Wait a sec were you not saying montreal wasnt that close to you before and you live near Ottawa? I live in Thunder Bay which is why I said they are both far haha. I figured you lived out somewhere remote or something like me
Fair enough, thankfully you have access to train systems and such though . Yeah North Bay is a popular area for Tbay people for school.
Well Im in Petawawa which has no trains , has a greyhound but no public transit... but i should have my license soon i failed my first test lol
Haha well I will have to see how much difference on the flights. I would prefer Vancouver, never been . You have a place for me to stay right
Im trying to! I have a car , well actually I inherited a minivan that I plan to take to Florida if I get the job...we can totally all do a big group party around Orlando sometime if we all make it haha. Whats everyone's preference so far? I said Food and Beverage hoping to end up at the restaurant and make tips! lol (Thought I know you start at the popcorn snack cart then move up to the restaurant)
Taking a minivan down there would be a great idea. I've heard the bus system sucks and for trips to WalMart it'd be great to just load all your stuff in a van instead of lugging it on the bus or cramming in a cab :-\ My preference is also F&B. I REALLY want to end up maing tips ;D
Any sort of a vehicle is fantastic . The one plus I can think of is lots of people can join on day trips to the beach !!! As for the bus system its well frustrating at times. If you drive from Commons to epcot where we get dropped off takes about 7-10 minutes depending on traffic. The bus it takes around 30. If you go to walmart the bus only comes at certain times and once your on it takes about 30 minutes each way and on the way back if you have frozen stuff that can spell bad news. I always either got a ride to Walmart or endd up paying the 12 bucks for a taxi back it was so much better than the bus. Also easier to get your stuff back! A vehicle also alows you more freedom on days off to head to the beach etc which is fantastic. Granted renting cars is cheap cheap cheap. But having your own is ten times better. And after you fight for the C bus at 915am for a few months or at 930 at night you get sick of that as well. Certain other countries like to push and shove alot and its just awful. I cabbed home from work so many times. Food and beverage is the way to go. The tips are nice but the experience as a whole is much better. every day is different, theres new challenges every shift and its not like just standing at a cart selling merch all the time or getting people in and out of a movie. You work alot harder, and it can be stressfull and people can be harsh on you (even though its DisneY!) but in the end its well worth. Its why crazy people like me go back a 2nd time, though the money helps too
I love my minivan I know its a soccermom vehichle and I'm only 22 but my friends drive it who can and its so nice a bunch of us can all go out, or make mega dashes to Costco so much nicer to have all the room.
I'm applying for the Spring Canadian Interviews. I had my phone interview last Wednesday, and she said 2-3 weeks. I'm guessing it will be 2 weeks, cause 3 weeks brings us to Christmas. I just want to know now.. definatley the worst part is waiting! If i make it i'll be for sure going to Vancouver.
Me too! I can't remember last time because i wasn't paying attention. One of my friends that applied a few months ago heard the next day. Other's i've heard had to wait anywhere from 4-6 weeks. But still... i'm assuming i'll hear sometime next week.
Sam you know you'll get an interview! You've got Disney written alll over you! And as for the car thing....I want one down there sooo badly. The freedom it gives you is amazing, and lugging huge bags of groceries (or IKEA merch if you're crazy like me) 19 buildings is sooo heavy! Did you all get that silly email saying that if we aren't enjoying the cold winter we can look forward to perhaps a warmer winter in Florida next year? I saw the email and got my hopes up and then it was just that! I want to know the dates of the interviews so much! I'm so nervous/excited!
Hey! I did the program from 08-09 and am reapplying after trying a stint on the cruise line! I missed the parks so much! I had a phone interview to go to the fall interviews, but I hadn't cut ties from the cruise line yet, but now that I'm in the free and clear, Kristen said they were going to use my phone interview notes from before and contact me in jan and let me know interview dates. Keep me posted if anyone finds out the exact date! Good luck everyone! And Hopefully see ya down there!
