  1. Yeah, that's who it was. I found she was really snappy whenever I asked her something. It really took the excitement away...
Its good to know that th visa process is so easy for us though, it saves us a ton of work.

Hey, just to let everyone know. I was on the program in 2005 in Canada F&B and this is how it works. You get your package, then send Cast a way your criminal Record background thing, then that is it really your visa papers and all that should be in your package. if not sure it is a big paper with lots of names on it, just call Cast A Way if you don't have that.go to the airport explain to them what you are doing and all that, give them the visa papers that you got with your package. Then ask them for an I-94 form, explain to them it is about a Q-1 Visa they should no what you are talking about. Like was said before they will either fill it out or you do it but it is easy, just your name and social security number ( I think ) , easy stuff like that, then they rip off this little white card that they stamp with the day it expires and staple it into your passport, then you are on your way. Really not a big deal don't spend to much time worrying about that just worry about what you are going to pack then have fun. Trust me if there is a mistake, it wont be your fault, we are not Border guards we are not supposed to know what to do. Disney Will fix it and truth be told if there was a major mistake then you wouldn't be in Florida in the first place. As long as you arrive at the Orlando Airport in one piece you have nothing to worry about

i'm so confused?! i'm driving across the border n flying out of the states because it's almost $300 cheaper than flying outta Vancouver. Anyone have a clue how my visa stuff would work?!

  6. I think you still ask for an I-94 form when you are crossing the border Grace.
Any luck with your passport yet?

Has anyone else had trouble getting their passport in time? Any idea what to do if you can't drive to the states to catch a flight, so you need your passport in time? :(

You still have to do the same thing! You have to park your car and go into the Border Office. Fill out the forms and go on your way. Really simple

You need you passport you have to call Ottawa head office for passport to deal with it, you need it for your q-1 Visa...they will not let you in the country if your Passport expires prior to your Vida...

Your Passport must expire a minimum of 6 months after your contract ends!

  9. We need it just to fly too...our visa is the j-1, for the summer program but I guess that part doesn't really matter since we need it to get on the plane anyway. Once it's here, there's no worry about it expiring before we get back...it's getting it that's the problem!

I am traveling from Vancouver to Montreal, then Montreal to Orlando but I never transfer planes. So I guess I fill out the form in Vancouver, right??? Thanks for all the info, I don't know what I would do without you guys!!!

I drove cross the border last year and it was just fine. The people there didn't really know what they were doing, so it took forever. Just make sure to tell them what ur doing and that u need the i94 card.

Most likely because you are crossing the border in Motreal they will make you get off the plane. Just whereever you clear customs is where you will fill out the form. Since Vancouver to Montreal is Domestic you will not go through the border therefore have no way of getting an I94 form!

We're going to have to change planes in Montreal, and will be running across the airport from domestic to international. Which I hope won't take too long to do, they only gave us 50 minutes grace period to do this :-\

  14. Ouch. I don't think I'd ever take another flight where there's less than an hour in between connections. Having to switch planes and clear customs (esp. since you have to get all your luggage) can take a really long time, depending on the line. The last time we went through Montreal we ended up missing our flight. I'm glad it was on the way home! Definitely don't stop to smell the flowers in montreal haha.

You are going to be tight getting there. I was in Montreal first thing in the morning and it took about an hour for me to get to my next gate. I had to walk a bit of a ways from my gate, pick up my luggage, go through customs, and drop my luggage back off again. I had 1:50 and I thought that I might not have enough time.

Oh, and I'm so nervous about my luggage. Twice already, on separate occasions, they've lost it. It just boggles me how it's possible, since I tag them properly and all.
Connections have me a bit worred as well. I usually have 20 minutes in between any connection I've ever made! But those have rarely been international, soooo.

A month to go guys! Woo!

Andrea just to let you know our flight arrives in Montreal at 7:10 and departs at 8:20, so we have 70 minutes not 50. It is still definetly going to be a very tight connection. If we talk to the stewardesses on board the plane they may be able to help us out, getting off the plane first and directing us where to go.
Just wondering if anybody knows if the Montreal airport is confusing?? How long would it take to get from domestic to international???

I can't remember it exactly - but I DO remember it's not NEARLY as bad as Toronto. Which will be madness.

Even Calgary is confusing. I did it by myself and it was kinda scary. The baggage pick up is usually next to the international terminal - for transfers!

Oops, I was thinking it was 720 and 810. At any rate, because this is Air Canada's flight plan, I'm sure we shouldn't have too much trouble because I'm sure we won't be the only ones on that flight who want the MCO connection. We wouldn't have had to do this changeover if we'd gone south first, then east, because we would have crossed customs in Vancouver. Unfortunately for us in the West, 90% of the flights go East first, with 5% being direct and the other 5 going South. Oh well.

I'd think as long as all our paperwork is right, then we should be alright. :) And if not, we can always yell at Air Canada for putting so little time between flights. ::)

My parents were just in Montreal a few months ago, and they say that the two terminals are fairly close together. So here's hoping we'll be okay!
