Nykki, I've never seen WDW at Christmas either. In fact one of the things I'm looking forward to the most is taking my time to explore the resorts and take lots of pretty pictures! I'm also more than willing to cook a Christmas dinner, even if its not on Christmas Day! Anyone else up for it?

I've started going trough my clothes today and have pilled what I want to take on my bed, it's not too much actually. Oh and my passport and visa arrived this morning!! Yippeee I can now officially go to Florida! ;D xxx

 

Oh me me me. LOL. I can help out if you need it. I am not the best cook but good at following directions. I am the same. We should get together and check out the resorts and such. I love picture taking. It will be a dream come true to see Disney at Christmas.

I need to start that. We are getting super warm here for the next two days then it drops again. I don't think it will be coming back up this high so then I am going to start packing my clothes. That will be a great feeling.

 

i can't believe that it is less than a month til we go. i go to get my visa on monday! but i have a slight problem........when i fill in the form on the net and click continue and error comes up everytime!! ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!! what should i do???!!!!

Wow count me in guys for your christmas photo adventure around the Disney World, sounds amazing. I bet its amazing. I went to Disneyland Paris last year for my birthday and they made it so magical at xmas time, they even had snow come out from somewhere..It was AMAZING..I bet Magic Kingdom will be out of this world..

Claire dont worry, it ssaid on the form before you click to accept it onto your screen that an error may occur and in that instance just wait a few hours and it should be ok. Dont worry u will be fine and it will be done in time. Cant wait now! We,ve even got our own little flight page on facebook...eeek.

OMG i am sooo pleased you mentioned roast. I will be with you both helping out. Im gonna miss my mums roast dinners so much its untrue..mashed swede and apple sauce...im just getting a lil too excited. You can tell i love food hahah! So are you guys taking anything with you that you cant get over there? So far i am deffo taking bisto gravy, oxo cubes and i really wanna take robinsons squash but its too heavy. OOooh and ive made sure my parents or boyfreind send me milky ways , Gadburys fudges and heat atleast one evry 2months...Wow i sound like a right binge fooder..im not that bad, just gonan miss the little things! ;D

Xsam... when is your birthday. I turn 23 on Jan. 8th. I remember hearing there was many around the same time.

Ohhhh Ya. Magic Kingdom at Christmas. Our first wishes as cast members will be the Christmas ones. I am so excited to see that. I have not seen wishes from a point I could see the castle since I was like 12 years old. So I wanna be where I can see the castle. LOL. Last time i was there I was caught off guard by them waiting in line for Splash Mountain. I love seeing all the Christmas stuff in stores right now cause it means finally I will be in Disney.

So you guys get to fill out your Visa stuff ahead of time? Did any of you get it as a hard copy at all where it has all our names attached to it?

Ohhhh. Soooo Hungry. All this talk of yummy food. Sounds like it will be great. I am not sure what I am bringing. Maybe Timmies coffee but I don't drink coffee... but someone else who does might enjoy them. Other then that I believe there is an order for all Canadians to bring Ketchup chips and Dill Pickle chips I believe it is. Most stuff other then that we can get in the states. They have all kinds of weird things there. Their cereal isle freaks me out sometimes with all the new strange things I never heard of.

May I make a request for someone from the UK to bring. When I had my friends from Wales come to visit back in the summer, and we went to the movie theater they were disgusted by our popcorn. I had never heard someone not liking ours so I am interested in trying this other popcorn. If anyone is wondering what to bring, someone should bring some popcorn so I can try it. Not sure if they come in the same packs we got here.

Youngsters! Im 24 ;D Will be 25 in Feb!

So hows everyone doing with things? Got my visa back on Saturday. Only thing left to do which is a bit of a headache is selling my Car! i leave in 24 days! ??? Without selling it im in serious trouble! I need the money to pay off my £500 credit card. And I still have no savings. Ah well.

Still have to pack and stuff .But my last working day is Next Friday. And I can not wait! Will spend the weekend partying and then packing, buying, selling etc until November 29th when I go down to Dublin for the worst night of my life so far. My last one with my Fiancee until December 23rd - 30th and then the weeks until she moves out to work in March :'(

Anyway. Where are all the early birds staying? Im in the Hyatt ;D How much cash is everyone taking out? At the minute its looking like $1000 for me. Dam the exchange rate! Really wanted double that to be comfortable for a while.

Well, not long to go now folks, I am officially excited again this week (it keeps changing from excitement to nervousness!). Most of my packing is sorted, I went through my wardrobe this weekend and sorted out stuff I wanted/could throw away. Surprisingly it looks like I won't be taking that much stuff with me?! Very odd. I was expecting to have to ask for more baggage allowance!

My savings are rubbish. Much like you Clark I am trying to pay off some money - my uni overdraft before leaving, which I know isn't going to happen, so I plan to get into service ASAP and pay some off from working in Florida. At the moment I have about $300 cash and have put about £400 into a Nationwide account as they don't charge for use of cards abroad so I will just take the debit/credit card with me and use money from there. Also, it's easy for my family to pay money into it at Christmas etc!

Has anyone decided on which American bank they will go with? I like the idea of having a Disney cheque book but have also heard that SunTrust are the bank to go with??

Clark - Sam, Claire and I are staying at the Quality Inn near Downtown Disney and will possibly head over to DTD for some dinner the night we get there. I think we'll be at our hotel around 7pm if all goes well. I'm sorry you're having to leave your fiancee behind, it sucks doesn't it, leaving partners in the UK. Is she doing the CRP too though? That'll be great for you if she is!

I think Claire and Rachel have their visa appointments today...Good Luck guys!!!

 

LOL. I was wondering too. LOL. All the new people getting in are excited I guess. It is so fun to watch them get accepted. I remember what it was like. Holy cow it has almost been 10 months since the Canadian interviews. On Dec. 2 will be the 10 month mark from when I had the interviews. Wow so long ago.

I have hardly started in packing. But that reminds me I need to make a packing list. I have unfortunately been so pre occupied. It may be helping time go faster but it is running my time to get things done.

I think that is awesome Clark that she got in. When I saw that I was happy for you. I hear of so many people having a hard time cause of not having their other half with them. It will drive you to stay cause you know she will soon be with you. Too bad it was not February or something closer. But at least you know she is coming. You will be able to show her around.

I have yet to really think too much about it. Most people down there I know went with the Disney bank. We get a whole boring presentation with them on like or third day in our apartments. But it is certainly something to think about before hand so you pick what is right for you. I need direct deposit. I would hate having to spend my day off all the time going to cash my pay cheque.

Wow. Wont be long till we are moving in. Any ideas of places people want to go on Dec. 2nd for a night time thing. Anyone interested in going out for Dinner or something. It would be a great way to meet those who have not already met up yet. We could go to DTD or even just out for a fast food supper... or later supper. Or if Supper does not interest anyone maybe a Wal Mart Party. LOL. I can get my friend to tell us the bus schedules for that day if anyone is interested in that? I cant even remember if we talked about this on here. Maybe we did and I am just silly. I talk so many places I forget what was said where. I know in our group on facebook it has been mentioned.

 

Aww Nykki your gonna be 23 too. We can suffer together...My bday is the 10th December. I think i will try and forget it or maybe pretend its my 21st!

I cant wait to see verything all decorated with xmas stuff! So excited. I must say Nykki i am intrigued with this popcorn chat. All i can say is maybe your friend was talking about the toffee or sweet popcorn we do over here. If thats the case i will be sure to bring you some!!!

Oh does anyone know if you can get Baileys in USA? As i may have to buy soem duty free at the airport!! Its a christmas must have im afraid!

I LOVE the idea of having an arrivcala group get-together. However, having spoken to a few people already down there, they say that you're actually quite busy on the first night so do it a few nights in? On the other hand....I say screw this, let's party! Haha. Luckily as we're getting there a day early we will be setled by the time you guys arrive so we can help carry everyone else's stuff!

Maybe on our first night we can get a cab to Walmart...I'm pretty sure there is a McDonald's in there anyway! Or, something classier and go to DTD for a proper meal and cocktails (...Sam ). LOL

Sam I also want to get a Universal pass, I mentioned it to my Mum and Dad and they said it'd be a good Christmas present for me...woop woop. Oh and speaking of money stuff, I had a major shock today. I went to pay a cheqe in to my bank and they said there was a note on there saying that the Manager would like me to make an appointment with them......that can't be good right?! Eeeek, as far as I'm aware I am not horribly overdrawn, haven't had late payments etc so I am really scared about this!

On to happier news, my costume for my leaving party arrived and it looks sooooo cool. My friend is making a Wall-E costume from scratch I can't wait, it's gonna be so fun!

Oh Sam, I almost forgot, don't forget to go to the British Airways website and enter your passport info etc before we travel, apparently it's a new requirement?!

Sam - It's crazy isn't it, I feel like I've known you for ages and we've not even met yet! I guess it must be the Disney magic getting to us already

I am of course having a Disney themed party and am of course going as Minnie Mouse, the original girly costume. Although, having tried on my outfit last night, I may have to change the name to "Slutty Mouse"...it's a little shorter than I imagined it to be. I guess I should have realised when I ordered it from an ebay seller called "ebaylingerie"?!?!

Poor Ben bought a Jack Sparrow costume yesterday, I was so impressed with him as he decided on it all by himself. I should point out that he a) HATES dressing up and b) HATES Disney!! I know, I know...I said the two words you should never say on a Disney loving site but there you go. I WILL turn him into a Disney freak if it kills me

Apparently my friend's WALL-E costume is amazing, I'm so excited to see it! I think my brother might also go as Buzz Lightyear, with wings and everything. I will obviously post pics on facebook at the weekend.

We were all bowling on our Wii last night and decided it would be a great idea to go bowling for real in our costumes before heading into town on Saturday, although I'm not sure how serious we were but I think it would be soooooo funny!

I am definitely hoping that someone has left me a load of money...then I can take us all out in Florida!! Haha.

Ooooh also, I went on the Simpsons ride in the summer and I'm afraid I have to say that I prefer the old BTTF ride . It was good but we had a huge wait in the queue and they kept forgetting to load our line! When the whole line complained, we didn't get any fast passes or anything...something I'm sure Disney would have done!

Haha its funny that you say that, as when matt and I went to Universal last year the staff where really rude and we kept on saying, 'well youwouldnt get that at Disney'. Sooooo true!

OMG NO my party is not at my house! I could never do that, I would be so afraid something would break. If I live dalone I wouldn't care but I can't handle facing the wrath of the parents!! lol We're going into Bristol but a load of us will probs meet at my house first and share lifts in. Don't you worry there will be hundreds of pics on Sunday and I'll put them up as soon as my hungover head allows me to!

Mmmmm...that McDonalds was good and well deserved I feel. Well I am supposed to work 8.00am til 4.00pm but I'm usually in from about 7.50am. It's good though because I am a temp I can claim every last minute I work and get paid for it, so the more the better! I haven't yet left before 4.20pm though as I share an office with another person who also works in a second office and I can't leave the switchboard until she's back in my office....very confusing!

At the moment I am working for a company which manufacture packaging machinery...ooooooh aaaaaaaah... :

As I said, I'm a temp so I'm pretty much doing a different job every 2-3 weeks! This one is definitely not the best . I have to say though that temping has taught me a lot, it has taught me about the kinds of jobs I DON't want to do in the future and that it's really important to want to get up and go to work and be excited/happy to be there. Hopefully my next job will be like that....because it's in WDW!! ;D

Ok so ya did confuse me about the job..Its very confusing. It takes time for some things to sink into my brain so ill probably get it later.

I think id go mad if i had to do different temp job every week. Dont think i have the confidence. I can be quite around adults sometimes (old biddys) Im a temp but im working on the same thing and the same area..Thank g0d!...Yes our work will be exciting and we will b able to go and talk to people and b generally happy...compared to the lot i work with now thats a miracle....

I do have to admit tho...I iwll miss things about this job as the hours are so flexible i can go to the gym after work and not get back soo late i have to go to bed..I think i will miss that but id rather be in Disney than here thats for sure!

Im doing Maturity (nothing mature about them) packs at the mo..Its sooo unbelievably boring! I just have to arraneg a letter to a customer saying that they retire soon and if they want a quote..Its sooo FUN...FUN FUN FUN!

I know its sad ... and awful but i actually have a security blanket from when i was a baby..hahah..its only at home tho as in my first year of uni my mates hid it from me..Its only around when im on my own...Im not helping myself am i???

Oh Sam you're such a rebel! lol I'm ok cos I'm in the office alone so I just have to minimise the screen if I hear someone coming....like now..............

Ok, they've gone! This job is one of my worst, I just don't care about it and therefore have no drive to be here. I'm just in charge of the phone/switchboard and do the odd bit of typing for people as and when they need it. So if nobody calls or needs stuff done I have nothing to do!

My last job was my favourite. I was only there for 2 1/2 weeks but I was on reception and working as a PA at a big Financial Management company...they were RICH. I'm talking Jaguars, Audi's and Aston Martin's in the car park...mmmmmmm hmmmmmmmm! I got on really well with the 3 ladies I worked with and they gave me presents when I left

Ah well, I only ever have to last for a few weeks so it's not too bad. And I really have learnt lots and become more confident. Actually I was pretty confident in the first place haha!!

I'm getting my suitcases out tonight and putting stuff in that I won't be using before I leave such as photos, shoes, summer clothes etc. I think I'm going to copy a few of my DVDs to take, but I have so many it's hard to choose! Also all my photos and music from my computer will be put on my laptop to take. Other than that I think it's just photos and a cuddly duck which means nothing to anyone except me and Ben!

Oh and btw, I too had a blanket like that. It was my bed cover as a baby and I kept it in my bed until this year. I never snuggled it tbh, I kept it by my feet in bed so it would keep them warm lol!! I threw it away just before my 21st as I kne wI couldn't take it to Florida and it was so tatty...so I decided I should probably grow up. I miss it though, it was called baby!

 

Ok ok no jokes please..But mine was /is called sucky...Only becasue i use to (this seems to weird) suck it when i was a BABY! No i dont cuddle it but its in my bed when im on my own..Or that would be embarrassing..(she say writing this on a forum) I dont think i could every throw 'him' (just kidding) away tho ...too many kiddy memories....

Cuddle duck..does one need to know? hahaha..Kinda cute tho!

Id love to work for a PA firm! Thats must have been sooo good..and you gor presents...I love presents..Im getting me a job there!!! When im back ofcourse!

Yeah..I odnt think i have time to do all that, but maybe...Im deff taking some dvds..i too have soo many so gonna have to be a trciky situation..Think Home alone 1 & 2 has too be in there for the xmas season!!! Arrgh i have soo much to do...

Oooh i paid my assessment fee last night! Thought i may aswell get that out of the way..Not too bad. Think its about £50. Im doing some kind of survey for 02 next week in Brighton and get paid £40 so thats something.

20 days left! Have everyone sorted out insurance and all the paper work? I can honestly say that filling out the visa appointment applications and find the right insurence is probably the most boring thing i have done so far in 2008! I used a hole day and quikly needed some optimistic words from my mom, and of course some beers to help me concentrate ;D

I have my visa appointment in Oslo the 17th! Afraid something will happen.. That i didn't fill out the application right or something!

And what about starting a topic about packing? I could certainly need some tips for that! I probably won't pack untill i really need to, but i will try my best! :
