I leave Feb21st!! Let's hope that the call comes BEFORE I leave and I get to go and hang and relax before I would have to come back for the F2F!!!

    Hey Jen!

It sounds like you're having a blast! So where were did you working before Le Cellier? Do you have a favourite place to work? I would be happy anywhere I think. I am getting so excited talking to people who are already down there, it sounds like so much fun! :D I can't wait until my F2F... it's getting so close.

Hey everyone, I'm John from Victoria B.C. (about as far away from the interviews as you can get). ;D

I have also applied for working this summer/fall at WDW. I sent in my resume last month, and am waiting to hear back about an interview. I am starting to get nervous as the March interview dates are fast approaching, and I am still contimplating as to whether I will even be able to travel that far just for it. (which will cost $700 + hotel, etc...) Thats quite a bit for not a sure thing.

Jorden, did you find any good deals on airfare? :)

Also, another big concern of mine is about working at the Canadian Pavillion; does a year seem too long to work in that one area of the park? :D

CALL THEM! You will get your interview almost instantly. Soda did and got hers the next day! I can't sress that enough espeically with the travel you need to put in.

Now I did get on a seat sale, however it ended like the day I bought my tickets so that won't help you much at all anymore.

I personally don't mind working in the CDN pavilion for a year. The way I see it, the Magic Kingdom is a "magical" or special place to me and I think that would be ruined if I worked there. As such I'd greatly prefer to work in Epcot or MGM as they don't have that special connection. If I was going to LA for example I'd want to work in the California Adventures park for the same reason.

Trust me call them and you'll know before the end of the week (likey by Wednesday).

Thanks for the quick reply. I will call them first thing tomorrow morning.

I actually found a seat sale for about $450, which isnt too bad, but I will keep searching :)

Thanks for sharing your view which is similar to mine (and I am sure almost everyone); I just needed to be reminded of it ;D I can always visit the MK when not working, which will make it even more special. And if I really wanted to see/work it, there is always the possibility of a job-shadow.

If doing the Cultural Rep. program, are you employed by Disney, or Cast-a-way?

    Thanks

I believe you're essentially hired by the Disney Recuruters but you are a Cast-A-Way employee... however I'm not 100% sure of this.

And yeah thats the way I'lll look at it I can vist the MK whenver I want and I don't know any of the backstage goings on or politics in that particular park so it'll still have that special feeling.

Also which F2F are you thinking of? If you're going to Montreal you'll be the 3rd person (that I know of) off here anyway going there (and the 3rd person I know of from Alberta/BC lol)

  7. I don't think it would 'ruin the magic' it'll be different to be behind the scenes, but one day I hope to work in Disneyland park in cali, I want to help create the magic, so it won't be like spoiling it to me.

Okay thanks, I assume that being a Castaway employee has the same benefits as a typical WDW employee, except the paycheck might come from Castaways.

I think I am leaning toward the F2F in Toronto, because trying to fly from Victoria to a major city (Toronto vs. Montreal), will save me at least $100 on airfare.... however I might try to find a way to Montreal, as it seems thats where all of you are going.

Well there's also alot going to Toronto but I'd base it off this (if affects you at all)

Toronto (I was told) is on March 5th a Sunday so you'll have to fly back on Monday. However most people on here are saying March 6th which would involve you loosing 2 business days (if you have a job or school or whatever this could be a bigger problem.)

Although I guess with Montreal being March 3 (a friday) you could still loose 2 business days, although if you can catch a flight out late enough you may be ok... I know I couldn't (but luckily I don't have University courses on Fridays so all I needed to do was re-schedule a midterm which thankfully was no problem.)
