Well i guess it was goodbye prezzies! I meant to sell the stuff but didnt wanna live without tv etc for my last few weeks! I should have done tho i was out every night... but nothing beats watching real world, road rules and other cheesy mtv shows - perfect hangover cure!

Shan... I think I threw you down to Emily H... I didn't mind the rain on popcorn at first but then they moved the cart a foot or so and the tarps wouldn't fit up on the rocks anymore. I got wet more then. I can remember days when Amanda would climb up on the rock to put the tarp up. It also came in handy on really sunny days. How long are you going to Scotland for?? Where abouts in T.O. are you? Scarborough?? Have you seen Silvia at all?? I emailed her, but haven't heard anything...

Luggage wise... I had to leave so much stuff down there. Thank god for Throw Outs!! I drove down with my mom and sis and had so much crap! I went home twice. I would go home with 1 bag and return with 2... both times!! Not a good thing!! My parents came to visit me about 5 weeks before I came home. I made sure they packed lightly when they came.... I sent them home with 2 full bags!! I also sent a box home. Even after that I still had 2 stuffed to capacity bags! The airline wanted to charge me $56. She said I should reorganize my bags... um no way... I was literally up all night and had reorganized my bags 6 times. There was nothing I could do. She said just closed them up and slowly walk away. She didn't charge me! I was ready to pay though. There wasn't anything I could do.

Marie - Yeah, I know it's gonna be cold. I was just being sarcastic!!! I was over for most of November as well and it was cold then!!! I can't wait...very excited!

Diana - You guys were lucky to have the cover sometimes...ours just held water until we unrolled the flaps and dumped it all on us!!! I'm off to Scotland for 3 weeks. Not doing much while I'm there because Craig's working the whole time. But still. I haven't seen Silvia yet, which is so dumb since we're in the same city...although opposite ends because I'm practically in Mississauga. We're gonna try to get our acts together when I get home in March. I don't know who eventually ended up as my big sister...can't remember...but I do remember that you had me at some point!

My parents were always down visiting because we have friends in Tampa, so I kept sending stuff home with them (because they'd drive down)...but they'd always bring stuff too! They came at the end of my contract and took like an entire van load home. It wouldn't have been so bad, but I had them bring my TV and stuff from home down when they came over Thanksgiving so I didn't exactly want to throw that stuff down. But definitely thank god for throw-outs...you can get rid of lots of junk...you can also gain a lot more. Craig was lucky. He managed not to pay any excess baggage on his flight up here at the end of his contract, or over to Scotland after that. I always get caught for baggage!! I'm only allowed 44 pounds on my way to Scotland this time!! Good luck!!!

Diana, Shan - What are throw outs? I also wondered how does it work over taking family and friends into parks for free. At the presentation they made it sound like after 3 months u can take upto five people into the parks as many times as u want. But things others have said makes it sound like theres a limit. I was thinking if friends and family come to visit separately and theres say a limit of 12 times that could go in a couple of visits...

Depending on the country, there are throw ins and throw outs. I can't say too much about Throw ins but the UK one is pretty interesting... It happens your first night... don't wear anything too nice... jeans and tee shirt. Something that can get, um, dirty Same goes for the Canadian one... but don't wear white for either!! Ours is a bit tamer than the UK. Throw outs happen when you leave. The Canadian throw ins/outs are always at the Car Wash. Mine wasn't too long. I think 20 minutes. I'm not much of a public speaker, so I kept mine short. Also, half the kitchen staff was there too.... that was a bit nerve wracking! Too many people!! It was Al's throw out too. That brought the kichen staff. I was like... great... more people... lucky me...

Shan, do you remember what you said for your final words??? I didn't know what to say!! Everything had been said so many times in the past. I said something that shocked people... I remember gasps, like omg I can't believe she said that... tee hee Apparently I was looking right at Merch Angie when I said it. Not meaning to. It wasn't directed at her at all. I think I said something about "do what you want, if you want to go out and party each night, do it, if you want to stay in and watch a movie or go for dinner, do it, if you want to f*** everyone (That got the gasp) do it, but don't be surprised if everyone is talking about you in the morning. Do what is right for you." I'm so bad with coming up with what to say. Some one told me I was staring right at Angie... I feel bad. Wasn't meaning to. But you know how rumours go around that place. Did Robbie bring the guitar?? Brad was still doing it when I left. I will always always think of the Commons when I hear "time of my life" by Green Day. I love that song now.

Maingate wise, you will get one at your 3 months. You get one for each year. If you come in June, you will get one in September and a new one in January. You are allowed to sign in 3 people a day for a maximum of 12 days. You are technically supposed to stay with them during the day, but I signed a lot of people in and then went off to work or whatever. I've also signed in some friends family. You are responsible for them. If they get in trouble with security, you will get in a bunch of crap. So be careful who you sign in. Make sure you can trust them. They are park hopper passes. You can sign them in at Magic Kingdom and they can go on to whatever park they want. Doesn't matter what park you sign them into. What's nice is that in January, you will start over again at 12 days. Throughout the year, you will also get sent 2 comp passes. Those you do not need to be with them to enter. I still have one, it doesn't expire until Dec 31/05. They usually have a 3 year expiry. If you need to, you can also buy discount tickets at Company D in Cast Services (for EPCOT you will get dropped off on the bus at cast services when you go to work. That's where your locker will be. There is a computer room there. It's also where ATLAS is. That's where you request time off). Your maingate and Security ID will also get you into DisneyLand in California ;D

That clears everything up! Wow throw outs sound fun... quite nervous about throw in tho its all part of the experience! Even so after a flight i'll be there with jet lag - the lake will either wake me up or i'll drown - i freak out going under water!

You guys have it much worse than Canadians. But rest asured, the pool and lake are not a part of it. We aren't allowed to use them anymore. I guess the Canadians used to use the pool but that was stopped abuptly by security. I haven't been to a full UK throw in, but I went to my roomies Throw Out. They are similar to the Canadian ones, but in an apartment.

The Maingate is only good at Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, MGM, Animal Kingdom, DisneyLand, California Adventure. There are some black out days like New Years Eve, Easter and Christmas in some parks (not usually EPCOT). I don't think you can sign anyone into a water park. You can get in with your security ID. If you can, you can sneak thru cast services at the water parks. If you aren't going to EPCOT, you are supposed to go thru the maingate. Which was a bit of a pain for MK and MGM. At MGM you get dropped off around the corner. It's only a few minute walk but if you are running late meeting someone, it's a pain. At MK you get dropped off behind the University and have to take the bus to the tunnels and find your way out from there. The tunnels can be fun, but they can be so confusing. I was walking around for an hour and a half with one of the other Canadians one day after the Training course at the Disney University. He, of course being a male, wouldn't ask anyone how to get above ground. I finally had to stop for directions! I didn't want to come out in the back of a store. They have the best staff Caf though. The Odessey building in EPCOT is ok. They do have a Subway. But the MK one is better.

it's not really... it's not too bad though... i didn't eat there a lot. i brought my lunch a lot. that way i saved $$ and didn't eat anything too expensive.

 

I NEVER brought my lunch. I lived at the Odyssey. I got slightly obsessed with their grilled cheese sandwiches...soooo good!!!! Having McD's at the refreshment port so close was bad too!!! So healthy.

Don't freak out over your throw-in. It's supposed to be fun!! I just remember thinking holy crap there is a lot of people, but also about how long I'd waited to get there!!!! My throw-in was so much fun...what I can remember of the night!!!! Diana, remember the welcome to the Commons song?? That was my throw-in!

My throw-out was HORRIBLE!!! Tarah and I were supposed to go together, then Shaun decided to go that night too. Tarah and I already had a lot of stuff and you can guess how much he had, so it took ALLLLLL night. Seriously, the longest throw-out I ever went to!!! I wanted to leave!! I can't remember if we sang or not...everyone kept leaving anyways. Robbie usually did though. Tarah and I caused trouble cause we didn't do the bird. Oh well. I got some nasty looks in my final words because I said that I spent most of my time with the UK-ers because I can hang out with Canadians at home!!! Ha. It sounded a lot worse than I meant it, but I don't really care. I was trying to be so good and not cry and I made it until I gave Craig something at the end!

I didn't want to do the bird either. I didn't do beer though... had my own drink (a semi-flat smirnoff ice and water ;D). It wasn't as hard as I thought it would be. I purposely went first so it didn't have too much left over beer taste. Al did the nipple! I couldn't believe it! Poor Jared!! You didn't do any part of the bird?? I don't think we should be forced or guilted into it. I didn't want any part of it. I'm a bit surprised that Tarah didn't do it. Who was birdman and respect guy??
