F2F interview: 1st October

Yeah I really am, it's so exciting. Although it seems scarily close now; just doing final preparations.

I think they don't really ask about refs due to the volume of people they hire, and also because they don't want to put people off as they know it's quite a big committment- they wouldn't want to ring up your boss and drop you in it.

References are more a formality to show that there are people that can say who you are if there are any problems.

Just want to wish you all masses of luck for next week and the best advice I can give you is to be yourself and let your own personality shine through; they're looking for loads of different people. You're half way there once you've got an interview, as they have quite a lot of positions. Also, don't worry too much abut waitlisting either...cos the call/email will be just around the corner- sometimes it just takes them a while to sort dates/numbers out

Thank goodness for that. One of my work places don't ever give references, and if there's a hint of you looking for another job, they just tell you to get lost.

I can't believe it's only a week till the F2Fs even though the time is dragging like craaazy!
Just finished filling in my online application too. I was tearing my hair out at the 200 character limits! I think I was just waffling a tad, but I managed to squeeze it all in.

Hey guys,

Not been on here for a while because I've been busy with work and now the interview's at the end of this week! How scary!

If the morning meet up is still happening can I tag along? I'm staying at the Holiday Inn as well. I had a look on Google maps and it says it's like an 8 minute walk away or something.

I'm coming down by myself on the Thursday night and will be at a bit of a loose end if anyone fancies a dinner/drinks get together? Try and calm the nerves a bit!!!

I'm also staying at the holiday inn express. I wouldn't mind meeting up. Are you going to be staying for the meet up at Pizza express, in the evening too?

 

Fellow holiday inners! How about we meet in morning in the lobby or something & go to coffee meet up together? I've Google mapped enroute coffee shops so ill post up suggestions later as I'm on my phone at the moment.

If people are up for meeting in the foyer then heading for coffee that would be ace. Then anyone who's journeying over from other places can join on in the coffee shop if they fancy
If we need to be at Disney HQ for 9:30 should we aim to meet for coffee at 9? It looks like there's a coffee shop right opposite on Google maps. Unless people who've been for their F2F before in Hammersmith can maybe suggest a place?

 

I'm coming down from Glasgow. Should be in London early evening I think. El, don't think I'll be able to make the meal on the Friday, going to stay with a friend who I haven't seen for ages and I think we were going to catch a show. Sorry to miss it!! Looks like we may have a wee group for Thursday night tho, yay!

Holiday Inn Express BOOKED. Forms & photocopying DONE. Just need to print off my retweaked CV & book my train tickets & I'm good to go!

I was going to suggest fellow Holiday Inn-ers if you want to meet in the foyer for 8.45 ish? Then we can wander down to the coffee stop? Theres a few choices for a stop.
I have included maps below so feel free to suggest a place!! 9am meet up gives us some time to calm the jitters with a lot of coffee ;D
