No, unfortunately I have to work at 12 the next day down south so i have to get back. I could always leave after the meal. Isn't there a meal on the Thursday too for the interviewees on Friday?
The idea behind having the meal on Friday was so that both days worth of interviewees could all meet up together.
So, I've just filled in the online application thingie, it's all reasonably simple. If you've gotten this far and written the bestest CV ever (which you obviously have) then the only real challenge is keeping everything to 200 characters in each box! I tried filling it in the other night, got to the last page (where it asks for your passport number) then had a massive panic attack when I couldn't find my passport. Having spent the next couple of hours hunting for it! Stupid thing is, when we got up the next morning, by boyfriend looked in the one box that I didn't even consider, and it was right on top!!! *hits self on the head with her passport* So yea, all I need now is a photocopy of my passport, which I'll sort out tomorrow, and a bank/credit card statement, and I'll get one of those in the post in the next week or so. My lovely little folder is looking almost complete The Excitement is ever growing!
Now I've booked everyhting I'm excited. I just finished booking my train tickets and if anyone wants some cheap tickets, there is a good website www.megabus.com that can give you cheap tickets.
Ah, thanks Sarah. I'll check that out. Vikki, it took me forever to fill that application out. condensing the job description to 200 characters was an absolute nightmare. I thought the whole application would have taken 45 minutes, but took me three hours. I felt like an actual idiot lol.
2 weeks people Considering it felt like a lifetime waiting for the phone interview results, I can't believe it feels like it was only last week that I submitted my application! Strange to think that we'll all know the F2F results in about 3/4 weeks going on what other applicants have said. Think I remember seeing that people had about a 6 day wait! Wow... I'm all kinds of nervous and excited ;D
Wow is that all, i thought we would be waiting for ages to get the results. How exciting. Your welcome for that website. If i hadnt of used it, the train would have cost me £65, but i managed to get a return ticket for £8. Bargain!! The application only took me an hour, I think I was too excited so I had everything with me anyway.
Wow, sarah, that is cheap. Sure you didn't accidently book a bus instead? As for when we hear back after the F2F, I'm expecting 2-4 weeks, so mid to end of October. If they do it the same way as January, most people will get waitlisted, or "Opportunity listed" as Disney likes to call it, and only a small handful will get departure dates, only for the first couple of months. I think it spreads the pressure out on yummy a little bit, as then they only have to deal with the people going out first, and can give out more dates later on, dealing with smaller batches of people at a time. Then again, they might do it the same way as this time last year and give almost all the dates out at the same time. I suspect that it'll take longer to hear back from them if this is the case. Either way, I'm rambling. *tells self to shurrup!*
Can't believe we have to do *another* application form, lol! I'm hoping their decision gets based mainly on the interview and not on this form. Ah well we'll see anyway, no use doing 'what ifs'.
No rambling is good. It's good to hear all the information. I have a strange feeling that there is an application I haven't done, how many is there? I've done the one linked to the email about the Final Interview, the one we have to bring with us, is that the last one? It was definitely a train, the website gets allocated a certain number of tickets, the longer you leave it the more expensive it will be. However knowing what i'm like i'll still get lost.
I suspect the online form is mostly a formality, and a little bit of a mind-jogger for when it comes to reviewing everyone. For example, I suspect I'm the only person who lives around Bristol who works at Zizzi and enjoys flying kites. They can look at the form, remember those points and think "ah yes, she said x, y z in her invterview" Also, the whole thing about checking if your passport doesn't expire and if you have any criminal background etc. If you've filled in the check list of stuff off the email you sent, then that's all the applications over with. (apart from the final interview itself, obv) As for the rambling, it's more speculation and past experience than solid information! Especially as they seem to change the application process just slightly every single time!
There's not much they can tell from that application, from the little amount of things we were to write in the job description. They've also asked for our cv, so I suppose that's okay. Oh, megabus doesn't cater for my neck of the woods
Oh that sucks, there were some good deals too. I hope its not too expensive. I'm hoping they will ask a lot at the interview, you can never really tell what someone is like from paper.
Just want to make sure everyone on here confirmed their place at the interviews?? As people who are interviewed on the 2nd got an email to see if they wanted to switch to the 1st - which could imply low numbers of confirmed places?
Yeah that's what I was thinking. I've confirmed my place. I got an email off yummy to confirm that I confirmed lol. Where are you staying at, Amy?
This is real bad - I haven't booked yet! I've had a really busy week between work, football, my dads 50th birthday parties - he couldn't just have one lol - & my aunt suprising us turning up from Canada for the festivities, helping my cousin with uni stuff & uh going out haha - i've barely had time to sleep! Was going to book somewhere tonight - but now I have MORE plans. All i wanna do is RELAX & prep for the interview Where have you booked to stay? My cousin has said he can sort me a good discount on some hotels - so any help would be VERY APPERCIATED ;D have you made any plans whilst you're there yet?
Oh god.. Lol...Sounds pretty hectic. I think I'm gonna have a busy week - freshers again, not that I'm a student anymore, but I like to pretend to be!! I've been pretty lucky because my parents have booked the hotel etc. I'm staying at holiday inn express for two nights. it was something like £102 a night. Not made any plans yet. My friend's moved down to London on Saturday so I might try and see her. We could try meet the evening before, with whoever else is interested..little drink or something..
Sounds like a plan - we could also walk down together in morning? Planning on staying at the Holiday Inn, if not then nearby. Can have a casual walk down, grab a coffee & generally just be hyper/nervous together ha Also if anyone else wants to join in on evening drinks / morning walk down to Disney HQ - that would be cool
