i think a little box of cereal is perfect for me with milk but i am dead small lol and i used to only have 1 when i was a kid and got used to it =P u'd think pasta was healthy tho wouldn't u cos its dead simple and not so fatty, but i dunno =s i eat it instead of pizza i guess i also eat a lot of potatoes tho =s
Good good good, I'm glad everyone says you lose weight working there because I'm sooo looking forward to all the American food and don't want to have to worry about it! Yes, little boxes of cereal I love, it makes me feel kiddy again Tomorrow it will be the Cookie Crisp one I think! xxx
I just checked the calories of the fruit smoothies I have for breakfast :O I thought I was being super healthy, but there's so much sugar and calories in there! AND I've been spending a fortune on them - I have a huge glass every morning. Oops! Defs gonna have to start checking the calories on things!! I'm trying to stay away from carbs - bad bad bad. It's so hard though!! I need to find things I can take to work and make pretty quickly in the morning, otherwise I'm stuck buying something in the canteen :-\ The weight does seem to fall off while you're working in Florida - you're walking aaaalll the time, my diet wasn't very good but I just wasn't that hungry. Hopefully the same thing happens this year!! I was eating out a lot because there isn't really time to shop for food very often - I felt like going to Walmart was a waste of my precious Disney time 8)
And the trips to walmart are sources of unnecessary stress! All that pushing and shoving to get on the bus and then waiting around in the heat to get it back again.... ugh! When its hot I just dont feel so hungry and you drink SO much water as well!
lol i love walmart tho but theres soo much candy in there!! tempting =P and i'm trying to just drink water now so hopefully that might stop me drinking booze but thats another thing you cant drink alcohol so that helps! and i wanna lose weight on my stomach so sit ups all the way! might do a gym session tonight actually, so i think we need a list on here of roughly how much calories and fat are in foods, i could put it on the front post if any1 has any ideas what are the best and healthiest foods to eat? x
On my program my friends and I lost weight at first, but man that last month was brutal. As you start to spend more money on activities and try and cram in every little last bit of florida you can into your program the whole diet thing goes out the window. If you live at vista, you will soon realize how much easier it is to walk over to Wendys than to take the bus to walmart for groceries. As everyone knows bad food is always cheaper than the healthy stuff so the dollar menu really sucks ya in! My advice for walmart trips is this: fresh food will go bad before you even get a chance to eat it, buy frozen but buy healthy. You can buy individual packets of frozen veggies that pop into the microwave, and their frozen dinners are very cheap. The only problem with buying frozen is that if you are sharing an apartment with 5 other girls, the freezer gets jam packed! Also when buying groceries, think about how portable they are. You're likely only going to bring healthy snacks with you to the parks if theyre convenient to carry. And lastly, I'm not sure about the UK, but Ben and Jerrys Ice Cream costs an arm and a leg in Canada. I think we all died of shock a little bit when we could buy a tub of brownie batter/cookie dough ice cream for a few bucks. Dont get sucked in like I did lol stick to popsicles and non-cream based frozen goodies or else you'll blimp up like I did! hope that helps!
Hi guys i decided to join weight watchers to lose a bit of weight before i go. I lost 8lbs in a month (the only exercise i did was walk to uni which is 10 mins each way) then had a very trashy week so put some on again, planning on sticking to it properly from now on. All i can say is carbs are fine but they key is portion size really and you can have as much fruit and veg as you like. Meat wise chicken is best, steak can be very fattening, even mince which surprised me, i might consider becoming vegetarian and living off quorn haha xx
Ben and Jerrys went down to £2 over here which is about $3 dollars and i bought loads and it got me bored of it, score! lol
I went to Boxercise again on Wednesday... man you sweat a lot! Ended up paired with a guy as there was an odd number - but he tired before I did, so I felt a bit good about it! Best way I found to get to Walmart was to convince someone with a car to go after work - 2am Walamrt anyone? Seriousely though - living in Chatham/Patterson/even Commons(!) - it is less than half an hour to Publix - in the heat that is a nice walk! I didn't make it too often though, as I am UTTERLY terrified of snakes and that I might see one! Why I never went to the pool - my roommate saw a snake there (and apparently they lived in the bushes around our apartment, but she nicely didn't tell me that until the end! ) - once I saw one on the road - funny story now, but terrifying at the time Maybe that stress helped me lose a bit... I lost weight at the start, then kind of levelled off, then put it back on I think at the end - surplus of bad things that needed eating! xx
Yes - I was terrified I would see one everytime I went outside! I even checked the peephole before opening the door in case one was there... not sure what I would have done if there was one! xx
HAHA how were you going to see a snake through the peep hole!! Sorry but the whole thing makes me laugh... I shouldn't laugh... if you knew my fear of spiders..... And yes, they do have them in florida - we had one in the bathroom and I refused to get it out, my flatmates did it! Oh and I had a tiny weeny little lizard (about 5cm long) on my dressing table one day! It was cute! But I was in a ground floor apartment I dont think that helped...
Me too! I'm fine with snakes, lizards, whatever but spiders totttallly freak me. Please don't tell me there's loads of them :-\ I saw some pretty huge ones in Australia, literally about the size of my face and I couldn't do anything but cry!! xxx
awww gators are cute! but i'm scared of spiders being there now =[ i went to florida once for 2 weeks tho and i dint c any lol x
I'll have the spider then, keep it company. You can have all the snakes - sadly I won't come and visit. I wouldn't go to one of my friends houses for years because they had a snake. Ugh. Now I probably won't sleep - I become convinced they are on the floor and out to get me if I move - I was never scared of monsters as a child - just snakes! It's something that is stopping me going to the Australian outback - fear of snakes! (Oh, and lack of money....) I could have seen a snake through the peephole - as long as it wasn't right next to the door. Made sense in my head! Hopefully this time I won't be on the ground floor, I don't think snakes can climb stairs! xx
