Disney ICP Summer 2013!!!!

Hey guys, don't know how useful this will be to some of you, but some of my tutors at uni were talking about this program and they were encouraging people in my class to apply.. tho a lot of them didn't seem to interested (WHAT?! Iknow) haha, and he said that it would be nice if a few of us go to the pre-screen in Manchester.

So i know one of them is gonna be in Manchester.. dunno how helpful that is? hha

I think we know ones in Manchester and ones in London.

I'm more pissed off that he was encouraging people and broadcasting it further. I would've slingshotted him with a stone from the back of the room to shut him up if I was there.

Yeah i think there might be one in Scotland too.
Im pretty sure i read Yummy Jobs post it in the comments section of one of their FB statuses a few weeks ago.

 

Am I the only one who finds it weird that the Yummy Jobs FB page seems to be exclusively for UK applicants? They almost never say anything about Canada. I understand they're a European company, but you think that they'd mention at least once on the FB page that it doesn't close in Canada until November?

 

Hi, I'm new to these forums. but my name is Lauren and I'm studying Zoology at Queens University Belfast.
Does Anyone from Northern Ireland know where they are going to go for the pre-screen if they get an interview?

 

Hi welcome! Yay for another northern irelander and queens student as well I'm studying physics at queens! For me if I get a pre-screen interview I'll go to one that hopefully will work in with my day off (Thursday) or if there is not one on my day off then I'll go to any one as long as it isn't on a Tuesday which is my lab day and I cannot miss labs.

 

I'm hoping its a Wednesday or Friday as I have practicals on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays. Its a nightmare. But i suppose I'll wait and see if i get a pre-screen first!

It is news that there'll be one in Manchester tbh, when the interviews were around they did 1 in Liverpool and 1 at Edge Hill University but 0 in Manchester.. so that's pretty cool

 

Manchester is great news for me, I know they used to do one in Liverpool John Moores (im sure thats the name of the uni?) but i'm from Preston so Manchester is closer

Yeah, there'll probs wont be any in N.I. haha. Nothing comes here.
But I go to University in Canterbury so I'll be going to the London one if im successful.
I'd advise to go to Liverpool or Manchester if coming from Ireland. Flights and hotels are so much cheaper.

 

They tell you which interview you're going to, you don't get to pick. They sent me to London from Glasgow, when there was interviews in Manchester.

 

It's always cheaper to get to London I find though. I live in Leeds and I hate it when they send me to Liverpool cos you can't get funfares despite it being closer..

I think it's safe to say the UK travel fares are overpriced and don't make any sense. You know in London, it now costs me £15.80 for a day travel card... bloody joke.

That seems pretty silly to be honest. I know the final interviews tend to be in London and obviously you don't get an option, but you think they'd try to make things a bit easier for you when there's a closer locaton for you!

 

Oh my goodness that's weird. I live in the south like. I cant afford to go further than London! haha

London is the cheapest to go to except for when youre flying haha. Its about £25 to get to Liverpool from Belfast, but average price to get to London is £30-40. Could go up to £90 if you're only booking it the week before.

 

Yeah it all seemed to be a bit random. For the most part if u stay nearer London then u may get an interview there but they are trying to fit a lot of people into a couple of days , in my first interview for crp there was 5 Scottie and one Irish! For the crp they only had one interview time at manchester, and two for London so they probably gave priority to those who lived nearby and figured if the rest of us had to travel far then we could go further. At the end of the day, it worked out well for a lot of us! If it's ur dream job then good things will happen! I have a lot of hope for the people in these 16 pages as u obviously care enough to do your research and find this site so u are.already in the minority that really cares about it! only today did I find out that another crp for next year lives about a mile away from me and we are both going to our disney meet up in london in october! Good things come to those who wait and Ihave a lot of faith that a lot of u will come visit me at rose and crown next summer! Aapologies if my spelling is a bit crazy, damn phone won't should www

How come? It only costs me about £5.60 for the day

 

How much is a pound compared to canadian (or american) dollar? Because from the sounds of it, its waaayyyy cheaper for you guys.
