Any famous people seen at Disney World?

We had Peter Mayhew in the restaurant the other day (Chewbacca from Star Wars)

 

Oh god..I can't wait to meet some of these people.
Do you think Disney would frown upon it if we asked for photos with them while we were working?

I hope not.

yea you HAVE to treat them as a normal guest
You can indeed get termed for treating them differently - asking for pics and autographs

Can you say like "Congratulations on ......"
Or do you have to completely pretend they are not famous.
Because that's crazy.

 

You're not meant to treat them any differently. Alot of them like the fact that people aren't constantly bothering them.

When I was on the Disney Wonder, I met Jodie Benson (voice or Ariel) and Susan Egan (voice of Megara and original Belle on Broadway). I also met Bradley Walsh from Corrie. I was not impressed by him or his kid Barney (Barney!) He actually used the line, "don't you know who I am?" to avoid a queue. I really felt like saying "actually, sir, this is an American ship so no, no one knows who you are and the people who do don't care!" Instead I asked if he was "that guy from Supermarket Sweep". He was not impressed (luckily I didn't get into trouble for it. That would have been a disiplinary, right there!)

 

Ha ha ha ha I would have laughed my head off if I was in that queue

Yeah, they like that. That's why there's so many celebrities there. Johnny Depp was actually on the norwegian ride once, but none of the CM's recognized him. He was so impressed on how normal they had treated them, so he went to guest relations and told them this. When the manager told the CM's they got shocked that they had had Johnny on the ride without recognizing him

 

I'm DEFINITELY jealous... I would love to meet them, but then again, I'd like to be able to talk to them about their experiences without being termed .
Actually, during lunch at the face-to-face a couple of us were talking and I said one of the people I'd like to meet was Jodie Benson... she just seems so awesome. Plus, I love Beauty and the Beast, so it would be really awesome to meet Susan Egan!

 

Jodie Benson was on the ship with another family and we had a whole group of kids from the two visiting families in the CLub and Lab (the kids areas on the ships). At the end of their cruise, she pulled me aside and told me her kids loved me. I actually didn't recognise her! The Little Mermaid is my favourite Disney movie yet I didn't recognise Ariel! Anyway, I looked it up afterwards on the computer (technically, we're not meant to do that) and that's when I found out who she was. For the rest of the year I was telling people "Ariel's kids love me!"

I am soooo sad! :-[

At the Mexican restaurant (where i was server):
- Michael Rosenbaum (Lex Luthor on Smallville)
- The Galagher Brothers (OASIS)
- One of Walt Disney`s granddaugthers with her family
- Random mexican celebrities.

Around Disney World:
- Hanna Montanas tv brother "Jackson"
- The "Oxiclean" guy from the tv comecials (belive it or not people where taking pics with him)
- The beach boys
etc (wich I dont remember the names right now

 

We served Drew Carey in Le Cellier (this was back when he was a bigger deal than he is today). I met Roy Disney and Michael Eisner at the Animal Kingdom opening (that was very cool). I served Roger Ebert's family on the Wonder (he was there, but didn't stay), and Matt Ouimet as well (he was DCL pres, then Disneyland, and now runs Starwood Hotels).
