february 2010 opportunity/waitlisted

Hi, I'm Emma, I'm new to this forum and wanted to chat about Disneyland paris before I (hopefully) go there in summer! Has anyone had an interview yet? I'm socttish but I have one in London very soon, so excited! When are you going to Disney, I hope to meet some of you there, you seem a friendly bunch

OOOOoooo good luck for your interview don't worrie i found mine great fun and it was lovley meeting everyone.....sadly we all applied to working in Disney World Orlando so hopefully it will be in america but we can still give you any tips on interview ect cause i'm sure the paris interviews are similar lol!!! ;D ;D

 

Well the yummy team are now back in the office after the easter weekend, Disney now know our revised availability (if it's changed), i guess it's just another waiting game now. I have a feeling we wont be waiting too long until someone is moved off the waiting list.

Just a thought but don't you think they'd rather 'clear' the current waiting list (us) before starting the whole recruitment thing again in June? Even though the times for placing people may not clash, it just seems to me that it'd make sense to clear the waiting people first.

 

Bare in mind that although the recruitment process starts in June, the F2F interviews haven't been until October the last couple of years. By that time, your 6 months on the waiting list will be over, and they may need to send people out whilst sifting through the applicants in August/September.

 

Yeh, I guess its a way of covering themselves, just incase they urgently need to send someone else - always better to have people on standby!! And our e-mails for the opp list did say that they could be for dates between October and Feb next year!

 

Really? Interviews not until 4 months after applying? In which case we were very lucky having the whole thing sewn up within 6/7 weeks of applying. I wonder what's so different about the June applications for the interview wait to be so long?

 

Oh Gosh really!? I'm applying in June and was kinda hoping that we would know by around August - oops! I suppose if I'm unsuccessful I will know by August though - lol.

The applications re-open in June, but they won't start looking at them until the start of August. That's two months gone. Then it takes a couple of weeks to look through them all, and a couple of weeks to let people prepare for phone interviews. That's another month gone.

This years Jan applications (your lot) went through amazingly quickly compared to any other sets. I thought your F2F interviews were going to be around the end of March/start of April, which is what they were last year. Perhaps last Augusts set didn't give as many successful applicants as they wanted, and they needed to rush the next set through quickly?! I honestly don't know. Then again, a lot fewer places were given out straight away for your set. There's a lot more of you on the waitlist than usual.

Either way, a massive good luck to you all. There's still plenty of start dates yet!

 

To be fair, there's probably loads on the waiting list because we have stupid amounts of staff at the mo, the other day there were actually 10 seaters on lol.
