buy ur dollars!

Hi everyone!
if ur from the uk go to first choice, i've just been and got £662.36 for $1,000 in travellers checks and $250 in cash!! it was a really good deal....
they also tried to get me to get the card too, but i had one in the past, they charge to get money from the atm machine and also when using it in shops etc...
also have u thought about getting travellers checks, even if u use a $20 cheque to buy a $4 item, u get the change back in money! which is good!!
does anyone know if u can use the id cards when using travllers cheques or just a passport...???

Oh OK, sorry, didn't notice the credit card/ debit card thing

 

u need ur passport with travellers cheques- u cnt use n e thing else as thats what u brought them with. also I think they put ur passport number on it once u use it

 

Actually I meant either pay with cc or withdraw money with an debit card. Sorry!
Don't really know if I just take my credit and debit card with me and a few bucks in cash or take a few traveller cheques ???

 

If you get travellers cheques you canput them into your american bank account when you open it so it's safer than taking all your money over in cash. so you can withdraw a little at a time as you would with your english bank account

 

if you get a nation wide or post office credit card you can use to to buy stuff abroad without any charges at all and with the best rate. today if you used the credit card you'd get at leave $2 for every pound spent!
