More time for everyone to brush up on the CV's, interview skills or get more work experience though if you think you could do with it! Also - lots more time to SAVE! I spent well over £1000 just on the interview process alone, and some people do get asked to go pretty quickly so its best to start saving for it in advance. I don't know how it will impact on the amount of people applying, I think a lot of people will do it on a whim so if theres a wait before they can even apply then they might decide not to do it.

 

In a way I prefer the 5 month wait. It gives you time to save, as Jen said prepare for the interview/application process. However saying that, You don't need to wait for a date to be set to start doing all these things. I have already started saving just in case.... So if I do hopefully get an interview I will have the money for the application process and then have money for flights, insurance, visa etc...

Yeah, that's a good point Jen I hope I have enough experience already, but if not, the fact that I'll have been in my current place of employment for over a year might help! I've been saving already, got nearly £1000 saved so far, I figure it doesn't hurt to have savings, even if I'm not lucky enough to get a place, at least I can have a good shop or book a nice holiday to cheer myself up!! Hehe
