Honestly Silverchair have been practically lost to North America since Neon Ballroom. :-\ I haven't heard anything new of them really since then. I know they've put out album(s) since then but they never got any success out here. My local radio plays some songs off Freak sometimes, other than that I have to play my cds to get a Silverchair fix.
It's too bad, because Daniel Johns is a really great songwriter and singer.

As a "general outline", I listen to these:
Children of Bodom, Bullet for My Valentine, In Flames, Negative, Apocalyptica, Avenged Sevenfold, Pain.... I can go on and on lol But I have to also mention 80s hair bands because that's what I grew up on! So bands like Bon Jovi, Aerosmith, Poison and of course, the wonderful wonderful Motley Crue are very dear to me

it is at least exciting to know that all those type of bands do play orlando. gives us band deprived people some hope of seeing really great shows while we are there!!!! i cant wait to rub it in the faces of my friends here in SA...... ;D

dunno, its got a couple of great tracks. as you may have seen on my list of stuff i like. this is very 'tame' to what i would normally listen to. i think i like the change. used to screaming vocals and now i can jam out on some 'singin'. i dig his voice though!!

what do you recommend disneyjess? anything that blew your mind recently??

A guy I work with had it on the other day while we were working together in the kitchen. I have to agree with Jess, I liked it but could hardly tell when one track finished & another started (with the exception of the two singles they have released) I do think the dude has a cool voice though too!

Then I had the CD player & we were back to Chinese Democracy for elevnty billionth time!

Me too. Tell me later on facebook how amazingly talented Joey is ;) That man's drumming is out of this world. And you guys were talking about voices-- When Corey sing-sings and not scream/growl-sings, I love his voice. I'm not saying I don't enjoy his screams/growls as well, but I'd take clean voice Corey over many other singers anyday.

i'm loving their new album, i've never been into screamy screamy metulz, i find this album melodic enough for me to like.

I haven't got it yet... Maybe I'll ask for it for xmas lol I am in absolute love with their new single "Dead Memories".
You might like Vol 3 Subliminal Verses, it's got some melody to it too. I can't really compare it to the new one, since I haven't heard it yet, but I would imagine it's along similar lines. It's definitely way more melodic than their older ones.

lol... metulz... never seen it spelt like that.

    ah, another drummer! splendid.
i never really try to play along to any slipknot as the skills (esp. double pedal) are too much for me!
