Jackie that's so helpful you have a friend just coming back! You'll have to share some of the things she said :D What is she working?? F&B or merch??

Shes in merch and said she really enjoys it but she recommended for myself that i apply for F&B bc you can make so much more money, but yah, she had a great time and is so sad to leave and she told me that having done the ICP will help us in the interview process :D

Yeah, the bonus about F&B is that they tend to take more people on in that area, so your odds are better if that's the one you list as numero uno. That said, I also knew a guy who worked in merch in '06, and he had no complaints that I can recall. If anything, he liked that he had a little more time to talk to each guest and have some fun, which may not be so much the case if you're trying to turn over tables quickly in Le Cellier. But the way I see it, there's always opportunity for prime guest interaction and making some magic!

Also, something random (because that's how I roll!): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jlfc8zZF7Wc

It's true... sooo hard to get a seat at that fabulous Le Cellier! :D

Jackie she said that doing the ICP in 06 helped her chances?? I like this information lol!

I'm def putting F&B first! I wanna work in a restaurant! It's what i'm doing now and the money will be good once you get into the restaurant actually serving :)

Lol, that was hilarious... though I agree, no one really wants to eat at the Electric Umbrella if they can avoid it...

Why eat there when there are so many places to eat in the World Showcase?! Quick service options as well no less! hmm an eclair for breakfast in France, some fish n' chips from the UK for lunch, and the buffet of yummyness in Germany! Yummers!

Aaaaaaaand once again we're back to the topic of food. Shocker. :D

If I recall when I was there in 2006, my diet was heavily marked with ice cream lol... its funny, im not much of an ice cream eater in Canada but I guess the hot weather makes it that much more delicious. So whats everyones fave disney restaurant??? I think I like the Rose and Crown at the UK pavilion, but Le Cellier is decadent as well! OH and who doesn't love some pasta from Tony's (I have a picture of my mom and dad with one end of a noodle in each of their mouths like the movie lol)? Too many delicious choices!

Yeah.... Shayna and I rocked the ice cream/Wendy's combo diet, coupled with some divine instant oatmeal in the morning... basically, the picture of everyone one should *not* do! Ech, so gross, I couldn't do that again. When I got home at the end of the summer, I was eating veggies and fruit like they were candy - quite the switch! The thing with being in Florida though is that the heat *does* make it so easy to eat ice cream! (a pint of Ben and Jerry's no less!). Not to mention, given that it's melting so quickly, you feel like you *have* to eat as much as possible as quickly as possible... not the best game plan :D

Sooooooo hard to pick a fav restaurant, I like so many! Boma = insanely good food, Ohana = again, drool-worthy, Rose & Crown = fab (especially with Illuminations seating!), Tapan Edo (Japan) = the experience of the meal being cooked right in front of you is amazing in itself!, California Grill = when you have one of the top sushi chefs AND an amazing view of the Magic Kingdom... how can that be topped?! haha, the restaurant in France is magnefique, ditto for Germany, Cinderella's Table is... well... Cinderella's Royal Table!! aka Awesome!, Chef Mickey's I love for the characters (and the little celebration dance with the napkins haha), and gosh so many more!! Not to mention there's loads I've heard great things about but haven't tried yet (Flying Fish, the counter service in China, the restaurant in The Seas - Coral Reef I think it's called).

Basically, food is an attraction all on its own. That's why the free dining deal reigns supreme!!! I won't lie, I've been playing with dates already to see what it would cost just to get in on that for cheapie cheap lol :D

Plus, it's been almost 2 years since I've seen Wishes. I need my dose!

lol I think it's impossible to pick a fave... for Shanan's exact reason! They're all unique!!! Aaaaaaaand they're all so yummers!

And there are so many left that I haven't tried!!!

Cali Grill is super delish though! Their sushi is to die for!! And Boma is super good too!

ahahaha Shanan i've been looking into when it's cheap too... i'm still thinking Food & Wine might be a good time ;D

  15. So... just after I watched that video that Shanan posted I just about had a heart attack because I got an email from Kristen at Yummy Jobs... She says they're going to be calling me in the next week! AGH. Now... I'm nervous. :p

It's funny, because I had a dream last night that I got an email from her telling me when my phone interview would be... and it was on the 52nd of August. So I was really confused, because there is no 52nd of August, but then I found out that the entire world decided to change the calendar so that all of the months went up into the fifties... It was very strange.

So anyway... thought I'd share that. :p

thats so exciting! Nice to get an e-mail a little closer to the time eh!

  17. Yeah, I thought so! I kind of wish that she could've given me a specific time and date, but this is better than nothing! At least I know it'll be this week. :)

    But now I'm RIDICULOUSLY nervous.

    don't be :) You'll be great!

I really liked that they e-mailed though... narrows it down a bit!

  19. Thanks, Shayna. :)

Me too! I remember you said you just got a call out of the blue, right? That must have been terrifying.

haha it was, but dont worry, just relax and be yourself on the phone!

Hopefully they'll tell you when interviews will be so you can let us know too!

But honestly just pretend it's a normal conversation you're having with someone who loves Disney as much as you... that's what i'm going to do :)
