I hope I could eat healthy there but I'll miss french cook and cakes lol And hope with the warm I'll loose weight !
Anyway, there are other things to do to lose weight or keep in shape other than jogging or going to the gym. There is a pool and tennis courts there, isn't it? And was there a beach volleyball court? I'm more concerned about keeping my exercise habbits then not gaining weight since I left the military anyway which means going to the gym 5-6 times a week isn't a goal
Hey there, don't worry too much. everyone gains weight, if u drink a lot or not, if u eat healthy or ot, if u do sports or not. I dont know why but we all gained weight and we lost it too. when u are gaining weight its also because u have those "nice machines" very u put a dollar in and u get some candy for break or a coke. they have different suger in it as over here and when i once started i couldnt stop eating this stuff and needed more and more. in some of my breaks I spended about $5 just for sweets.. so take care!!!! If u wanna do "cheap" food shopping go to wal-mart. If you wanna eat more healty and you wanna have also some food from your country go to publix (behind the outlet mall - 10min walk).. I did food shopping usually at publix. the fruits and vegetables look much better (fresher), the meat is better, the bread is better. for us germans, we don't like toast that much, we always bought "german bread". even though publix is more expensive it's worth to safe up some money from your paycheck. eating healthy is important. dani
Sounds good, I'd hate to have to eat food that had ten times the amount of sugar added and bread thats been filled with air to make it look bigger :-X
Eating healthy is really important - you're most likely gonna be eating at awkward times of the day anyway because of your work schedules, so when you do, it's much better to eat healthy stuff than microwave stuff. It will take more time, but you won't feel as crappy afterwards when you're trying to sleep at night after having a very late dinner. Talking of losing/gaining weight, in the first 2 months I got here, I lost about 8 pounds! Of course, when I finished the program, I had an extra belly which I'm not particualrly proud of...lol. Don't worry about that. It's almost inevitable that your weight will change. And some of the restaurants there are so good (Charleys, TGI's, Bahama Breeze etc) are soooo good. And criminally cheap too... Try and play football, go swimming, use the gym, play tennis etc. There are facilities close by (such as Mickeys Retreat) which accomadate all of those. Dan
HA!!! You all sound so dedicated to the gym. I went with a personal trainer for three months before I went over and had intended to go once I got there...BUT...there are so many more things you can do. If there is a great party or people going out somewhere fun, it'll be tough to choose the gym over that. Good luck! shan
Speakin' of weight loss.... Do any of you know if there's an Arby's, Wendy's, Mc.Donald's, Taco Bell, Papa John's, Red Robin or that Apple resaturant (cant' remember the name), near Commons??
Oooo you just said those magic words; PApA JoHn!! The nearest one is along the 535. They deliver to the commons. I used to know the number off by heart. ;D There's a wendys and a Chick'fil'et right by Vista Way. There's a new McDonalds right by Publix. I think there's a Taco bell at crossroads? Not sure can't stand it myslef. lol. Don't know about the Red Robin or Apple restaurants. ??? All of those are in walking distance or the bus stops there. Ona x
LOL, thanx Yeah, i know, Papa John's is great LOL and that stupid commercial on TV LOL ;D *Papa John...Papa John* .....LOL hilarious ;D ;D ;D
I love junk food, but I'll definitly keep my diet and workout when I get there, don't wanna gain fat while living there.
