April 1st interview waitlistees

Im slightly confused, as I emailed earlier saying I was confused etc..And I got a reply back saying that they are hoping to call me this evening, if not Monday..

I don't understand tho..I guess there just guna explain why I've been waitlisted and what its all about etc...

By the way..Im on the waitlist! Forgot to say that I think, haha..

Vicki, can u tell me what is the wait list covering, is it just for people to replace those that drop out or what?

 

I have no definate info, only what I assumed from my fellow wait listees last time around...

Two people had their dates moved forward to cover for those who had dropped out, only two though.

The rest were put in various deparure dates towards the end the time we could've gone (ie June-Aug for Feb-Sept departures) as Disney came up with them.
As for why they were Wait Listed when people were obviously needed for those dates... who knows?

That's all I can tell you mate, so beyond that, your guess is as good as mine!

Well I just got a reply to my e-mail from Michele, where she assured me that there was no difference between wait list people who found out ages ago and those who found out just now, so we're all in this together - officially!

At the risk of sounding too hopeful (but I can't help it cos I am!!!) she did sound positive about us getting positions...

 

I cant feel hopeful, cos im worried that if i do. Im just gonna feel even more gutted if it doesnt work out. Im so devastated right now. I know its not a no, but its such a confusing place to be in. Im gad i have u guys with me tho! I pray this works out.

 

When I spoke to Jason on the phone earlier on today, he was really optimistic about the wait list..

He basically said that they felt that we were good enough for the job and would love to give us a position, but there was only a minimal amount of spaces..But as soon as anyone cancelled, they would be in touch and get someone off the waitlist in place..

But yeah, he really wanted to get the message over, that don't worry, as soon as a spot becomes available then someone off the waitlist will get a place...

 

I may not be from the april 1st interviews.. but i am from the march 1st canadian ones.. and there doesnt seem to be a lot of us on here..


anyways... jsut thought i would drop a line saying i am in the same boat.

hey ive been waitlisted too, however i wasnt at the april interviews...spoken to a few of u already ^_^ leaving us 27th march interviewees out =p hehe!

My friend Jay told me the other day because of th recession and credit crunch and all that jazz they've had to cut down on how many visa's they are allowed to issue people...they've cut down on the ICP too...they are laying off a lot of american staff too over in disney too! So staff cuts might be a reason why we are waitlisted too! I mean im sure most people who have been accepted might not even be on this forum but going by this forum there aren't that many ppl going out on one date maybe about 10ish at a time!

So i don't think its got to do with us being shit or anything...its probably far to expensive to send us all out at once due to Visas and shit! I dnt no the full details but im just going on wot my mate jay sed to me!

Im still annoyed ive been waitlisted and dnt get why sum ppl found out sooner than others...weird! but hey we all have to play the waiting game and i mean JP is an example of being waitlisted then being sent out! i mean i could go ASAP but i dnt wanna miss my graduation on 17th july tbh xx

 

Nah I dont think its that, its only salaried workers that get affected by the lay offs. And thats not us. I think we just didnt do as well as the others for one reason or another, and basically if a place comes up, whoever is at the top of the list gets going first. Its annoying. but thats life.

 

I'm waitlisted too! What confuses me is a guy who was in the same group interview as me got told he was waitlisted a week before I did! Why did I take a week longer? Lol baffles me!

 

I think money might be an issue tho! If they're laying people off obviously Disney are tightening their belt (not that they need to! Their Disney!!!) but at the end of all this Disney will be reimbursing everyone's flights remember! That's probably in the region of £400-600 they'll be giving to each person as well as all the other people working in the world showcase! So I think it's just a waiting game for places and this recession improving!

 

I dont know why they took so long mate, but I find that really annoying, as yummy would have known that we would have heard about the others being rejected/waitllisted, and they know we would have thought that we had got it.

 

Everyone's all quiet, Whats everyone's thoughts about this then?

Anyone given up hope? Anyone still positive!

 

Still positive but not expecting to hear anything for a little while yet, so just hanging in there and hoping for the best!

As far as I know, no one's been given Jan or Feb dates yet, so that could be our chance... Any thoughts?

 

But the placements were for placing starting from Sep-Dec right?
