Kristen said we only have to wait like 2 weeks to hear back now. waiting is always the worst so whatever the outcome i just want to know
It's weird that she said two weeks, because she told me three weeks the day of my interview. If I go by that, I'll find out on Friday.
I had my interview on the same day as DisneySparkles. I really hope we find out Friday! It would be such a relief to know whether or not I need to prepare to for the interview. But while we wait shall we get to know one another a bit more? I would love to know what people are studying and why they're looking to work with Disney. I'm in my first year studying Culture and Media at the University of British Columbia in the Faculty of Arts. Like most of you, I've loved Disney since I was little and I hope to work in their entrainment department one day. There are a lot of reasons why I want to do the program. In short, I want to gain experience and connections within the Disney company and have the opportunity to make people's vacations magical! P
I agree! I'm also in my first year, but I'm at Mount Allison University, other side of the country I'm in the bachelor of arts program taking either PPE (Philosophy, Political Science and Economics) or Majoring in one and double minoring in the two others. My reason for why I want to work at Walt Disney World a little different from every one else. Yes, like all of you I've loved Disney since birth, so much so that my family are Disney Vacation Club members. I've visited 12 times as a guest, I'm going for my 13th over Christmas, and depending on whether or not I get in, I'll either be going March break, after my finals (April) or later this summer (July-ish). Throughout my many trips, if there's one thing my family has come to appreciate about the Disney experience, it's the cast members. They're all so hard working, and yet somehow manage to have a smile on their face. I've worked in a gas station for 2 years, so I know that this is really work I'll be doing when I go. I'm not applying so I can work at a place I love or just so I'm at the parks, I want to work there because I honestly feel it's time I gave some of the magic back.
hey guys, totally crazy but i literally JUST got my email about phone interviews. SUPER late! and my phone interview wont be til this friday and the email said that face-to-face interviews will be in early 2013 i honestly had kinda given up that i would get a phone interview but lucky me i did! cant wait!
I'm in my third year of bacholer of education- elementary route. I want to do this program because its my two favorite things kids and Disney!
I'm in my first year of studying illustration. I hope to continue on to become an animator! I love to draw and have loved Disney since I was very young. The parks always inspired and amazed me, even though it was too expensive for me to visit them more than a couple times. I love the company and the attitudes of the cast. Anyone else refreshing their email every five minutes? Haha.
I'm in my first year of uni in Film Studies! I'm refreshing my emails too, but I know we probably won't find out until next week! I think someone mentioned having their interview tomorrow, but who knows if that's the last day! This waiting is driving me crazy!
I'm in second year psychology. Last year they asked how my major relates to working at Disney and I'm just like 0_0 ??? i said i like studying people...like wtf that makes no sense but i couldn't think of a better answer haha
woo i keep looking at pics of New Fantasyland! Grand Opening today, it would be awesome to be placed there. Does anyone have a preferred location, resort or park they wanna work at?
I think my favourite would be to work in the Haunted Mansion or Tower of Terror, but I really love all of the areas! I think New Fantasyland would be amazing too! Of course the ever-coveted Jungle Cruise Skipper position would be amazing... or character performer x)
I would love to work in the Magic Kingdom! The new fantasyland looks very cool and would be an awesome, but busy, place to work. My second choice would be between Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom. I'm not really sure why I'm not too interested in Epcot. Does anyone know if we have the option to work in Downtown Disney or one of the hotels? Just out of curiosity.
i'm pretty sure we can be placed in any of the hotels, parks, or even downtown disney. i'm just not sure how much of a choice we get in where they put us i guess it never hurts to mention if you have a location you'd really prefer. I'd love to work at the world of disney store in downtown disney or in magic kingdom, i'm thinking in the emporium on main street
I don't think I'm really interested in Downtown Disney (though it is beautiful!), I don't really enjoy working in retail. However, if I get the opportunity to work anywhere, I will be very, very happy.
You can work parks, resorts, Downtown Disney, and if you're working merchandise, you may even work the Disney store at the Orlando Outlets. Shifitia, retail isn't the only thing they have at Downtown Disney. If you work attractions you may end up at DinseyQuest, and I'm pretty sure the restaurants are all options, too
I'd gladly accept any location, but I've always had a soft spot for Figment, so I definitely wouldn't mind working in Epcot! Animal Kingdom has never really been my favorite though, but I still love it! I would probably choose the parks over Downtown Disney though... Can't wait to visit the new Fantasyland in a few weeks! Has anyone heard about the Be Our Guest restaurant letting people in without reservations? I've looked at everyday for the two weeks my family and I will be in Florida, and they're booked solid! Trying to figure out if they would accept us without a reservation... (we wouldn't mind having to wait for a table...)
