LOL. My family is bad at it too. I knew something was going on but I thought it was just going to be my "bar friends" (They work at the bar we go to after our meetings so I met them. But don't go out and hang out or anything.) But then it turned out to be only one of the bar friends was there and the rest were all friends and family. Pretty neat. Wish we got better pictures and more. I did not dress up but I did wear a mickey shirt.

Kristy, the pictures made me chuckle. You guys looked great. That is awesome of your friends to do that. I told my friends I wanted a Pirate and Princess party the weekend I am leaving. And they were complaining they would have to go to the dollar sore and buy a tiara or a eye patch. LOL. And I bet that is why half of them arnt showing up. Man it will be so nice to get to a place where dressing up and going out just to celebrate something is not such an odd thing. :)

I cant believe how close it is. I am feeling MUCH better too so it is like a sudden jump in days for me. Tomorrow it will be two weeks for me. I will be at the air port waiting to go. Hope the weather is better. Anyone out there want anything from Canada? Anything they heard about but never had the chance to have? Not snow though. It will melt. LOL. I am starting my shopping today after my dentist appointment I think. It is a great way to let the freezing go down.

CANT WAIT TO MEET EVERYONE. *Does the lonely dance of joy.* LOL :D

Claire - don't worry I will be in tears too so we can all go and have a drink or something and drown our sorrows, even if it's drowing in a cup of tea!! My plan is to wear no make-up and then go to the Duty Free shop and get a makeover to cover up the red and puffy eyes!

Thanks for your nice comments about my party pics. We had a great time, although I got to nearly the end of the night and suddenly became really, really tired so I started to drag a little. I hope you guys have a great time on Saturday. It's sad to leave all of these people behind but at least we know that by making the effort, they all care and are happy for us :)

Sam, my cold literally went away the day before my party, I think it's that Disney magic creeping in! I'm sure you'll be fine, although you may turn into a giant orange like that girl in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory....hahaha lmao, I can see it now :p

Nykki, I love that you had a surprise party, even if it wasn't much of a surprise! And I know what you mean about people not dressing up. When I first thought about a party, my mum was saying that it's too much to organise and I thought they'd all complain about dressing up, because let's face it, although I may love Disney and know all the characters, they don't necessarily love them too! I was so impressed though, they all got really excited. However I did keep getting phonecalls saying "Is Shrek Disney?.....Is Ice Age Disney?....Is Babe Disney?" It seems that people thin pretty much all animated films are Disney!!

****2 WEEKS TODAY AND I'LL BE ON THE PLANE!!!****

Clark i work in payroll so i kinda of know a little bit about it.

You need to fill in a P85 and it is called Leaving the United Kingdom. You can get a copy off of the inland revenue website which is www.hrmc.gov.uk hope this helps.

You from Italy? If so I found a few Italian threads that might help. I don't know cause I know very little Italian. But I searched the "I797" for you. Hope this helps. It looks important, if you can contact the person who organized the interviews with you and they might be able to help more. It would not be good if you cant make it cause of some paper work. :( I cant quite tell which ones are good and which ones are just random talk about it I put one english one in their too. So at the end I put the search link.

Hope that helps you out Freddy. Looks like if you don't have it, call: +33 2 97841114 (International Services) and ask them to rush you another one. Hopefully you make it ok. You will need it for your Visa appointment. Let us know how it all goes.

Oooh Claire you fountain of knowledge! Do you know if this is used as a general form to claim back tax? I've been over-paying for the last year or so because of various tax code errors etc. If I just fill out this one form will that sort it out or is the P85 just one which makes sure we don't pay tax from now on?! I hate tax, it's so bloomin' complicated!

kirsty i am not 100% sure. its kinda hard to put into words but it basically works out how much tax you should have paid since april and if you have paid more(which is most likely) you will get money back. i have worked mine out cuz i can cuz i know how and i have overpaid by a few hundred!! woohoo!! haha!!

also Kirsty i have my insurance with insure and go. it was the cheapest one i could find. i have took the silver backpackers insurance. my dad looked over it and said that was the best one.

    hope this helps. xx

Thanks Claire, very helpful indeed! I will now call you my money guru :D

I have been working out my taxes etc and I have been on emergency tax for aaaaages cos one of my old employers went bust and refused to give me my P45 (as well as my pay! ) Anyway, I too am owed a couple of hundred squids which will come in handy once it comes through.

I'm booking with Insure and Go - also the silver package I think. I'm just looking online to see if I can find any voucher codes, I saw one which gave an additional 10% off! Yes, yes I am a tight wad!! lol

How's everyone getting on with packing etc? I really feel like I'm forgetting something, I just don't have that much to pack!

Thanks Clark, I'll look at their site, it was down yesterday. Insure and Go rang me today, they saw I'd enquired online and offered me a big discount to book today...I've now been offered the Gold package for £220! Bargain as there is absolutely no excess on that one ;D

My spare room is nicely organised (yeah right!) with all of my summer clothes and bits to pack. I'm currently looking for a poster tube, you know, those cardboard thingies, to put my photo collages in. I don't want them to get damaged in transit!

Oh btw, has anyone decided to take their own bedding? I was set on buying mine from Walmart which would be easy as I get there a day early but I have this feeling that my own duvet and covers would be more snuggly?! Any opinions?

Oh and P.S.........................ONLY 12 days to go!! Oh and has anyone seen the weather over there at the moment?? Clear skies, temp at 17C today, 22C until Saturday, and this is November people!! :D

    Hey :D

I know the weather is amazing itlike our summer!! I dont know wheather to bring my winter coat tho...any suggestions??

I agree with you kirsty about the duvet thing, but it would take up so much room. I dont know about vaccuming it, thats would prob work however i have not got a clue how to do that! Think im going to be lazy and and wait until walmart.

Have yoiu checked the post office for poster tubes? If not you can prob get them in photo stores or deff online. You can get them at the big post offices! Thats a good idea about the collages. Id klove to do that . Im hoping to have the time and get lots of pics of friends and family printed to decorate my wall in but i am leving too much to the last minute. May have to do with my laptop to look at pics.

Doe sanyone know when you can get flags from? I know it seems really daft but i wann get me a little UK flag. Sad thing is i probably wont even put it up and use it to pretend im some sort of superhero (cape) and im deff taking postcards of where im from (Brighton)..Postcards make it looks so much nicer!

    Is anyone taking their laptops??

    xx

Bring a rain jacket and plenty of sweaters. It can get cool at night over the winter. Don't bring a winter coat as it takes up too much room and you wont need it much. They supply you with a coat at work, so you can wear that one on nights you work late or early mornings.

And I am so brining my laptop. If it works or not is another story. LOL. It has worked on and off in my travels since I have had it and so I only hope I don't have problems with it when I get there. I need to clean it off though. I got so much stuff on it from my artwork, and old photoshop files. It will take more organizing then my room. LOL.

YAY for 12 more days. Still does not seem real. I keep watching and hoping it is good weather for take off. Not too worried about Florida. They seem to always be nice in the winter. But don't want to have to wait though deicing cause takes so long. (Plus I have this fear of my flight getting later then it is.) LOL

Cant wait to see you all? Two weeks from now we will all be waking up after our first night in our new apartments. (Or perhaps still sleeping. Depending on when the meeting are.) Really weird to think of huh. :)

lol I can't believe it, it still feels like I'm preparing for a holiday!

Good news, I bought my medical insurance today and got the Gold backpackers policy from Insure and Go for the bargain price of just over £200!! Now I just have to pack and sort my room. Oh and Nykki, like you, I also have to clear my laptop of all the old files. I think it will take me aaaaaaages!

Sam, I got my poster collage thingies through photobox online. I only do those things when they have an offer on. You should have a roam online and find some. What I've done as well is sorted my photos on my laptop and put all my favs into one file. I'm going to use some free printing vouchers or just print them in Walmart - its really cheap. Don't worry, you can do most of the things you want to do here over there! So if you get behind, we can just take a trip to Walmart and print thousands of photos!!! ;D

My friends gave me a Disney Princess print to put up on my wall and got me a small England flag too! My other friend got me a load of postcards of local places. My mum is really into photography, she takes pics of the local area and makes them into cards to send to people so she's made me a few up too!

I read on another forum earlier that the temp hit -1C the other day, I think this was early morning though, but it just shows how mixed the Florida weather is this time of year.

Sam, I really can't wait to meet you at the airport. It feels like I've known you for years!! We're going to have such a giggle. And don't worry about not liking the take-off part, I'll do a little dance or something to keep you distracted! :D

Holiday....lalala (i know you cant here me but i was singing Madonna Holiday) dum de.

I bet that feeling will last for a week haha and then we'll be excited about when our next days off are...Im so excited about Cowboys..It seems to be very popular over there. I went last time, but it wasnt that well known..It AMAZING.....A guy made a cowboy hat out of budweiser box...genius i say!

Im loving the walmart idea. I think it would b wise, otherwise ill be running around like a blue arsed fly..not a good sight for sore eyes i tell you now.

I cant believe its was -1C..its colder than here, then again they dont have the wind like we do...I think ill take my winter jacket..Ill just take it on the plane. Its only a black one its not a handy thermal thing that i should have in the winter!

I know its so weird, but really nice at the same time. Im not nervous about meeting you. It seems that i havent seen you for a while not like EVER..haha You get so close to people so quickly out there. Deffo freinds for life!!!

lol well Sam, we've now taken over 2 threads!! Are we craaaaaaaazy or what?!

It was the scariest thing just then...literally as soon as I opened the post and saw the first word you had written, I started singing "Holiday" by Madonna in my head as I read it!! Spooky dooky

I'll probs take my coat too as it's the only one I have. I'm a hard core gal, I usually just wear a t-shirt or jumper...never a coat! Wouldn't it be funny if we arrived in Orlando to find a snow storm? Hahaha that would be awesome. I tell you, I'm very excited to see snow on Mainstreet in MK. Actually, who am I kidding, I'm so excited to see all the Christmas decorations...I bet it's magical!

Oh, I almost forgot, I just booked a table in the Rose and Crown for some of my Dad's friends who are having their first ever WDW trip in December. How weird is it that I might actually get to seat them in the restaurant?! :)
