December 2nd Crowd Update

Just had a look down the list of names on the Visa application. I am in fact the only male going out from the UK.

So ladies, not all at once please.

Everyone keeps calling me Citywalk As much as thats a cool name. My names Clark. But people call me a multitude of things ;D

Anyone buying anything special for heading out to Florida? I mean I dont even have a digital camera! If I had one there would be fewer pictures of me, I'd be behind the lens

I didn't realise how many people are going on our arrival date, until I had that email from Kristin at Yummy with everyone's contact details.

In preperation I have bought a new set of suitcases and some VERY cheap summer skirts from New Look which was closing down....a steal at £7 for 5 items of clothing!

I bought some new hair straighteners yesterday as mine broke and found out today that they are multi-voltage so can be used in the states - total fluke but I guess that saves me buying more over there!

Clark, I just re-read your comment about the camera...I'm sensing you may be a bit of a cheeky chappy?!

 

Clark, sorry too spoil the excitment of you been the only guy but we have another one on the bandwagon from the UK.

I cannot believe that in 5 weeks were leaving. I don't feel many emotions except nerves.

I won't lie too you all...... I started packing the other day but got a grip of the situation and unpacked. haha!

Good news though. At least they'll be another bloke! Im currently the only man on shift in work and have been for 4 and half years

Rachel - You are so funny!! I too keep wanting to start packing, just so I can see how much space I have and how much I realistically want to take.

My task this weekend is to clear my laptop of all the slow, unused programs and load up all my music and photos which I want to take with me. My laptop is old so it could take a while!

Oh and Sam - I found Snappy Snaps and got my pictures done! I only got 2 for £7 though How many pics do you think we need? Is 2 enough?

 

Kirsty your a bargain hunter! I wanna buy lots of skirts for £7...Theres always primada, altho i can never find anything i like. Yeah twos plenty! I had 4 last time and they only used one or two. Its only for your pic in your passport! My snappy snaps has now closed down so i am on a new mission to begin the hunt.. any suggestions?..Why cant we just use traditional passport pics aye.

I feel so unorganised. I really wanna get my pics developed but it still hasn't sunk in that we leavein 4 weeks...i need someone to slap me around the face...

Hehe, I swear that was pure luck finding that New Look sale!! And what's even better is that I got home and tried on one of the skirts and saw that I was given one of the kids hangers with it....I thought this was weird so looked at the lable and found that I had bought an AGE 14 skirt instead of a SIZE 14 skirt!! lmao...I bought kiddies clothes! And what's even better is that they fit too

As for where to get your pics, I was told to go onto the embassy website and type "photographer" into the search box - it will give a list of places all over the country where they do the pics. I found it funny because one of the first places was in a small town near where I live, not exactly a high profile place!

 

UK Merchies get your butts over here! we're so understaffed atm! lol how many of u lot are in merch? i was told theyl be 4 to 6 of you!

 

I have swapped on too merch now. Not sure how many others are on merchandise. But our arrival group is pretty big i think in comparison too others. FOUR WEEKS!!

How is everyone doing? Halloween tonight....a very scary night! I'm about to go out and buy some chocolate for the kids, it's freeeeeeezing here though so I don't really want to leave my warm house! Oh I almost forgot...I had SNOW this week, it was amazing, I'm so glad I had some before going to Florida

 

It is suddenly warm today. We have a warm week coming up. 14 tonight for the kids. I am happy I always hated wearing a coat for halloween. We arnt doing much Halloween stuff at our place but I am heading over next door and having my halloween there. I got the flu shot this morning, I figured if I will be around so many people I should get it. So many people are getting sick over there right now. So hopefully that wont effect me in the next few days.

Same here with the snow. I was so worried for some reason I would not see any. Winter is my fav. time of year. I love the cold over the heat.. but I love Disney more then the cold I guess. LOL. I will probably get to see some more too. As long as it is nice leaving. De-iceing the plane takes so long I would be mad if I had to be delayed any longer then I already am. LOL. Wow almost a month away and we will be meeting each other in Florida. Such a weird feeling it is.

 

I feel exactly the same as you Nykki! I love the winter, it's my favourite time of year. I like waking up to the smell of cinnamon, christmas tress, the fire roaring etc. That's what I'm going to miss the most this christmas

I'm booking my insurance today and hire car and then...it's all done! I'm going to be really sad and get my suitcases out today too so i can see how much room I have for all my bits and bobs. I need to make more room for fancy dress stuff!

 

Ooooooh i lopve winter too. Kirsty you nearly brought a tear to my eye. I love waking up and its cold outside but your tucked up nice and warm inside, and you can smell your mum cookin a roast. And the smell you get at this time of year from everyones chimneys ..Oh and Mulled Wine......

Can i ask where everyones getting their insurance from. As usual im leaving it to the last minute and my dads now getting on my back..blah blah....He even said to me today (the cheek) if you where seriously ill just get on a flight back to England as it would be cheaper hahah...lil bumhead he is!

I think for my insurance I am going with the one Yummy suggest - it's not too expensive and I know it covers everything we need. Plus if Yummy are recommending them, they must be a reasonable company!

I'm gonna have to take a pic of my bed in a sec, it's covered in all the stuff I want to take, so I can see what I'm going to have to try and pack! I've convinced the boyfriend he wants to spend my ladt weekend here with me...he doesn't yet know that he will be packing my stuff!! ;D

I like your thinking..Poor man isnt gonna know whats hit him. Does he live in your area or does he come from another county? I havent even thought about packing.Except my shoes. I have decided im only going to take a couple. I love heels but ya dont really wear them. Its gonna be tough...Not that im shoe obsessive but I hate feeling short when i go out...maybe i can get you to grab one leg and claire the other and you can stretch them...

Oooh how much is yummys insurance? If its less than £200 i may go with them. I went with them last time.THere ok, but im all about the less exspensive the more im happy.. I need money for Walmart.Are you taking your sheets with you or just buying when you get out cthere? I think im going to buy some when im there!

Nah, Ben lives in the next village to me so only a 5 min drive, we see eachother most days which is why it's going ot be hard. We've never had time away to get used to being apart!

I know exactly what you mean about the shoe thing. I'm only 5'2 so the extra few inches from heels are very helpful! I'll probs just take one pair and wear the same ones all the time!!

As for Walmart, I'm gonna buy my sheets, food, hair dryer, towels and work shoes from there on our first day I think as we'll have time in the morning to get it all.

Btw Sam, do you like how this has become our own personal thread?! We seem to be the only people chatting on here.....bored at work perhaps?! LOL xxxx

It will be hard at first but it willl get easier. Matt and I pretty much live with each other. Only since the last couple of months. ive been making the most of having a boyfriend for the time being. I get worrid he may not be able to cope, butr thats a long and boring story in itself.

I wish Dorothy would lend me her red shoes right now becasue i want to go home and watch Home Alone, with yummyness........... 40 mins to go...WOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

LOL. Better then no conversaion. It feels more real now that we got a group going and that we are on the message board more. Go Dec. 2nd. We are not just some month way down the road.

I think I will miss Christmas at home too. I run an online art Secret Santa. And to not wake up at 4am and send out all the pictures will be quite sad. But at the same time I have never seen Disney World at Christmas. So I am so very excited to experience that. Even if I will be working. LOL we all have to learn how to work there at the busiest time of year. Guess if we can make it though our first month we can do anything.

So when are you guys done work for the year? I finished mine Nov. 1st. Best feeling in the world. I have way too much to do though. I only just payed my program assessment fee. (Is that the same as the housing fee? I have had mind blank all day and my e-mails are on my desktop computer which I hate going on cause it is just awkward. LOL.)

I sooo wish I could finish work on Nov 1st. I need all the money I can get so altho im really slacking in the organisation front my last day isnt until 21st Nov..I have a feeling im going to regret that when were working our butts off at WDW.

Yeah your Assesment fee is the housing fee..which i have to do too..Argh so many things...I havent got my insurance yet either.Infact im going to try not to think about it for now as ill just panick.

So is everyone 21 here or younger? I was looking at the birthdays for everyone and felt really old. Im sure i saw a 1990.. actually i cant have! I know your an old woman Kirsty too! mwahahaha...Just casue they ut you in wellness apt . Wonder if there sepearate blocks? cant remember.
