Yeah I don't get my pack till June. I don't know exactly why but that's what eric from castaway told me. I think it has something to do with being there for a year instead of being in the summer collage program, it's a different kind of visa. And Disney gets it for me.

I've been told the departure date on April 19th so I guess I have to wait quite a long before that BEAUTIFUL letter arrives... ::)
how long have you been waiting to receive it???
Every day I check my mail box but it's always empty... :(

I think it depends on where you're from, the recruiting partners in each country work at different paces. Apparently it depends too what program you are going on. I think the minimum though is at least 1 month before you leave. If you don't have it by then, you should definitely contact the recruiting partner. You can also drop them a quick e-mail asking them when they're sending them!

Some questions about the documents in the pack...

So as far as I understand, we have to fax the acknowldegement form to WDW International Recruitment and send Cast-A-Way our flight information. Do we have to fax the Housing agreement or do we just keep that until we get there? And we just bring the J1 visa document with us, we don't have to do anything else with it right now, right?

    Thanks!

    Matt,

If I were you I'd just call castaway and ask them. just to be on the safe side

that stuff about social security number confused me too... do we have to get one to work there for 3 months? i need someone to hold my hand and go through the paperwork with me cuz im super confused about half the things in that package! ???

Yeah I'm pretty sure you need a Social Security number even if it's only for three months.

Don't worry I'm sure you'll get it all straightened out. They should have a help line or something for those packs. They sound like they're very confusing.

As far as I know you have to take care of having a medical insurance for the first 3 months at least, in order to give them enough time to prepare your US one.
In case you don't have the insurance the doctor's bill is quite expensive...
...but I think that everything is explained in the letter because (I suppose) there are some differences according to the country you are from...

    Hey Matt

The housing agreement I have in my pack is my own copy to read through before I get there so that I can sign away (without having to sit there reading for hours I guess!! hehe)

Not sure if yours is the same??

I think the only thing that has to be sent in right now is acknowldegement form (and flight info if you havn't done so). I think the VISA stuff will be done by the customs at the airport, and the rest like housing will be done when we get down there.

I heard the 1st day is a LONG day, with lots of paperwork and stuff to be done.

    Yes..
    ...you're right...
Mountains of document to fill in...
    ...but it definetely worths it!!!!
The first week (at least) you're gonna have to deal almost every day with documents & friends... ;D
But once you've started working and everything's done you'll probably forget about it in just 1 second...
    ...that's the Disney magic!!! :D :D
