"why'd it have to b snakes?" i hate them all...there will be much "screaming like a girl" coming from me!
I need a "Disney World Survival Guid to Dangerous Creatures In- and Outside of the Apartments". Just so that you know...my knowledge of dangerous animals is limited and even more limited is my knowledge on how to handle them! So...I declare my room scorpion, snake, spider, gator and other dangerous animal free! (Now all I gotta do is make those animals listen to me :-\) Who can I call if they don't listen to me? I did read somewhere that extermination service is included in the rent ;D. On a more serious note...what are the chances of some of those creatures walking around in our apartments???
well, the chances of spiders are kinda big, never had one in my apt, but some people did! and some of them are poisonous! not deadly, but it hurts quite bad and looks pretty ugly! never heard of snakes or gators in any of the apt...but if you should encounter one i would suggest screaming and running away! that's what i would do anyway! haha! but you can also call housing and they will take care of that i'm sure! what's most common is roaches, and they're not a pretty sight! they're bigger than any i've ever seen before! so always take your trash out! ;-) hope i didn't scare you guys too much! haha!
I am in agreement with everyone else, roaches are disgusting. Though you will not hear me shriek if I see one. Poke it with a stick is more likely. However if a bee, wasp or hornet gets into the apartment and flies near me, you will see me run pretty fast. I have a pretty bad phobia dealing with those. I have been stung about 80 or so times, that is enough for me.
I hate spiders, I hate anything that is creepy crawly. I'm a big baby when it comes to them so either my roommates are going to have sto step up to the plate or the extermination team is going to be on speed dial!!!
Please lets not talk about spiders and bugs... im going to have to build a fortress to keep them out!! Mike
Lol Mike. ;D Can I come stay inside your fortress? :-\ I never got bitten by anything the whole year but lots of folks did. The bugs just seem to prefer some folks to others. One of my best frinds got a horrid spider bite while on our pin cart (green spiders dropping from the trees above our heads! ). That was naaaaaaaaaaasty! :-X OMG 80 times! Sheesh! Your irrational fear is clearly rather rational! I with you too though. I hate wasps! RUn like a girl. But I am, so that's not so bad. I don't mind bees though...... unless they are where I'm sleeping. I had one in my flat a few weeks ago. Ended up having it under a bowl on my floor for over a week. Too scared to move it. :-[ Loooooooooong random story. : Pet dead bee anyone? No? ;D Ona x
We had our first live cockroach last week.... Let me just say that if you're going to kill it, then make sure you get it on the first whack to prevent freaking out-ness....
I've been stung by a bee inside my mouth when I was driving.. it's an horrible experience..quite hurting too!!! To prevent this kind of thigs it's quite useful not to leave any food or something sweet around the house...
my roommate once tried to kill one that was crawling on our door so she sprayed it with something...finally it fell down, so she grabbed it with some paper, but instead of flushing it down the toilet right away she had to take another look...so she did, screamed and the roach was flying through the air! it funny now, but omg, so creepy back then! and as for bees, wasps and hornets...i feel the same way, too! they just freak me out! and it makes me so angry when everyone's laughing at me then!
Eeeww! I'm getting itch just reading this thread. Spiders and stuff I can deal with ... but roaches? Eeeww. I've never seen one before (aside from on TV), never heard of 'em here before. But killing them has got to be swift and hard ... there are the masters of evolution for a reason. Do you know how long a roach can live without a head? It's disgusting!
I've been told (don't know whether its true) but you can't stand on them and squish them because that can release some of the eggs which then will hatch and there will be more of them!!!! What you have to do is turn them on their backs and leave them there because they can't turn back over and they eventually die apparently! You do have to be brave enough to turn them over to start with though!
all ya gotta do is smack the crap out of anything and it will eventually die haha.... although the green spiders falling from the trees thats a little weird .. lol...
hehehehe Love! http://www.fsca-dpi.org/FloridaInsectGallery/A Gallery of Florida Insects.htm Here's a link for everyone. Enjoy!
hmm...thanks for that Jei...at times like these i love living in scotland...nothing more harmful than an ickle everyday spider..
Sooooo not gonna click on any of those to see more. No thank you! ;D Ana, soooooo true. Although I'm told there are a few snakes around. Adders to be precise, which are actually venomous. But I've lived here all my life, grew up running around the hills and forests (man I sound like some ferrel mountain child ;D) and I've never seen one. ..... Thankfully. ;D I've heard that about roaches.... about the eggs etc. Hence, if I see one, I'm not gonna go smash it, I think I'll just scream till some nice man comes along and resues me. Ona x
