Hey guys...Hope everyones all well and getting more excited..whoop whoop...

I need some help..Im a little confused about insurance...Do Disney pay for the first 4 months and then we can either pay for the 8 months with Disney insurance still or 8 months with our own...Im so unorganised I really nedd to get my arse in gear really....

Nykki-- I havent heard that anyone has recieved their packs yet..What does it involve? Visa forms etc?

Kirsty- I can not believe your selling your DVDs that to me is hardcore.. I love my dvds i could never part with them..Maybe i could sell my VHS..I wonder how much I would get for that?.. 2 p a video??

For the UK people When do u think your all going to go to London for your visa? Im thinking we should try and all meet up and go thge same day. Would b nice meeting beforehand? Its probably not for a long time anyway..

    In reply to Sam's question....

    HELL YEAH, I'M EXCITED!!! lol

Don't worry Sam, I'm only selling DVDs I haven't watched for months, I don't really need them and it's making me a little extra money. Only a little, but it all helps. And of course I am keeping all my Disney DVDs!

As far as insurance goes, I understood it as us having to have the first 4 months of insurance bought and paid for BEFORE we go, otherwise we won't get our visas/be let in to work as it is a US requirement to have medical insurance. After the 4 months is up, so I think for us its the 1st April 2009, Disney insurance kicks in if we want it, IT IS NOT FREE! It will be paid for weekly, out of our pay checks just like our housing pay is taken out each week. From what I've seen, it's better value just to buy a year's worth of insurance before going so that it's all done and dusted. Although I have no idea which company to use myself!

Citywalk - if you're in the area, maybe you could meet Sam, Claire and I the evening we get in at Downtown Disney or something for some food? I'm looking now at where to stay for that first night.

Nykki - We don't get our visas the same way you do. We have to wait until our last few weeks before we are allowed to book an appointment at the embassy in London. There, they ask us questions about our jobs etc and then if approved, send us back our visas literally just before we go!

Just in case anyone is interested....I looked online at annual passes for Universal and Seaworld (cos once again I am BORED at work! lol) and Universal's, for both parks, is only $114.95. Seaworld do a $69.95 fun card, which is effectively a day pass but if you go to guest services when you use it, they will upgrade it to a years pass for FREE!

What's everybody up to? Anyone started packing/shopping/buying fancy dress stuff for Monday nights?! Hope you're all well  :) xxx

I got my pack but no Visa. I have pics on facebook and on my online journals if anyone wants to see. LOL. It is weird cause Kristen called it my Visa pack so I will e-mail her tomorrow and find out more. :) I do feel lucky about our Visa stuff though. I have always thought of you guys in other countries and the stress in worrying about Visa stuff, Appointments and getting it on time. :( It scares me with that is that is always the one thing that can stop you and till you have that, you just don't know.

I have never been to sea world but I really want to go. Universal is pretty cool. I am getting a annual pass there for sure. :) Those are pretty good prices considering we will probably be going often, once we have gone to Disney World for our 500th time. LOL. (It is weird to think of how many times we will be able to just "Go to Disney World." :) )

I got a few things so far. Mainly Canadian stuff. I went out today to get some clothes for Disney. I leave this Thursday for a trip out to Calgary for my cousin's wedding (which I am a bridesmaid for) so I am going to start putting all my summer clothes in my suit case after that trip cause we are starting to get cool enough that I am wearing a jacket more then a t-shirt and the pool next door is clothes so bathing suit can go in the luggage too. :) Anyone actually finding time going slow? I cant believe how fast it has gone. Almost too fast. But I cant wait to meet you guys and be in Disney World. I just hope it slows down when I get there. :)

Whoop whoop...Ok so im getting a little excited thinking about the Shamu dance.....

    Hey all.

Im booked into the Hyatt Grand Cypress 30th-2nd. So i'll be close to Downtown Disney.

At the minute my insurance is going to be from insureandgo. Gap Year insurance. Unless I stumble across something cheaper than the £215 they want. But to be honest, i"m fed up looking!!!

I couldnt sleep last night..... 4am - realized I am moving to Florida NEXT MONTH!
Still have to sell my car.
Go through all the crap out I have accumulated that I dont need and throw it out
    Pay off £1000 of debt
    Save
    Get a Visa
    Pay for medical insurance
Book a hotel room at Dublin Airport

and so on and so on.....

Starting to get worried about this visa thing. Wish I could just get it over and done with.

I just need to get my insurance..More money to pay out..groan :(

I dont understant the visa thing. Are we waiting for another pack so we can then arrange it? I have no idea whats going on...How bad is that!

I am soooooooooooo excited! These 2 months are gonna fly by..The sad thing is i found myself thinking and hoping that my roomates will put a xmas tree up...Whats that about?

Cant wait to meet you guys!

Oh my friends out there at the mo and she said that there was 10 in their arrival group and half of them where put in the commons and the others in Patterson!

Right insurance. I need to get all that sorted out too. My Visa is processing at Disney so I am glad it is on the go. I just got back from Calgary so I have to repack for summer weather now since there is not much left here.

It is so weird that most of us have been waiting for 9 months or so... or atleast till we leave. Looking back it went by so fast. I thought it was going to crawl by. But here we are. Less then 2 months now and we will be in Florida together. I get more and more excited each day.

This month is my last month of work. I have November off to get everything ready to go and say my goodbyes. And possibly help out at my former high school with their play. They are doing Cinderella, and it will be on the weekend before I leave. I thought it was all so ironic. So I am going to see it forsure.

Well here we go guys and gals from the UK. The Visa process has begun ;D

Got an email from yummy today about the whole process. Reading through it a few times to make sure im doing things in the right order! The way i have read it so far is. Book your appointment and fill in some forms before the appointment date

or maybe the visa process hasnt begun?

Totally confussed after getting that email from Yummy jobs with Visa instructions attached.

It says included in your pack is I-797? - Nope, that will no doubt arrive in the post?

It also says book your appointment now. So I phoned up only to be told that i needed a case number? Its in the top left hand corner of th I-797 form. Which i dont have. ???

The email also contains a visa petition receipt number. Whats this for?

Start of Process and im already baffled.

I also had a look at the form you fill out before your interview DS-156. Seems to be straight forward apart from one question.
Have you visited the US before - When. Problem. Yes I have! 4 times in the last 5 years, easy. However i have also been a number of times when I was younger and I have no idea how many times or the dates of those times, plus it was under my parents passport. What will i fill in here???

Well, you sound exactly like me! I'm still trying to pay off £1000 of uni debt at the same time as save for Florida (I want about £500 - £1000), pay for insurance and a day in Londond for the visa appointment etc. I didn't realise it would all add up quite so much! Don't forget guys and gals that we have to pay a $85.50 housing fee, I'm going to try and do that before I go so that I know it's done and that any cash I take with me is for me to spend in Walmart lol!

Citywalk - your insurance, is that mecical or travel? Does it cover all the stuff that Yummy say needs covering? If so, that's a great deal which I may have to check out myself )

I am really getting excited now, as well as a little scared - the odd dreams have started to occur! But in some ways it feels like I am just going on holiday. I keep forgetting that my bedroom will be empty for a WHOLE YEAR...it's going to be weird, deciding on what to take and what to leave. What's everyone's must have items to take? I think mine are photographs.

Hope everyone's well....................oh and just thought I'd point this out.....WE'RE IN THE 40's!!!!!!

    VISA APPOINTMENTS

Well guys and gals, we can now sort our visas!

Does anyone want to try to arrange appointments on the same day, so that we can meet up? If so, when is everyone free? If there's a few of us we could always share the cost of staying in London over night if we need to.

I'll get the ball rolling....I'm free ANY weekday in November and am happy to go whenever it suits. :)

anyone actually booked there visa date yet? I called up and was told it was to early to book November in Belfast

Ok lets just get the record straight here: You do NOT want to book the visa appointment until november. WHY? because then your visa could expire before program ends. And if you want to extend your stay it is good to have a working visa. What you want to do right now is to pay the assesment fee and the insurance. Do not worry about the visa.. I did this program in 06-07 and I was just the same way but I ended up doing all this worrying for nothing.

Chris10an - I don't think any of us are planning to book our appointmetns for October, as far as I know we're all booking for appointments in late November as we were told by MIchele at Yummy jobs. We're just trying to organise dates when we're all free so we can meet up! Thanks for the info though, hope you enjoyed your programme :)
