Mine needs some serious updating! the last time I did anything of the sort, I was applying for a job at Circle K (a Canadian gas station/convience store chain which has several stores in the US as well) in the summer between my sophmore and junior year of high school. The only jobs I've had since were either with that company in a different store, or what I do now, through my Dad's business. I've had tons more work experience that the Yummy Jobs people need to see! XD

I've been using the same cover letter for Disney since 2009 aha I just tweek it a little each time :p It's a right pain when I have to update my cv though cos it's got a dead fancey layout, I've just started working for Tesco so I need to add that on there now :s I hope Yummy don't look at our degrees again cos last time there were so many applicants I think they prioritize anyone who's studying something related to working in the entertainment industry :(

Well, considering I haven't picked my major yet, I really hope they don't look at degrees :S

August 1st? woah, that's early this year! xD maybe they want more time to deal with the more applicants they have :p
and i didn't think what degree you did mattered at all :/ i don't do anything related to entertainment, i hope they don't :S
anyway, i guess we'll all be getting our applications ready for a few weeks time- best of luck everybody!!! :D

Yeh I think they take it into consideration because it's related to the line of work you're going into it, I think it helped me that I was doing a degree in Entertainment Management but now i'm studying Journalism so it's a bit unrelated lol but oh well :p And Andrewjason how did it go with Universal? I can't believe Kate is over there now  Jealous!

hey! i got to the final f2f interviews in Manchester, which was pretty cool, but i didn't actually get in... which probably, most likely would have been even cooler if i had but oh well xD and i know right! jealous about all the icps and umm, i guess ucps? still, our chance is up next! :p

Hi guys, excuse me for popping into the conversation out of the blue. I am so glad to finally be posting as an actual soon to be ICP-applicant! That definitely calls for a grinning emoticon me thinks ;D
I do not know if anyone will know, but does it matter what time you apply from when applications open? I want to apply asap but I'm getting my results on August 7th so I feel I might as well wait till then but I don't know if that time delay will make any difference. Also, I am seeing mentionings of cover letters, so on your Yummy Jobs profile do you include a cover letter with your attached CV?
Hopefully these ramblings are making some kind of sense, I'm guessing it is becoming very clear that I'm a newbie to the process!
Anyways, good luck to everyone applying this year-may the magic be with you (couldn't resist sorry) ;)

Applications open August first, and close the third of October. You can send them in any time between :) As for the cover letter, I don't think it's a necessity (I didn't do one) but it'd be considered an added bonus, I think.

They say applications close on October 3rd, but im fairly sure it depends on the volume of applications they get. As last year i applied before the closing date but was told they'd recieved too many applications and wouldnt be considering mine.

That's interesting. YummyJobs does say that they reserve the right to change the dates, so I guess that's fair. But AllyBallyBee would only be six days late, so she'd be fine, I think :)

Thank you for help, muchly appreciated :) It is just that after waiting for so long, I just want to make sure that at the very least I apply perfectly so if I don't make it, it isn't because I was an total idiot and applied late or something. Oh, I make my life so much more difficult then it needs to be ::)
Oh well, the big day is tomorrow so good luck everyone applying straight off the bat :)

Possibly a silly question but will people about to go into first year of Uni this year be able to apply? ???

I won't know if I'm in Uni until results day and don't start till mid-September so obviously can't apply to the ICP until then, that's if they're even still accepting applications!

Oh no! Hope everything works out! A little trick I use is creating a wifi signal from my phone and sitting it next to my laptop. It drains the life out of my phone, but if it's something really important like this I'd say it's worth it :)

Lightningz - I'm in my first year of Uni and I'm applying, but I got my results back in April. I think you have to technically be "enrolled", which I am. I'm really not sure of the proper answer.

Managed to find out that if I finish my first year before I travel it's all ok, not sure when I'll be able to apply, though. Thank you. :)

Good luck to everyone applying from today!
