I don't remember being fingerprint scanned when I visited there 12/30-1/1. Just when I've been working.

    Lesson in Disney scandals...

    http://www.cnn.com/2004/US/South/04/02/disney.arrest/

Thank goodness I didn't know him!

    Update:
He got acquitted. Went back to work in Disney. 21 days later got arrested for assaulting two Kodak photographers. Don't know what's happened since then.

I didn't get my fingerprint scanned for anything while I was working at Disney, and there was no problem whatsoever with going into MGM through the cast entrance. We used to go in through the cast entrance all the time, and they would look at your card and see that you worked in Epcot....no problem. They must of beefed up secrurity since I was there.

You were there during 9/11, so I'm surprised that you didn't see all the beefed up security.
Because Walt Disney World has been listed as one of the main targets by terrorists, they're trying to take all the precautions they can.

They beefed it up for a while, while that was all going on and you had to show your commons ID aswell as your disney ID when going through the cast entrance at Epcot, but it didn't stay like that forever. It was before all that that we used to go in through the cast entrance at MGM, but I still went throughthe cast entrance at Blizzard Beach afterwards.

Oh, you still have to show your Commons ID with your cast ID. It's kind of scary at first, but then you get used to it.

Did you manage to keep your Disney ID when you left?

I have to keep my Disney ID. I have to turn in the old one to get my new one each time I go back.

Oh wow thats a new thing - they never did that in 03 but - they seem to get more finger print crazy every 6 months. The latest i heard is they r gonna start finger printing u when u leave the country - by 06... They're already testing it at some airports...

All Us airports finger print you and do a retinal scan thingy (did last year anyway). Its part of the new crack down on terrorists

As we dont fly direct into Orlando Im guessing all this scanning happens at the airport we first arrive at? Is that right?

I guess that would make sense to save time once we arrive in Orlando - or would we have to go through it all in both airports?

Hi Guys - Michelle ive connected b4 and its always at the airport where your first flight lands they do ur finger prints... Once u get second flight u wont believe how easy domestic flights are no finger printing - its a lot less hassle!
