NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.... say it with me people.... epcot does not have a pavillion called ENGLAND..........its the UK!!!!!!! sorry had to get that off my chest, in the interests of educating people...... and for those of u cast members from uk who aint been there yet to work, man ur gonna get so fed up with educating people on the simple subject of geography.... if i had a dollar for everytime someone said, they were in london, or in england.....lol i mean im from england but it still really bothered and does bother me! i dont call myself english, im british not being nasty here i just get passionate about it! loobie xxxxx
gosh laura i totally missed that England comment til now but that really winds me up too! theres more to the UK than england! im scottish and it really irritates me when people say where in england are u from (which is fair enough,if they cant distinguish accents) and then i say im not from england im from scotland, they say "oh well same thing" .... erm not at all! 2 different nations that happen to be part of the UK!
Lol!! I used to get guests and after every sentence they would say 'Eh!'. I wanted to smack them, but Disney seems to frown on that for some reason! :-\ I can only imagine the codswallop the CM's in the UK had to deal with!! Hmmm is there a thread for 'Stupid things guests said/asked.'? if not there should be! Oh yes about pins though! My favorites are my Robin Hood ones as they were all difficult to find and the feeling of euphoria at finding one was most excellent!!
OMG I say the same thing, all my friends refer to themselves as English, I say I am British. I was starting ot think I was the only one hehe Colin
My SINCERE apologizes to all!!! It is the UK and I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO bad!! :'( Please excuse my IGNORANCE!! I hope to learn MUCH more!! And I was JUST there and recognized MORE then the people from England!! If I have OFFENDED, I do offer a FULL apology!! Thanks for pointing it out!! MY BAD!!
Lol no worries. I'm Scottish so it can really irk. :-\ But you are certainly not the first to make that mistake, and certainly not the last. (But I have to say my tolerance levels increased rather than decreased on this subject while I was on the WDWIP. I am a staunch Scottish Nationalist so you'd think the whole "Where about's in London is scotland?" type questions would have driven me mad. But I guess spending more time with folks from all across the UK helped me learn more about the UK and made me feel more a part of the whole British-thing after all. Still a Nationalist though. ) Like you said, that's what the WDWIP is all about: sharing and educating folks about your own culture whilst learning all about others. Random observation; do many English folks describe themselves as British? I do know it'd be pretty unusual to find a Scottish person who'd describe themselves similarly. ;D Any Welshies, NIs wanna add? ;D We are indeed a complex united kindom. ;D No wonder folks are confused. ;D Ona x
