I know all about frigid prarie winters and trust me when you get used to that Florida heat, when November hits even it can be damn cold! There was one morning I was heading into work at 8 and I couldn't stop shivering! There was such a cold wind that it was brutal to be out in it until 10 or 11 that morning when the sun finally took over. All I brought down with me last time was a zip up hoodie (thinking how cold can it honestly get). This time I'm taking a jacket for the winter (not to be confused with a winter jacket) and some real hoodies.
one morning i had to open up liberty square market and i was FREEZING, even by 12pm i was still really cold, and i had to beg my assigner to put sum1 else on market as i was so cold! it does get pretty chilly in the evenings too, a jumper would do the job tho, not like the 3 layers plus a heavy jacket plus hat scarf and gloves u would need at home! im talking about november tho too, i dunno wot its like in dec / jan / feb! does anyone know a good website that tells u stuff like this? id like to know what march will be like!
Weather.com i think has monthly forecasts, and they tell you what the weathers like for most of the year. The other option is a Florida guide, would give you a pretty good idea as to temperatures throughout the year i'm guessing
I really hope its not that cold cuz i dont wanna take my big winter jacket and also i dont want to buy one but if i have to i dont know what i will do
Don't think you'd need a really thick coat, a reasonable jacket would suffice, the golf ones you can buy are good because they're thing and adapt to release or retain heat, but are light enough to chuck in a small bag
Let's talk weather shall we......it gets SO cold you can see your BREATH people!! When you are SO use to having WARM SUNNY weather ALL THE TIME and then you go to FRIDGED cold.......it is a SHOCK to the boy...TRUST ME!! Bring WARM clothes.....if you are coming early in the year as Kirsty says can be VERY cool!! If your NOT use to it...it can be shocking!! I am a CANADIAN and yes we have VERY cold weather and I am SO not use to this....raining one moment.....sunny the next......hot and then VERY cold air conditioning.........takes some getting use to!! BRING ON SOME WARM WEATHER THOUGH!! ;D
Well since I'm arriving right at the beginning of their famous summers, I'm excited to get to experience THAT before their cold is brought on. Although, when is hurricane season? And all those manic on and off rains? Because if that's DURING my precious summer, I'll be sort of bummed. But I'll get over it in like two seconds flat, I promise
Ashley you arrive about 2-3 weeks before hurricane season and last year when I arrived at that time it rained EVERY day, quite randomly (although always between 1 and 4 in the afternoon). The day would start of sunny and clear in the sky but be raining by the afternoon.
Try Wales. Before I came home for Christmas I don't think there had been a day in Cardiff where it hadn't rained for at least six weeks! But at least it was warmer than Oxford.
Yeah, Cardiffs a lovely place, my 1st choice for uni, love the place, weather does suck at times tho, lolß
Not only does Scotland have the rain but it is also usually colder than the rest of the UK. I presonally cant wait to get out there and enjoy some Florida sunshine, well its got to be better than Edinburgh rain and gales.
I can handle manic off-and-on rains I think, but I'm definately not a rain person! Our winters may suck with all the snow and windchill, but the summers are usually pretty dry. I can only ever remember a handful of good rain days through out the year and if we're lucky a couple of really good thunderstorms!
from my experience, although it rains pretty much every day in florida, it usually doesnt last long, as the sun dries everything up fast!
yay cardiff! sorry had to say that i found scotland drier than wales to be honest but a heck of a lot colder. cardiff at the moment tho is soggy, damp, wet, windy whatever its not nice roll on florida sun i can deal with a couple of hours rain if its replaced by sun and warmth!
Yeah the sun will dry it up fast, but the humidity goes up like 10000000% right after the rain so it seems to be really hot and wet then anyway.
