December 2nd Crowd Update

You get gifts?! No fair!

Actually, I suppose I have only worked here for 2 weeks as holiday cover so can't expect much. Although I did get given a whole bag of Wispas and some Miniature Heroes at my last placement...but they were cool! I'm now their friend on facebook...go me! lol

Is anyone else finding it weird that the next job we have will be in Disney World baby?! How very exciting to be able to wake up every day and know that you're going to have a great day at work. Maybe not a great entire shift, but you can pretty much guarantee that at some point during your shift, you will really be enjoying yourself and making magic! WOWZA!!! ;D

I really only have about $500 properly saved but am expecting some holiday pay payments to be made to my account in my first week in Florida which will be a nice addition to the bank account!

Oooh Sam, I made sure I had lots of coins for our little road trip to and from the airport.....bloody toll roads! We usually go a different way to avoid them but have never used a map for this. As I'm driving alone I think it would be safer just to suck it up and pay the $2 toll instead!!

Also, you may like to know that I have decided....I WILL be visiting Ronald for lunch today. The last time I went they had no milkshakes on This time...I WANT ONE!!!

Ooooh Kirsty's on a mission..A MCDONALD Mission (Que music)..I think you should write a letter if they cant give you a milkshake today! Atleast i now know how to pay you back for the toll staions in Orlando..Which flavour would you like?

It is really strange to think that we will b working at Disney for our next job. Having worked there before i think i am truely prepared for whats to come...I wonder if we can give out magic moments certificates...The only thing im not looking forward to is the possibility of working in the chippy on xmas day but then again atleast you will b surrounded with your friends!

I have about the same amount of mioney too. Plus i have put some aside for my universal pass...Also id like to go to Sea world at some point as I couldnt afford to go last time i was there...Bummith!

I will be your Disney Guru, but I was only there for 3 months, altho it seemed long its nothing compared to a year. All I can say was I had the most amazing time in my life..The social side was amazing the work was great but there where dyas where u really hate it (I know i know, but we all have those days) and you get homesick but you have to fight thru it. I can remeber someone said to me once, its amazing and you will love it but after 2 months you will feel homesick but then you will be fine after a week or two, and its sooo true! Its so magical and you meet the most AMAZING people.....Ahh im getting all excited...Cowboys is such a fun night out and House of Blues, and aaaaahhh sooooo fun!!!!!!!

Only 19 minutes until I can get my milkshake....if they don't have it, I think I may cry. I will have to go to Somerfield instead, get a pint of milk and a sachet of Nesquick and shake it really quickly.......or maybe not!

Ok Guru Sam, here is your first question. Let's say you had a special visitor staying with you but you decided to stay off property. One day you venture into the parks and it's extra magic hours.....if you saw a CM that you knew giving out wristbands, could you sneakily get a couple of them?!

Actually, I think I know the answer to that unfortunately and I wouldn't want to get me or anyone else termed so I will refrain

Did you go out loads last time? Do you think you will this time? I'm so sad Pleasure Island has closed now, although it may help me save some of my pennies.

You know how to resolve a quick problem...Love the milkshake idea..I LOVE strawberry nesquick it is tyhe best. GOOD LUCK...Ill be rooting for you at my lil desk. Ill have a hero to celebrate your return.

If you stay at Disney Hotels thats fine, ofcourse you can have extra magic hours. If not and you know someone and they give you the band (I did that and it was fine) They dont ask people if your genuine! Just dont talk about it. Ive never heard of someone getting into trouble about that mainly becasue they havent been caught. However most of the CM's that offer them out are old CM's who have been working there for years or College programs.

Last time i was only 20 (but i still had the occasionally sneaky drink,but you have to be very very careful) I know your an oldy tho like me! To b honest i dont think you will notice much about PI as there are plenty of other places to go too that are much better, as your watched like a hawk on Disney property some people found it frustrating. House of blues is ACE and a lot of places around the area have woman drink for free for the first 2 hours...Theres are so many places to go too plus lots of party all the time! I id go out a lot and the hang out when your a lil sloshed is IHOP and you get discount whoop. Downtown is quite a good night too! I didnt get to go to universal etc when i was there last time as i didnt have any money when i went and the money i did have spent going out.

Its AMAZING!!!!! I could tell you so many stories for hours but ill juts bore you and Claire with them on the flight over!

Ive just got a leaving present from my work friend! I was spoilt....Feel so bad. I got perfume and Alan Carrs book..Cant wait to read that!

Sold my car today! Massive relief. Now feels like I'm going!

Also had my throat operation. All was successfull although It took them a minute and half to realise i couldnt breathe in recovery!!! That was scary.

Anyway...... Next Saturday I'll be begining my journey to the US of A. I AM EXCITED.

Untill then though I'm going spend the week working between Packing and getting my unfit ass on the treadmill. ;D

 

Hope your ok Clark. I had the same problem. Though probably for a different reason. But it is really scary when you wake up and cant breathe and they don't know it.

Wow it is SOOO close. Anyone scared out of their mind. I am. It has almost taken over the excitement. I mean I know I am still going and I am sure it will go away once I am down there but just hoping I can survive the year.

Cant wait to meet you guys. Sure wont be long from now. I will probably get back on to say it but just in case, anyone leaving before I get back on. Have a safe trip and see you soon.

Finally got my suitcase down from the loft! ;D

Then I had a look around the various rooms I have my crap in and decided to watch TV instead lol. Seriously it'll take me maybe 2 days to get all my crap thrown out, off to charity shops and actually pack some clothes. Just remembered I still have to get some $$$$! Look looking forward to this fantastic new tax plan Gordon Brown has for us Monday! It will probably send the dollar down 5-10 cents

 

anyone hiring a car? if so who with and how long for? Anyone under 25 where you getting the car from to avoid paying the stupid underage driver charge. A week is working out around £160-170 with usrentacar for me.

I have to get on this website more and catch up with all this! last time I was on this thread was only 6 pages, is anyone else entering panic/anxiety mode? I had a goodbye party the other night, tonnes of emotions going around, so excited though! I leave Saturday morning and am spending a couple nights with some friends in Miami

It is good to know I am not the only one. It wasn't to bad for a while then suddenly it hit. Maybe it is cause my friend down there is complaining WAY too much. So it makes me wonder sometimes if I am doing the right thing. But deep down a part of me really feels that my time will be much different then hers. She went down not knowing anyone. I go down knowing tons of people. I think that will help me out more.

I am going to start packing today. I have things together. I just need to sort out the for sure coming and the not so sure coming stuff. I am going to go do a wash later either today or tomorrow, and just wash all my Florida clothes seeing as it is too cold for most of them anyway, and put them into my suit case right then. I think I will fill one suit case with clothes, and the other with all my other stuff. I am pretty much ready to go. Just got a few more people to see and a few more trips while I am home and then I should be ready.

call me greg I just put gregory as my name because Greg26 was taken haha. Yeah I have heard (through some blogs and people) some negative things about the program and people complaining, but for every negative thing I hear, I hear another 5 good amazing things about the program, so I'm really stoked! Its going to be such a great year, I just want it to start now...I only have 3 days of work left... almost all packed too

I also went to Timmies and got the extra large tub of wonderful coffee...it is more important than anything else that I'm bringing lol. And I imagine the other canadians will be craving it too!
