bullMickey! sensoring on this site is amusing.

as well as all the uptight, irresponsible, cast members.

There is no rhyme or reason to how security works at commons, and I feel for those who went home because of it. Especially after seeing security members, on numerous occasions, sitting in their golf cart watching a bunch of minors drinking at a throw-in. As for those who got termed for other reasons, well we are all human and make mistakes.

But I must say, what's amusing to me is viewing some comments on here, 2 of which come off as quite self-righteous & judgmental for never having been to commons/ in the CP program. That being said, I only hope one day I can strive to that level of perfection and morality.
    Cheers

Im hopeing thats not a comment towards my post.....there are a few people that have posted abotu being perfect and following all the rules at disney...they are petty and stupid rules and i had way more freedom back home in canada....and i dint have to have 7 roomates.....i could have my car parked infront of my house.....i had fridge space.....i could have friends from out of town stay at my house.....you cant even have anyone in the commons past 1 am......really puts a strain on personal relationships unless you want to sleep around the world. in that case its great..........i wish i could move but no if you want to move disney charges you to do that....disney is just trying to get our money.

Can i be really honest here.... :-\ Right each person has there right to there own opinion, but to me if you hype yourself up too much over an adventure or what you expect something to be, 99%of the time if your hyped up too much you will think what am i doing? I have travelled to many places sometimes very hyped up about it and have just thought this is not what i expected it to be. :-\

Second of all with the aspect of being in a different country you have to obey the rules and regulations of the land that you are on, if you are gonna take a risk out there the consequences are huge if caught a.ka termination

Remember guys its an experience to work there and embrace it all life is too short, we have our own opinions, and its good there heard, but remember disney is a huge company and in the long term it looks good on your C.V aswell that you went to the U.S.A and worked there employers will hold the greatest respect for you, it shows your willingness ;D 8)

Remember Disney put thses hard rules in place as we are there on Visas working for them but also to protect you.

    OttawaChikky;

I think it's unfair to accuse people of getting 'catty'. You're entitled to your opinion as to Disney, but so are others - as I've said before, there are many alumni on this site, myself included, who had a wonderful experience and want to share it with others. When people give opinions, it's natural for others to respond with theirs!

It's a shame when people get terminated - but ultimately, the vast majority of terminations are the result of people doing things which they knew in advance would/could lead to termination if they were caught doing! I'm not talking without experience. Three of my roommates were terminated: all for things one would naturally suspect to lead to termaintion. [Littlefeather: yes, security people exercise their discretion. Sometimes they intervene, sometimes not. But you can't expect them not to intervene when someone does something wrong merely because they haven't in the past]. People make mistakes. But mistakes have consequences. With regard to underage drinking, people should consider themselves lucky to only be terminated. It is a crime. If Disney chose to report you to the police, there's a fair chance of you being permanently denied access to the United States.

I'm sure you did have more freedom back home. But you chose to go, and agreed to abide with Disney's rules. And it's not like the rules were hidden! They are explained very clearly at the presentation. I remember my recruiter explictly saying that some people won't want to comply with the rules, and that the program isn't for them. I can accept people being disappointed when they find things aren't as they expected, but I think it's unreasonable to complain about things you knew of in advance.

Please don't make jibes about 'Cast Members'. It is not stupid. There are many wonderful CMs who consider themselves part of the show and who are committed to creating an amazing guest experience. Please don't diminish their work - they really are more than mere employees. Ultimately, I guess, if you don't want to be a CM, you won't be a good CM.

Finally, I suggest that anyone who wishes to see what magic is, take a look at this: http://www.stupidguesttricks.com/vb3/showpost.php?p=2713&postcount=12.

Andy, my response was not directed at you. I do agree with you, people knew well in advance of the consequences and therefore, they weren't using their common sense. I am guilty of it, I drank underage. Never caught, but never tried to hide it either. I'm not perfect. I wouldn't have protested had I been reprimanded. I knew. I am an adult and responsible for my choices. I'm feel it's a shame when the pavilions are overstaffed and security decides it will take action on things they didn't care about the night before. I guess all in all, it's just a shame to see close friends go home, for WHATEVER the reason. I completely hear and agree with you. It's a crime, yadda yadda, they have the right to exercise their laws, good for them, agree.

I do agree with Ottawachikky, some of the comments that have been made have come off as "catty" whether that was the intention or not....

With the "people make mistakes comment" .... I mean literally no one is perfect. They know they made the mistake and don't need to be accosted with self-righteous and judgmental comments.

What most concerns me is that, I feel that some posts here and on other topics have come across as quite pious and holier-than-thou. And I feel this especially when it comes from those who have never been in the commons/CP.  You can sit there and say "I'm so lovely, I won't make stupid decisions while I'm down there, that's stupid and irresponsible" but really, you don't know how you will deal until in that exact moment. BUT, if you can predict the future/are perfect/ and ever so moral, please let me know, there's a big lottery draw coming up.

Please dont take offence to this hun i mean it in know way but for example i have been to America and been in situations with that style of situation with people egging me on to do it, but i have always stayed head strong and just said no, as i have always personally believed in all actions have consequences, but i am concerned about how thsi topic is running :-\

None taken :) I hear you completely. I agree. I too have been in those situations. I always decide at that moment, trust my intuition. I can definitely respect and appreciate those who do drink/don't drink, give into peer pressure/don't give in, do drugs/don't do drugs, everyone has their reason for being/choosing. I just find it difficult to deal with people who judge others, or come off as judging others for situations they have never been in. For instance, once I knew someone who said in a very condescending manner with regards to my choice to visit NYC -> "I hate New York City, it's filthy, too loud" and I asked "Have you ever been?" their response "No" .... I agree everyone is entitled to their opinion, but before you so brutally judge others, at least have some insight into the situation. You're right Garden, this is going nowhere, as.... everyone has their own opinions, and who is to decide who is right and who is wrong .... Can't we all just get along!?! LOL

I couldn't say it better myself.

    THAT is what Disney creates.
Not all this bickering and annoyances with getting termed! How can you possibly hate a company that allows us to create magic for people? It's not bullshit! It's disney.
