    Hey Everyone,

Let's see where to start.. My name is Ashlea, I'm 20 turning 21 in Feb. From P-town also know as Pickering which is just outside of Toronto.
I enjoy sports, Hockey being one of them no wait it's pretty much my life! I love playing sports, I'm into wakeboarding, snowboarding and ringette! I love to see different places and love to party.

I'm leaving March 15 and working in Food and Beverage. Hopefully I'll get to meet you all so we can party it up!

Question.... We have 30 days where we can stay in the states after our contract is done? Now will Disney fly you anywhere you wanna go in the states if you can find your own way home?

Okay everyone, my plan for the 30 days after Disney's done with us is to go to New York and see Broadway!! Anyone up for the adventure?

@Ashie: I think Disney just gives us the amount of money we paid out and we can use that to go anywhere: travelling the states or going home.

@ Katie: It's great that we have stuff in common! I'm also glad to know i'm not the only 18 year old going down. I'm actually helping right now with a production of BatB at my cousin's school, they got the rights to the Disney show and they're one of the first high schools in Canada to perform it. I would have died to be in it but since i don't go to the school and i've gradded i had to settle for behind the scenes work. It's still lots of fun and work, the show's gonna be amazing!

@Jenny: Being a costume designer is an amazing goal! I would love to have the talent to design costumes. I looked into taking it but i don't really have the greatest talent for sewing, i mean i can make something using a pattern but i'd have to learn a whole bunch more before being able to do what you do. Good on ya. Perhaps once i meet you in Disney you can help me out with a project i've wanted to do for many years :D

Happy New Year everyone and i look forward to meeting you all later on this year!

    hello everyone!!!

My name is Robyn and i am from Vancouver BC. I am a hardcore Canucks fan and am planning on representing them at a Panthers or Lightning game...the more the merrier :p. I am 20 years old right now and turn 21 six months into my contract. I am finishing up my Hotel and Restaurant Management program right now (Liz and i are in the same program)so i will be good to go for June. I am not working right now but i finished up a 5 month contract in September with the Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge. It was absolute craziness up there, so i am completely excited for Disney. Is anyone brining any Canadian stuff down like tshirts, posters, etc? I love everything there is about the tropics and especially the beaches, so i will definately be there a lot if anyone wants to join me. Beach party anyone 8)!! But I can't wait to go down. I will be leaving on June 21 and working in F&B. 6 and a half months to go...woohoo!!

Sure no problem, but I'm not taking my sewing machine with me for the year....I'll find it more of a distraction and well heavy to travel with but we can do lots of stuff, I enjoy quick and fun projects.

    Hey fellow Canucks!
I haven't really been part of this forum much--I'm not much of a computer person--but now that my leaving date is getting close I thought I should get to know some people. So, my name is Sarah McCann, and I'm going to Disney on March 29th to work in Food & Beverage. I'm 23, from Halifax, NS, and so far I'm pretty much on my way to being a professional student. I got a degree in English, then I tried Culinary Arts, and now I'm thinking about going into teaching--but first I'm taking a little break to work at Disney! So, about myself . . . I love to dance (I teach kids ballet, jazz and tap), I love movies, I like to bake, read, and take bubble baths. I wish I was a hockey fan, but I don't really follow it much (how un-Canadian is that?!). Anyway, I'm excited to meet all of you when we get down there!

@Evil Queen...which Disney Store do you work at?? I worked at Yorkdale when it opened, and stayed there until I went to WDW in 1999. I can back for a short while when I came back in 2000, but left for a full time job. I still know a few people there, and know some managers. Also, who do you know that did the program a few years ago?? I was there for Millenium, so maybe I know them!

@Ali... I work at Scarborough Town Centre. I'm friends with Cheryl (aka Munch here on the boards). She did the program July 2000-2001.

@Robyn, Casey & anyone else that's up for hockey games.... Although I am a Leafs fan, I will gladly go see any Cdn team play in Tampa or Miami. I'm also a Thrashers fan (yes, snicker all you want), so hopefully with both Tampa and Florida being in their division, I'll get to see more of their games too. Although, we do really need to get this NHL thing happening again. I'd kind of like to see even a partial season this year, but I've all but lost complete hope at this point.

How's everyone doing? I'm sure anyone in Toronto today can't wait to leave. Yucky snow, freezing rain. Ahhh.... won't have to deal with this next year.

Glad to finally see some Cdns in the east on here lately. Hopefully, we're have more as the spring interviews get closer.

    Sandra,

I definitely know Cheryl...she came a few months before I left and I passed down my tiny boots to her (she's only a bit shorter than me!), when she became a Cart Tart after I left. That also explains the whole Hockey Hall of Fame job too...does she still work there too? I had a hunch that's who you were talking about.

I'm sure she'll tell how much of a great time you'll have...we certainly did!

    Sandra,

count me in on the hockey games, on all the hockey games. I love sports, I'm in for touriststy stuff, travelling, everything.... if I don't sleep, I'm ok with that.

And, it may be raining in toronto, but it's been -46 for 4 days in a row.

Watch out, Toronto weather is messed! :p I live 20mins outside the big city and one day it snows, the next rain! I know were all down for the hockey games, but what about football? Maybe a game against New England! ( Gotta see Tom Brady) I'm into Wakeboarding, not sure of anyone else is, but they have a lot of tournaments and they are un-real! So much fun to see! And shopping??? Or we could just hit up some good bars? ;D

Is anybody driving down??? I've been considering it! What are everyone else's views on this???

I'd love to drive down, but unfortunately, I don't have a car to take. I debated trying to save for one before I go or save for one when I get there, but I think I'd rather save the money to enjoy myself down there. My biggest worry was having to rely on a vehicle to get to Wal_mart, but from what I've heardm the grocery store situation is much better now that there is a Publix across from the Commons.

    Hey all!!

I'm also heading down on the 15th of March. Looking forward to it. As of right now we have 63 days to go!!!! I've been chatting on MSN with a couple people already down there and they've got me pretty pumped! They're also filling me in on some tricks and fun stuff to know that not everyone knows, so ask people questions!! I've just moved AGAIN this time I've remained in Ontario. I was supposed to go to Carlton this year for Archaeology but turned it down because there were other things going on. So I'm doing work around the house and doing small odd jobs until March. SOOOOO BORING!!!!!

Anyone flying from Toronto on the 15th?

    Nio ;D

I may be driving down, I'm not too certain yet. I'd prefer to sell my car and buy one in Fl if I need one...but if I can't sell my car, I may not have a choice but to bring it down. I'm not too worried about transportation yet, I hear that many people have cars and with a little money incentive, they'll take you where you need to go.
