Canada Applicants Summer 2014

I'm Natalie, I'm from Ontario and I'm applying as well this year!!! I'm really excited about it! It's my fist time applying this year ~ I was too young last year.
I submitted my application a few weeks ago, and haven't heard anything yet... I'm dying to find out!
Do we have any idea when we'll be hearing from Disney as to whether or not we made it to the next stage?
Or even when applications close?

Last year the apps closed in mid-october.

Hi everyone! I sent an email to Jill (a Disney recruiter) and here is the response:

Greetings Catherine:

We will be looking at applications beginning in October / November time frame and will continue through the end of the year.

Last year, we hosted our recruitment at the end of January and could be looking at the same time frame this year, but we are still determining these dates.

Those selected through their applications will be invited to an in person presentation and interviews.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Hi guys! My name is Jessica and this is my first year applying. I'm super excited to hear from Disney and hopefully we'll all be recruited!
Do any of you know where face-to-face interviews are usually held? I'm from Vancouver, so I'm counting on it being one of the bigger/more known cities of Canada, and that I won't have to travel to another city. I've heard interviews tend to be held in Toronto or Montreal and if that is the case, unfortunately for me, it will cost $600+ to fly over to Toronto :S

 

Last year there were not enough applicants from Vancouver and so interviews were held in Montreal and Toronto.

Budget to be flying across the country, because it may very well be over there again.

I'm Albertan and it cost me about $400, not including transportation or hotel stays.

 

Thanks for answering! That kinda sucks, but I worked enough during the summer to pay for the flight just in case I had to fly to Toronto. Luckily for me I have family over there so I'll have a place to stay and hopefully transportation too. Fingers crossed we hear from Disney soon

No haven't heard anything yet! :-\ And yeah applications are still open! Now that we are in December, I hope we will have some (good) news soon! Interviews are in 2 months if they're held at the end of January like last year! It's not that far away! I sent an email to Jill last week to have some news and I received an email saying that she was out of the office on vacation and that she would be returning to the office Monday. So, I hope I'll have great news to share with you guys!

 

Hi Everyone! I'm Brittany - also applied for the ICP from Canada this year. I have a friend who did it two summers ago via Yummy, and she said she found out about interviews the last week in December/First week in January (about 3 weeks before the actual interview). Though she already had a phone interview. It seems very different now that they moved from Yummy to the Disney site...

I hope you get a reply from Jill soon! I applied in the first week of September and this is killing me.

 

The wait is troubling :S I'm going to be checking between every class to see if Catherine heard anything!

Oh, you did the program last year? They changed all the application process! I read a lot of blogs but they all talk about Yummy jobs, so it's not very helpful! I hope I'll have news from Jill soon!

I just hope they're waiting to close the applications because there's not enough people applying!

 

Thats my hope too - not enough people replying and thus more spots for us! I just hope they give us some information soon - otherwise I'm going to have to start planning for a job next summer in town :/

 

No - I applied last year and made it to the F2F but didn't get a job. However, I've changed a lot over the past year, which I'm hoping works to my advantage!
And I know! It's unfortunate that we're the guinea pigs for this new hiring, but it could work to our advantage, somehow!
