I am in too! I was also looking for a church, and I am guessing that there are probably several American students who also would like to go (and might have a car). I am from a non-denominational international church in The Hague, The Netherlands. Best compared to a small version of Willow Creek I guess. I used their website to find some churches in the area as I assumed that they would most likely resemble what I am used to. Here is Willows partner church list for Florida. But I am very curious whether we are going to have time at all to visit church, I guess it will be on an irregular basis, but I'd love to find a church in the area that I can visit.
Hi, I finished my Disney contract just over a year ago now, and I tried out several Churches there. The huge one right across from the Commons I did not like at all. Maybe because I'm not actually Catholic had something to do with it, but it was also HUGE!! I sat in the back, and it wasn't very homey like here at home. Other Sunday's a bus came by the Commons and picked a bunch of us to take us to Church about 8 minutes away. I'm sorry I can't remember off the top of my head what it was called, but I'm pretty sure there were advertisements in the Clubhouse at the Commons. Check with the lady behind the desk, she may know too. Good luck though!! Jacqueline
Was it by any chance Lake Buena Vista First Baptist Church? I called them and they gave me the name of a bus driver who could pick people up at the commons... Ya, we probably wouldn't be able to go every single week since we have no control over the scheduling... but I'd like to make it when I can
I'm really happy of this topic.. ...I was just wondering what should I do if I wanted to go to the church.. ...and here it is the answer.. I simply hope that the Catholic church is pretty much the same we have in Italy... ...and I'll better start looking for some script to learn how it works in English!! Any suggestion about that?? Thanks!
english mass is very simple... espeacially at my church.. were a catholic church with baptist music and the technology thats worthy of a rock concert... lots of people jsut follow on the screens, but i doubt it'll be the same there... ill try and find you an english site with it but id reccomend checking the library (if they would have that kind of book at yours) or else wait and pick one up at walmart.. i have a bunch of kiddy ones... 32 pages... explain the whole mass in english and have all the responses and everything for a dollar or two.. best of luck... hope the catholic church is nice... i whish there was still service at the Polynesion... it was awesome... but sooooooooo crowded~!
If you can find any web site I would really thank you... ...I just don't know where and what to search... Well in Italy the mess is quite different than the one you described.. ...but, if the God we believe is the same and the mess is celebrated by a Catholic priest I should say that I don't mind the ways it goes on... ...I just need to get used to that way of praying!
well heres what i've found http://catholic-resources.org/ChurchDocs/Mass.htm it seems to be in good order, a little confusing since you don't know which version the priest will use, but nonetheless a helpful little guide!
MOST Catholic Mass is similar......with the difference of music I am SURE that the mass is the same!! I really look forward to going to mass down in Florida!! My priest even told me where it was located!! ;D
Thank you soooooooo much for that link!!! Very useful!!! I think I'll better start styding it!! It will be great (and I'll appreciate it a lot) if we'll go together to the Catholic church....
yeah I'm pretty sure that most Catholic mass is the same, and also (I know here in Britain) quite a few are still in Latin so maybe it might be similar :-\ xKx
Never heard of that... ..the "non-denominational one" as you wrote.. if the mess is in Latin I would ask my granda to teach me something about it!!! It would be great if they had different kind of mess according to different nationalities.. ..who knows!!!
Someone who wrote before mentioned a Christian non-or varying non-denominational church I think... I'm sure you'd pick up mass in another language quite quickly...I think its pretty standard across the board (not entirely sure tho) xKx
Well... ...in a way or in another I'll work this out... Maybe at the beginning it would be wired but I hope I'll get use to it very soon!!
I'm sure you will... Maybe when we get there they will give us details of churches etc...you'll have to let us know when you get there!! xKx
Hi! Now that you mention it, it was "Lake Buena Vista First Baptist Church". I went there a few times, and found it to be alright. I loved the singing there in particular!! It was superb!! Anyhow, good luck with everything!
As far as I know for any question, problem etc there's a person you can ask according to the place you live... ...I think he's a kind of boss...
cool...well we'll be asking 'the boss' then....sounds like Sonic the Hedgehog haha!! (p.s. added you to msn...hope thats ok??) xKx
I remember going to Quebec on a school trip and we hit up a ton of churches and I was REALLY worried about going to Mass in another language!! After a while, it was GREAT and I TOTALLY got it!! ;D ;D I am here to help out if you need some help though!!
Thank you very much.... I don't want to keep away from religion for 1 whole year... ...It's just that I took part to a multi-language mess only twice during the world youth day in Colone.. ..but never heard an "American" one... ..if you know what I mean... In case I'll need some help I'll contact you! Thanks again!
