I am just signing up for the marathon now...doing the 5km race would be so much fun too though. I'll keep thinking about it...it might be a good race prep run.

Otherwise, Mauro I'll help you cheer the others on! I ran 17km a couple of weeks ago, but I've been travelling all over the place the last bit, so hopefully now I'll have some time to get back into my schedule.

burtner----we should really get together for runs on disney¡¡¡¡ it was a friend who got me started on running and i am sure i will miss having someone around to run with, plus that way we could help each other. At the moment i am on week 3 of my half marathon trainning wich i will be running two days before i leave to orlando ¡¡¡¡¡ I am planning on running the 13 K as a prep event and waiting for my next paycheck to sign up for the marathon¡¡¡

    Hey Guys,

It's great to see so many people interested in the 5k run. Quick question...is this group just for you September people or can we December arrivals join in?! lol

I'm thinking of signing up too. Oh and Mauro, I would love to go running over there if I can work back up to a decent level before moving to Florida. I do have 5 months tp train so should be fine!

P.S. A little off subject but is anyone also interested in finding a dance class to go to over there? Believe me if you can get through an hour of ballet, you will have no problem doing a 5k run! Haha ;)

Please! if you'dlike to do it with us do it!
There are lots of other people that do not have september start dates!

Hey Mauro (and disneyprincess87 too) that sounds great! Though at this point I am still pretty slow, I only started running longer distances than 3km last September (I should be farther along, but I got a stress fracture in my ankle last winter). I think it's great though if we can help each other out. Mauro, good luck with your training, I can't find a race in my area long enough to do before I leave, I'm quite disappointed.

When I went to sign up last night, they said cast members should sign up through a different website, but you need a login, so I'm going to wait until I get there. I'll just be really disappointed if it is full by then (it's 70% full now).

I'd love to try a dance class too, I have very little experience though!

And here's a link for anyone who is *really* crazy:

    http://www.floridahalfironman.com/

It's the half ironman. My friend did a full ironman in Ontario last year -- it took her 12 hours, and she's the captain of her triathlon team, so it's quite a feat! Basically it's a really long triathlon, for the half ironman you swim 2km (1.2mi), bike 90km (56mi.), and then run a half marathon 26km (13.1mi).

It'd be awesome to accomplish, but that's a lot of training (not to mention easier with nice...but expensive.... equipment).

    That's INSANE!

and after that ...RUNNING A HALF MARATHON¡¡¡¡ Well that must be the reason they call it an ironman event.

Dance Class? i might be up for that ...as long as is ballroom/salsa type of dancing i might as well give it a try ¡¡¡

Awesome I thought you'd all laugh at my dance class idea! Kimmykins, I do ballet, modern, jazz etc so I'll probs be bringing all my dance shoes with me. Yes I am a freak but its my wind down after a hard day lol. I know what you mean about pole/chair dancing, its actaully really hard to do and tones you up! I'm up for any type of dance class, haven't tried ballroom yet but that would be cool!

I have gained weight but it is mainly muscle. I am working out hard core to try and get my sholder strong so I dont drop dishes there. And make sure to put some time in getting ready for this. :) I am going to go to a friend's party next week that is 5 K away or roughly so I am going to see how well I can do with that. Then I can go on the waterslides to cool down.
