OH the TTA... lol! I agree with Shanan - good resting opportunity! lol! And dumbo does totally rock... so do aladdin's magic carpets ;D
oh gosh, moving floors in general tend to be quite the surprise to people at times! Can't tell ya how many times I've seen somebody almost fly face first into one! TTA does have a fab (though brief) view of the castle though (oooooooh ahhhhhh). Too bad that's closed this summer - AND Space Mountain! Two attractions in Tomorrowland down for the count!
Space Mountain does need a re-furb, its so rickety and you feel like your gonna bang your head! TTA is a nice break from the heat, and for the feet haha..marketing campaign!
Spaceship Earth Although it's less good now Judi Dench does the voice instead of Jeremy Irons (sexy voice? oh yes - original Bridehead Revisted!) TTA is so good too (matt - we told my dad it went on space mountain LOL!) And splash mountain and Everest! (although I hurt my neck sooo bad the first time cos I looked at the yeti too long as we started going down the hill!) - although I somehow get dizzy on that!? Worst ride tho - Mission Space. Have NEVER felt iller (even on upside down rides!) xx
heads up on mission space - it says don't look away from the screen as that makes feeling sick more likely. DON'T go on the ride once, decide you didn't feel sick at all, and then test the theory. i wasn't sick, but i felt pretty bad!
I was fine! But I'm really clostraphobic and its tiny in there so that freaks me out and puts me off going on bummer cos its a great ride
The first couple times when I went on Mission Space, before the days where they had orange team and green team (or whatever it is hehe), my head was definitely swimming for a little bit afterwards! I didn't go on that ride again for a looooooong time - not until this past December in fact! I made a point of actually just staring at the screen, keeping my head back, etc, and I came off a-ok! It's not my favourite ride, but at least now I know I'm not going to lose my lunch on it (hopefully... )
Oh mission space. I rode it once. Never again! My mom and I were so sick it ruined an Epcot day! I was sick all day and had to lay on a bench in the park and not move because I was afraid of throwing up! We had rode it at park opening because it had just opened and we'd never done it before, and I could eat or do anything more than walk until dinner that night! lol It was good to experience, but never again! ahahaha
C'mon now, you have to get back up on the horse! I think they've made the ride in general a bit calmer anyway! I think the key is to actually focus on the screen and not close your eyes or anything. Otherwise... bawk bawk bawk bawk jooooookes!
well... then fine Shanan BUT i'll make sure you're with me and then you will be embarrassed when your friend is losing her lunch everywhere lol! ;D
a) We won't eat lunch before, so that's an easy fix b) Don't presume you'll up-chuck! Besides, better that you don't do that cause I have a really bad gag reflex for that kinda thing.... c) I'll push your head against the seat sing Mary Had A Little Lamb in your ear to distract/comfort you d) I'll let you be the pilot, so that means you're not allowed to black out e) You'll have fun! f) It's better than It's a Small World g) They have SWEET space man hats in the store where you get off! Or we'll ease you into it and just go on the version that doesn't move at all.... bawk bawk bawk :
bless!Ive not been on it as i'm a bit scared of feeling this way. But they have 2 versions now, one that doesn't give motion sickness etc, I guess its not the same effect, but it will still be good. ahh I just see Shana said that below! sorry my bad! x
Maybe it's psycological, but I still felt ill on green team! What makes me more annoyed is that my dad who gets motion sick on a lot (can't do the teacups!) feels fine on it, and would probably ride it all day if we'd let him (periodically going on Test Track!). Shame, as aside from the claustrophobia (fellow sufferer dan!) it is a good ride. Oh well.... xx
Ah you're right, that ride is a bit claustrophobic! I'm usually okay until that whole console moves right up to your face... then my little personal space bubble is intruded upon a bit Teacups can really make somebody go topsy turvy too! Gosh, I went on that once years ago with my cousin, and for some reason I let him be in control of spinning our cup... :-X I definitely remember just focusing on my feet and trying to stop him from spinning that wheel! lol If you don't really spin it though, it's not too bad! I mostly just like the fact that I can sit in a tea cup lol
thats the key! Sit in the cup and just go around lol! The music is fun and you can take fun pictures! Thats what matters when it comes to teacups ;D
SO many rides are good for such fab picture-taking opportunity! That's my fav! I'm a little obsessed with pictures... Of course there's always the standard make-a-pose-when-you-know-the-in-ride-camera-is-going-to-take-a-picture! Granted, in some instances you have to get over your own need to scream and wipe that look of terror off your face in order to actually make a proper pose lol (i.e. Splash Mountain, Expedition Everest, etc). I kinda wonder if they'll put a ride photo into Space Mountain with the new refurb coming up - that would be sweet (and also probably blinding in total darkness...) It's too bad it's tricky to take a camera into a water park (unless you buy a waterproof disposable camera... which I feel I need to do one day). You'd prob get some hilarious pics of people going down slides and what not! haha Even though I stick to the "wimpy" slides... haven't been brave enough to tackle Slush Gusher or similar ultra-high, ultra-steep slides I feel like that would give you a very unhealthy wedgie! I do so totally want to take surfing lessons at Typhoon Lagoon though! I wonder if they still even do that... at least you're always guaranteed waves there to practice on!
Yeah I've seen that itd be awesome to do, nowhere else can you get guaranteed 6ft waves! Anyone else think the water in the coral reef at Typhoon Lagoon is stupid cold! I realise it has to be a certain temp for the fish etc but still
I don't think I've ever been in the Coral Reef Lagoon at Typhoon! But I haven't been to Typhoon for a while either.. Think I've heard about this coral reef though... you can snorkel around with the fishies right? I have to do that! haha I guess the water temp would depend on the type of fish that are in there.. but if it's tropical fish.. I'd kinda assume it would be nice n' warm water! Meh, who knew? All I know is I'll have to keep moving my arms and legs like mad! Not a fan of cold water lol
