lol ya no kidding eh! I want to have a career with Disney somehow!!!

  5. Me too!

Maybe I'll study tourism and hospitality in university instead of acting like I was planning... :p

It's so hard to figure out what you wanna do! I envy the time you have :) lol

  7. Haha yeah, I guess I do have a lot of time... I have no idea what I want to do anymore. I mean, I have a dream school, but it's in Scotland, and there's no way I'd ever be able to afford it, I'm pretty sure. So that's kind of lame.

But tourism has always interested me... UGH. I just got out of high school and now they're making me think again. :p Hopefully a year in Disney will help me figure things out.

    What did you study?

well that'll be nice to have a year to have fun, who knows maybe you'll come out of it with a whole different idea of what you want! That's what happened to me! I'm just completing my Recreation and Business degree!

  9. Yeah, I'm hoping it will help. :) And that's awesome! Congrats. :D

Business is the way to go! No bias here ;)

I took Human Resource Management as my major, which I really enjoyed, but over the past little while, I think I'm realizing that I enjoy interacting with guests too much and that I'd be more suitable for a operational role in a company. So I'm considering taking a masters after the CRP in Hospitality and Tourism. Either that, or become a guide with Adventures by Disney! ;D

If you go into business though, WATCH OUT FOR FINANCE!!!! It caught me off-guard the first time I took it. :-[

  11. I'll look into business degrees, too. :)

I have no idea anymore. I kind of just want to go to Disney and then just... stay there. Forever. :p But sooomehow I don't think I'm allowed to do that. :p I WAS going to start my BA in September, but then I realized I don't have access to my education fund yet, which means I couldn't even afford to pay the committment fee to sign up for courses... and then the Disney opportunity popped up! So I'm hoping this works, because I don't want to be doing NOTHING this next year... And now I'm rethinking my BA altogether!

    Ohhh boy, I'm confused.

How long is the program over there? Might be worth checking out in the long run - I've been looking into a couple of universities in Scotland heavily for a Masters program, and it's pricey for sure, but it's a year less than a similar program on this side of the pond would take. Plus you can always apply for a student loan to help you out! I'm pretty sure it's much easier to get a work visa for over there as well, so even that takes the load off a biiiiiit! Anyways, it's always worth considering - a friend of mine did part of her program in Scotland, and she just fell head over heels for it.

  13. The program I want to do is three years, and it's a BA in Acting program. Some incredible actors have come out of it, and I've been drooling over the program since I was fourteen. :p

    www.rsamd.ac.uk

That's the website for it, it's pretty amazing. I could do the student loan thing, yes, which would help... Also, I wouldn't have to get a work visa because I'm getting citizenship anyway (Daddy is Scottish. :p). PLUS my sister lives there so she could help me out a little... maybe this is less impossible than I thought. :)

What schools are you looking at for your Masters? Have you ever been to Scotland before? It's one of my favourite places in the world. If they put a Disney park in Scotland I'd be in heaven. :p

haha actually both my parents are from the UK, so I too hold dual citizenship over there to make it mucho easier to work, and I have an aunt and uncle who live in Aberdeen, Scotland, which is where I've been looking at schools. The University of Aberdeen has a lot of really interesting looking biomedical engineering-type programs, which is what my nerdy side totally likes to geek out to :D So right away you can save by not living in residence or renting a place, and your sister might just have a hot meal for you to come home to every night ;) There's another university in Aberdeen called Robert Gordon University, but the programs don't entice me quiiiiiite as much. I like Uni of Aberdeen too because from what I can tell they attract a lot of internationals, so they organize trips for things like seeing the Loch Ness Monster (ooooooo) or Edinburgh, etc, etc. They even have surf lessons you can take there since you're on the coast - but that water is going to be miiiiighty cold no matter how thick the wet suit is!

I've never been to Scotland myself, but I think we're hoping to go over there for a visit one Christmas - I bet it's lovely then, plus they don't get 6 ft of snow! :D Have been to England though once to visit family, and again to do a course for school, and I just adore it over there! I'd probably go over with the intent of picking up a really sweet accent!! haha

  15. I've never been to Aberdeen, but I hear it's lovely. :) My family all lives around Glasgow, and Glasgow is pretty fantastic. Reeeeeeally good shopping! I hope you get to do the program that you want! It's really great over there.

I've never been in the winter, usually summer, but according to my Dad, no snow, just... mush. Because it does rain a lot. Except last time I went, three years ago last month, it was HOT. So that was nice. :)

Biomedical engineering... Wow. That's amazing, by the way!

I've heard the shopping in Glasgow is fab, or really in most major cities in general there! I've heard in the winter around Christmas time - I think in Edinburgh - they have like a Christmas festival, where they set up tonnes of little shops outside alongside spots where you can get roasted chestnuts and what not. Sounds like a nice way to spend the season, and get some Christmas shopping done!

If acting is what your gut is telling you to do though, might as well give it a shot! Ya never know... you may end up working for the Mouse in entertainment! Or maybe even on Broadway! I know Disney comes up to Toronto every few months looking for performers for either their parks or cruise line! They're here on August 5th in fact! :D http://corporate.disney.go.com/auditions/index.html

  17. I'd love to work for the Mouse in entertainment, or on Broadway! Problem is, my dancing is NOT up to snuff. :p

Did you hear about Triple Sensation on CBC? It just ended this week I think. Well, I auditioned for it last year, and I got to the callbacks, which was exciting, except then they made me dance. Needless to say, I did NOT move on. :p Yees.... I need to improve on that. Which is why I want to take a plain old acting course as opposed to a musical theatre one... Because dancing terrifies me. But I'd love to do something like that.

I'd love to do the singing for an animated Disney movie, actually. :) One that had music like Pocahontas or Hercules or something... That would be spectacular!

Oh gosh, I suffer from two-left-feet while dancing syndrome as well :D I'm such a goofy dancer, when I have to actually follow steps it takes some effort! I'd love to take like a salsa class, or even ballroom! I love all that kinda stuff! Luckily with Disney, they keep it pretty simple as far as their dancing goes - take We're All In This Together for example! And really, that's on the more complicated side of things at some points! haha Plus at these Disney Auditions, you may play a part in one of their cruise shows on one hand, but will also do character meet n' greets/shows. Fun!! I know for their auditions, they just teach you like a 10-15 count dance, and then do an "animation" segment! Soooo like they'll tell you to pretend that you're interacting with a certain character, but they have to guess who it is based on your movements alone - so to bend down and pretend you're putting a slipper on somebody would suggest that somebody is Cinderella! I'd do the animation segment just for kicks :D

I remember hearing about it last year I think, but not this year - well done for getting to the callbacks though!! ShaZAM!

You should think about trying out for Encore or the Candlelight Processional in Disney. Encore *REALLY* highlights the talents of cast members, and they sing anything and everything. Par example: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GwRCiudessc The guy in that clip works at Playhouse Disney in Hollywood Studios, and the girl used to work there as well but has since moved on to work at the Festival of the Lion King at Animal Kingdom. Amazing! If you don't want to be that centre stage though, you can also audition to be in the choir, as is the case with the Candlelight Processional. Only downer is that ya gotta really fight with your scheduler to make sure you're not working when there are practices and what not. But ya never know... ya could just get "discovered" that way ;)

  19. I just realized how braggy the Triple Sensation thing sounded... um... I'm sorry about that. I don't mean to come off that way. :-[

I would love to try out for that! Do they take CRP people? That is absolutely amazing. Looove the choir harmony bits. Thanks for showing me that. :)

You know, we'd all better get in. Seriously. Yummy should just look at us and go "Oh! What a fabulous group of people! Let's take them ALL!" I would enjoy that.

Only lame thing is, as a youngin', I wouldn't get the chance to room with most of the people on here. Silly Wellness apartments... :p

Pish Posh! You should be proud of such accomplishments - wasn't braggy at all! I tip my hat to you (if I had one on that is... :p) haha Not many people can say they reached the callback stage after all, definitely something worth boasting a bit about ;)

I'm fairly sure for both Encore and the Candlelight Processional, the only requirement is that you are a working Cast Member, and that you will still be a Cast Member at the time of the performances. Plus you have to attend a certain percentage of rehearsals. There are some more Encore clips around on Youtube if you take a little gander. Pretty sure I remember seeing a RENT medley once that was pretty cool!

Ah the wellness apartments aren't so bad, besides, it's not like anybody is boarded up in any particular apartment and never allowed to leave :D Plus to be honest, you really spend the least amount of time in your rooms - ya wanna get out there to enjoy the sunshine and parks! :) So Hakuna Matata on that front!
