While I'd be happy to work anywhere, Merch is what I do here, so it's what I'd like to do there, as well.
I actually found a full list, and I think my choices are... 1) Merch 2) Character Attendant 3) Operations 4) Resort Bell Services 5) Full Service. The last two I might switch around, though. Here's the list for those curious (I guess they ask for your top five at the final interview) A- Operations (including attractions) B- Lifeguard C- Recreation D- Quick Service E- Merchandise F- Full service G- Character Performer H- Character attendant I - Resort Bell services J- Custodial K- Housekeeping L- Costuming
Hey guys, I'm not sure how I hadn't noticed this before, but I was looking at the CRP application discussion and realized that the UK applicants for this years program had prescreening events to go to, while Canadian applicants still had phone interviews... I get that its a whole different program but they might use the same pattern!! Can't believe I hadn't realized! oh and my choices would probably be: 1)Character attendant 2)Merch 3)Operations 4)Costuming 5)full service?(although ive never worked in that field before...) And Princesskat, I'll also be a few months shy of turning 21, so i've already ruled out Vista Way if ever I get in hahahah
Phone interviews seem like the obvious choice at this point, thanks for the info! And great choices, btw
lauraICP, such a pain eh! we've been legal for over a year at home, its so unfair! im sure it wont be hard to find a way around it though lol... i think my top choice would be merchandise as well. and then full service and operations question...whats character attendant? i thought that ICP students couldn't be characters? and would would 'recreation' entail?
I've actually been legal for two years now! (quebec's drinking age is 18... its 19 for the rest of the country right?) It feels so weird to travel to the states and not be able to have a drink... Character attendant is basically the person who follows a certain character and keeps the line moving during meet and greets and stuff like that... they're pretty much in charge of a specific character and timing and such... not the best description hahah but you can find a more accurate one online! And I've only ever seen one example of recreation, which was when I was staying at Pop Century. I was in the pool one day, and there was one cast member who was playing around and doing special activities with the guests... I really don't know what else it could entail though...
1) Character attendants are basically the character performer's body gourds. They keep the lines running smoothly, work crowd control, make sure no one does anything that could potentially injure the performer, ect. Plus they're the ones keeping track of how long the character is out there, and they need to tell the characters when to go back inside, and I heard they help a bit with costuming? 2) ICP can be character performers, but only fur characters, and they have to get accpeted into another position and then give an audition when they get down to Florida 3) From what I've heard, recreation is renting water boats, working on the golf courses, ect.
Drinking age is 19 here in BC, so naturally, everyone celebrates it with a drink. If I get accepted, I'll be sadly spending my 19th Birthday in the USA without alcohol. XD But who needs a drink when you have Disney!!
Aw, that sucks, William! It's 19 over here in NB, too, but I'm turning 19 winter semester, so I'll still be able to celebrate (and also buy lottery tickets)/
wow so pretty much everyone will be canadian legal when were there haha! and ok so i definitely dont think id want character attendant or recreation then...and i cant believe you got that email already! i cant believe how quick this whole thing is going...does anyone have any idea how many they usually hire? in total and from canada?
