Oh sorry, I meant the auditions for the Candlelight Choir, they are in August right? Will I miss them if I arrive the 19th?
Hey, Encore just did a performance within the past week. I didn't get to listen to it all but I was walking past the building it was in and they sounded AMAZING. Candlelight sign-ups were this morning starting at 8am. Basically (for those interested next year) you go to a page on the hub and at 8am it will refresh to the sign-up page. You fill out your work location, email, contact number, and which part you'd like (Soprano, Alto, Tenor, Bass) and then click submit. Then you get a message: So I filled out the form, but now I'm SO worried whether or not I'm one of the first 300 CM's to apply for the part. There's no auditions, its just how fast you can fill out the form. Here's to pixie dust! Best of luck to anyone else who may have signed up! - Jenn
Its so sad¡¡¡ I wanted to be in the choir so bad¡¡¡¡ its a shame I arrive on September¡¡¡ I will still try to contact them as soon as I get there and see if there is any type of waiting list or something like that ¡¡¡
If you arrive in September then you might be able to sing with Encore... which would be absolutely amazing!
I know everyone will probably have a different opinion on this but what's the best part to sign up for? I don't really know where my voice would fit in lol
That really depends on your vocal range! If you search Soprano, Alto, Tenor and Bass on wikipedia it will tell you the notes that these parts usually sing. I'm a mezzo-soprano and I can sing from an A below middle C to an A below Top C... It all depends on the notes you can reach! However, the alto section always fills up first, then soprano, then bass, then tenor..its been known for a lot of altos to sign up for tenor because they are the only spaces left!
I'd love to be in it too, but I think arriving in September, which is my preference, is too late.... But like DisneyGibbs said, it must be worth going to see!
Lets just say guests try to book the dinner package for the Candlelight Processional as soon as the previous year has finished! That's how popular it is. The answer to this is, well, no. However, you can always see if you can sign up for other parts. It depends how quickly they go!
So If I am a castmember and want to see the show, do you need to book something?? or do you just show up and see if you get a seat?
After I signed up they said that you could not modify your application or submit another application using your hub ID. So basically, no, I don't think there's any way to try for another part if the part you chose is full. You basically just have to fill it out as fast as you can and hope you have enough pixie dust to be one of the first 300! You can book a Candlelight Package (which includes reservations at a restaurant for lunch or dinner and then priority seating) or you can just get in the stand-by line and hope you get a seat. I'm sure some days are busier than others... I've only been around Christmas time and the lines start forming over an hour before the show! Not sure what it's like in early December, though.
They normally range from the end of November (usually from the 27th) until the 31st December, 3 shows a night! That's a looooooooooot of shows!
Wow are the same people in every show? I guess not...that'd be way to tiring plus people gotta work too right?
Haha yes...very tiring...I did do all three shows once. Generally you can sign up for either the first show, or for the two later shows. You can sign up for all 3 if you want! I signed up for all three because someone dropped out before 2pm on the day of the show; you'll be told all about filling in spaces once you get in to the choir. The cast choir is made up of 1200 CM's, but only about 70 perform in each show a night (unless you go as a standby and they need you to fill in the high school spaces). I used to go to shows on my days off, and would always do the later two because you get more stage time! I also got to perform with the California Cast Choir, and so wish I had gotten a space on the press night as Marie Osmond was narrating.
is ist true that you can only sign up, once a year in august? so i missed my chance to sing in a choir, because i won't arrive until august 19th. that is so damn sad, because i just love to sing... music makes my day. i wonder if there is some karaoke pub, where we all can go to?
