all arrive on the same day...we could all go to Walmart on the night of Feb 3rd?? Thats when I'm arriving...I haven't booked my flight yet, but if I get the one I want it'll be landing at MCO at 15.40. Plenty of time to go shopping for essentials! I'm really hoping I'm in a two bedroom apartment. It's what I'm used to!

I'm planning on going over a week before on the 27th to do some chillaxing, watch the Magic play, go to Tampa for superbowl weekend & generally mellow out before work starts. I'll be getting a rental car from the 27th jan - 6th feb so ya'll are welcome to get a ride to walmart when you guys get there.

I thought I'd bump this thread because we seem to be heading to the bottom of the pile hehe.

Has everyone done their insurance yet??? I think I'm going to get a full 12 months instead of the Disney one. It's what I did last time and it worked well.

I've done diddly squat as of yet! Other than get a years supply of contact lenses & sort out a contract for a cell phone through T-Mobile for when I get there! Once Santa has hit me up with some dollars I'll get the insurance sorted. I like the idea of paying for a year up front, less money coming out of my pay cheque that way. Any tips on who to go with Louisa??

I'm thinking of going with a company called 24/7 and their backpackers insurance. It covers everything yummy says you have to have covered...it's cheaper than the others I've looked at, and there isn't a 12 month limit; so if you plan on being there longer, say 13 months (if you use that extra month to travel) you can have insurance for 13 months. If you get the premium insurance (which for 12 months is something like £159, about £30 more than the basic one) it also covers possessions (although mine are covered on Mum's house insurance anyway), mugging and legal expenses, money cover and cover if your possessions are delayed...for £30 extra I think it's worth it! They also compare themselves with other insurance companies (including STA) and show how much you save! Making a claim is also quite easy too.

Ive got my phone!! While I was on holiday I found out that my old phone card had deactivated, so I got a new one, and the minutes on it will last until I get back, which is awesome. That's with T-Mobile as well lol, I didn't understand any of the other packages.

I don't know what to do about contacts...my daily ones have expiration dates on them and so I wouldn't be able to take a years worth...I might just get Mum to send them out when they arrive at home.

    Eeeeeeeeeee its all so exciting!

Though I did find out that Expedia changed my flight and I won't be arriving until 5pm in Orlando which really sucks. I hope its not a first come first served thing with housing because I'm really hoping to be put in a 1 or 2 bed apartment...not that I'm picky, I just don't want to annoy any more people with my singing than I have to :p And the less people I live with, the more likely I will have time in the apartment on my own so I can do some recording (when my voice comes back!).

I just wanted to get there as early as possible to have time to go to Walmart too :(

I'm not fussed about how many people I live with, I don't plan to be there much apart from eating & sleeping! Far too much to be doing! I doubt very much when you get there has any bearing, I imagine it's already set in stone where you will be.

That insurance sounds top dog, I'll check that shiz out!

I managed to get a contract phone as T-Mobile in the UK are vouching for me to get a contract with T-Mobile US as I have been with them for donkeys. A shiny new handset awaits when I get there...jobs a good un!

I'm not gonna book my flight until the visa thing is sorted as I'm gonna fly out the day after my passport arrives...I don't like the idea of flying out on the third, I kinda want my body clock adjusted & the chance to have a few days chillin' & hittin' some parks.

I'm lucky as I don't have to go to social security or the bank presentation so I can catch up on sleep then. I don't get jetlagged anyway (we've worked out how to beat it from all our holidays!) so I'll be fine the next day :D All you have to do is go to bed at the time you would in america, and although you may wake up at 6am the next day, you'll have settled into a routine almost immediately.

I'm not sure about phone plans....I just have a T-Mobile pay as you go. I only ever text anyway, and calls home are done via Skype or MSN.

I'm taking no chances & will rock a suit, tie & shoes. I'd rather be over than under dressed.
