Canadians for January 2010??

Discussion in 'Applicants Discussion' started by princess_shayna, Feb 2, 2009.

  1. I got mine on July 9th and had my interview on July 27th. So it was two weeks and a bit, really. But at least it wasn't the full three! :p

I am excited for the phone interview! I think it will be fun to finally get to speak with Kristen in-person, instead of through e-mail.

I'm in the midst of planning my family's new years vacation to Disney and that partnered with my excitement about the cultural rep program has me on the disney website on a daily basis lol. I was looking at that Toy Story Mania, I've never been on that attraction but it looks so fun. Has anyone been to Disney since its been there that can tell me just how awesome it is??? Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin is one of my absolute faves at Disney so I imagine this one is going to impress me :)

Jackie, Toy Story Mania is wicked cool!!!
It's like a 3d ride but interactive so you get to shoot at targets and stuff. I really enjoyed it. Plus there's and uber cool animatronic Mr. Potato Head!!!

That does sound cool, I'm also looking forward to the Nemo Musical, any feedback on that??

Gah Toy Story Mania is SO fun! Really brings out the competitive side in people... ::) And Mr. Potato Head is awesome in the queue - he's like his own little side-show! Frig, the queue in general is awesome just because you're surrounded by old school board games, and you remember playing with them all - snakes and ladders? Oh yeaaaaah! The ride does a point system kinda like Buzz Lightyear (ya know, Space Cadet, Planetary Pilot, etc), except with Toy Story you're assigned different animals - random, but cool! It's definitely a fast pass attraction though, so as soon as you're in the Studios, grab one! From what I hear, the fast passes are sold out by mid-afternoon usually!

Finding Nemo the Musical is AMAZING! Seriously, it's like it was plucked from broadway, it's just beyond words. The music is amazing - I listen to it all the time, the puppetry is insane, and just visually it's soooooo neat. Love, love, LOVE it! I can't wait to see it again!! If the park is busy though, get there early so as to make sure you get supremo seats! Most seats are great, but the closer you are, the better!

Bah, now I'm in the mood for some Nemo Musical music! Saaaa-weet!

I can't wait to try Toy Story Mania out, I can be a little competitive ;)

I'm tempted to listen to the music for the Nemo Musical but I think I should wait and experience the whole thing at once. Its hard to resist all my disney temptations. I had to watch Pocahontas yesterday to get my fix lol.

haha yeah, the competitive beast within is a difficult to control sometimes!! But that can just add a little bit to the fun - within reason lol

I would say save the Nemo music until you actually see it - it'll just add more to the experience for ya!!

When you go down for New Years, are the Christmas parties still going on in the Magic Kingdom? If so, you should definitely hit one up! So fun!!

I'm not sure, I've been trying to find information about whats going on during that time but they only have the schedules posted for up to November. I know last season they ran the holiday edition of wishes and illuminations until the first few days in January, but thats all I know thus far. If anyone knows where I can find more information I would appreciate it.

Here's the info on the Christmas party: http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/parks/magic-kingdom/special-events/mickeys-very-merry-christmas-party/

Seems really odd to me that it just goes up to the 18th though! I thought for sure it went later than that! Holiday Wishes though I'd guess they will carry forward at least - and the castle is definitely going to still be lit up! Don't miss the lighting ceremony for that - soooo pretty! Yes, I cried a little tear or two ::) Unfortunately, I guess they may not post when they have Holiday Wishes until closer to the date. Kind of how the nights that Fantasmic plays changes from week to week - another show I'm obsessed with! haha

I love Finding Nemo the musical! The music is so good!!! Right after I saw it, I went searching for the soundtrack, I eventually found it at The Seas in Epcot, but it was well worth it! When I went with my roomates, they didn't enjoy it as much, but they're not quite as much into Disney or Musicals to begin with. It's definitely a musical that appeals more to children, but if you enjoyed Finding Nemo, then you shan't be disappointed! I'm sure you will love it!

The website there only mentioned the dates for 2009. I would assume after the 18th, it's just so busy that they aren't able to do the parties anymore. Not sure if they would still have them for 2010, but you could always give them a quick call!

Mickey's very Merry Christmas party is awesome! The parade, holiday wishes, story time with Belle, snow falling on Main Street and free cookies and cocoa, how can you lose!?!?

The Osborne Spectacle of Lights at Hollywood Studios is amazing too - and they'll definitely be up through New Years I'm pretty sure! If you've ever seen National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation... remember how Clark Griswald decorated his house with like a kagillion lights (yes, that is a valid number) - well, every building down that street leading to Lights, Motors, Action is so lit up I'm pretty sure you can see it from space. PLUS the lights dance! Soooooo cool! One day, wherever I live, I want to decorate my whole street just like that :D

Of course, you HAVE to walk down that street with a hot cup of cocoa! Plus it does "snow" down this street too! ;)

Puh-leeze! Christmas isn't Christmas without all that good stuff! Especially the tree and Christmas dinner!! I even had a little tree at school that I would set up every year (*cough*the-second-Halloween-was-over*cough*) and just decorate like a mad woman! Oh, not to mention blast Christmas music - ooooooooooh yeah!
